In February, 2010, we contracted with Osvaldo to do some roof repair on our home in Hamilton…read more(Novato), CA. It was a new purchase of a foreclosure. As he was repairing the leaks, Osvaldo noticed some red streaks coming down from the ironwork around our windows. Long story short - he discovered leaks in the stucco (design flaws), leaks underneath our tile roof, and leaks around the windows. Turns out there had been construction lawsuits in years previous by other neighbors over the same issues with the original builder. For a very reasonable price, Osvaldo fixed everything and was proactive about things that would be needed to be repaired in the future, and was so thorough about it, that we haven't had a problem since. Osvaldo replaced our roof, repaired all the leaks in the stucco and repaired the root cause of each leak, replaced the gutters, checked the drainage. He even fashioned a new crown feature for our outside windows. Since Osvaldo - and following two torrential winters of rain - not a drop of rain inside our house. I am planning to contract with him to repaint the exterior of our home. I give Osvaldo high-ratings for affordability, honesty, reasonableness, and trustworthiness. I don't know what happened with the previous poster, but you can see that Osvaldo was honest about it. The construction trade is something where both the owner and the contractor need to be well-informed about the scope of the job and what's being asked for what's being paid ($). It's a two-way street: homeowners can misrepresent the scope of the job or expectations to the contractor and cheat him; the contractor can do the same in reverse. In our particular job - which took about 5 weeks - Osvaldo was the one single contractor we could trust, and that trust was rewarded. Half-done = half-paid is how the contract industry works. There's a purpose in pay as you go. It's never good to pay for everything up front.

He removed all the doors on the kitchen cabinets and then started sanding. Over the next several weeks he and a worker would show up for several hours some days and then not show. He asked for a significant deposit for labor and supplies. The only supplies were a can of primer and a couple of cans of paint remover. When the sanding and priming were finished he abandoned the project... We had to hire others to finish the work. Called once to say he was sorry and would refund the money in several days but that was the last we heard.... Hello Small Claims Court ! If you use him pay after all work is finished. R. H

We needed someone to do some light house cleaning prior to a tenant moving in. I saw the great…read morepraise for Maria, so thought I'd give her a try. First off, please keep in mind that our house was NOT filthy, nor was it lived in for almost a year. There was no trash that needed to be disposed. No dirty toilets, shower stalls or bathtubs. All that was needed was some mopping, wiping of countertops, cabinets and moreso cleaning of windows. In the three hours that Maria was there, I was disappointed at the results. I personally had to I back and redo what cleaning I thought she did. From her I got a "you did not tell me to clean that". Ok, so when I mentioned to clean the widows, to her it meant "wipe the glass"? She cleaned partial trim, but some windows were left untouched! I guess this was because she was on her cell phone talking away when I wasn't watching her. I ended up paying $180 for dismal results. Far more than what I originally planned, but her Yelp reviews got the best of me. If you plan to hire Maria to clean your house, thoroughly go over with her in detail what you want cleaned. Secondly, do not turn your back on her - I caught her on the phone 3 separate times when I stepped out and left her alone. Lastly, get several quotes to do a good comparison prior to an agreement with her. With so many other house cleaning services available, I don't think I'll be going back to Maria. In the end, I give her 2 1/2 stars, but the fact I felt like I overpaid and caught her on the phone more than once left a bad experience in my mind.

Multiple residence including myself complained to our park management that the pool was too hot and the Jacuzzi was cold, nothing was done about it after fighting with management the pool and Jacuzzi was closed for 3 to 4 days for repairs, the pool re-opened I went to use the newly opened pool and what I saw was discussing there was so much algae growing all around the tile the hole inside the pool that flushed into filters were thick and covered in algae when I put my hands on the brick trim to get out of the pool my hands slipped and were covered with green algae I showed management. A few days later I showed up at 6:30 am with my personal hand held brush and started scrubbing the algae when the guy showed up he had no idea what I was talking about as if he had no clue about scrubbing a pool then he asked me if I wanted him to finish the job and could he use my brush since he didn't own a brush like mine. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! Why didn't he ever notice that the temperature on both the pool and Jacuzzi were way off for a minimum of a week, why didn't he ever notice the algae growing in the pool or had no clue about brushing the pool, he had the brush in his little pretty empty caddy, I am sure he added an over abundance of chlorine into the pool to get somewhat of a similar decent PH reading, I bought my own testing kit and it was bad about 76% far from perfect , however, once he finally cleaned the pool so it was noticeable I tested it again and I would give it a 93% close to perfect. I will continue to monitor the cleaning service (algae free) test daily, if I don't have to complain to our management or start doing the guys job and testing stay above the disgusting mark for the rest of the year I will gladly come back and update my rating, if it all goes back to disgusting any time prior I will come back and tell it all over again. It is a public safety issue and the City doesn't care. Pretty sad.
