I showed John a picture of one he did before, told him I liked redwood, and he was off to the races. In just a few short days, my dilapidated 1970s fireplace was a brand new marble wonder with a custom redwood mantle and much safer for my kids. When I had a problem with a window in my kitchen, John was on the scene and took care of it before I could even get to my house to worry about it. That next week, I had a huge, upgraded window in my office overlooking the hills. John cares deeply about his clients, takes care of your home as if it were his own, and charges a fair and reasonable price for his work. He communicates with you regularly so you feel informed, empowered, and cared about. He answers questions quickly and honestly, giving you the benefit of his many years as a general contractor. Doing business with him is like working with a friend or neighbor. I highly recommend John and HomeSmith and can't wait to work with him on other projects at my home.

He dealt with issues by coming up with solid solutions, keeping in mind to consider our budget. I would highly recommend HomeSmith for consideration when planning your next home project.

I learned a lot about wood, because Logan loves his work and likes to explain his do's and don't while working on a project. Outside of simply friendly and professional service, I also felt taken serious as a customer and part of the process. I absolutely adore that new look for my dresser, and have already given Logan another piece to work on.

All I wanted was a clear price and estimated time. Eric responded timely and gave a clear quote. I had to split the work up into two days cause some of my items hadn't arrived yet and he was able to quote me for the two days just fine with a clear understanding of the work. He worked efficiently, had all the tools and a floor tarp and work was excellent quality all around. The price was very competitive and reasonable. He built a bunk bed with a trundle and a twin bed also with a trundle and a dresser, all in one day. Super happy with the work. Thanks!

The installer (Junior?) on the other hand was cocky, rude and did a horrible job. Craftsmanship aside they didn't even sweep the floors or clean new countertops after installation. Even after talking with John the owner he never came to look. Avoid these guys at all costs. I'm saddened by this whole experience. Having worked and saved only to be treated like crap for wanting professional work performed. We're still fixing issues.

When we opened the water system in the house we had cold water from hot water taps and vice versa, reminded me of a third world country work. Jasko saved the day!…read more After a complicated and frustrating week working with Coles Fine Flooring, with poor communication, and many complicating issues, it became clear to me that Coles was not going to schedule my tile installation within my required timeframe. Concerned, I called several tile installers. Jasko at Topalovic Tile and Stone answered immediately and stopped by that afternoon for measurements. I met him a few days before Christmas, and he started work the Monday after Christmas. He and his team were neat, quiet, organized, professional and friendly, with excellent communication. He showed up exactly when we said he would. He worked diligently and speedily, finishing the installation on New Years Eve. Another installer, I imagine, would have taken the holiday off. He is a true artisan--he clearly takes pride in his work. I was lucky to reach him as he begins ramping up his business, and before the jobs he has scheduled in the new year. I've attached pictures to show the before--grimy carpet--and the after--porcelain tile that looks like driftwood. Working with Jasko was the smoothest renovation project I've ever had, and I cannot recommend him highly enough!
