After three previous breast surgeries with highly regarded Beverly Hills surgeons and spending a great deal of money I was still left unhappy with my results. I honestly began to believe that after three surgeries, this was simply something I would have to accept. My previous surgeries also left me with very visible, dark, and noticeable scars, which made me even more self-conscious. After everything I had already been through, I was extremely concerned about having another lift and creating even more scarring. Then I found Dr. Teitelbaum. I came to him in my mid-fifties with very droopy DD breasts, small silicone implants, three previous lifts, and significant scarring. Eight weeks after my surgery with Dr. Teitelbaum, I am now a beautiful, natural C cup without implants. He removed my implants and used fat grafting from my back and waist, and the transformation is beyond anything I imagined possible. My breasts are perky, lifted, youthful, beautifully shaped, and incredibly natural. I truly feel as though he gave me the breasts of a young woman again. I am absolutely over the moon with my results. And the scars are unbelievable. I am only eight weeks out, yet the new lift incisions are already so thin, light, and beautifully placed that they are barely noticeable. They were extremely uncomfortable in both size and feel. They didn't look horrible but I really needed them to be removed and replaced. I originally was an A size and the first implants surgery was done too large. I did not want that large of a size on my small frame. The doctor that did them first, took liberties to make them larger than I wanted. It was the 90's! In our consultation with Dr. Teitelbaum we discussed what was possible given the fact that we wanted to reduce the size A lot. He let us know what could be done to achieve the desired results. He did a truly beautiful job. I ended up with 210cc subglandular which were smaller than we thought possible at the time. They are more natural looking and feeling than I thought could be possible. Before surgery, I was very clear that I wanted a small, natural-looking BBL. Unfortunately, the result I received was not consistent with the aesthetic I had hoped for. The outcome appears much boxier and larger than what I had envisioned and discussed during my consultations. (I am willing to share photos documenting my experience.) I began expressing concerns about the shape almost immediately after surgery and was repeatedly reassured that I needed more time to heal, that swelling needed to resolve, and that the fat would eventually "settle." I trusted the process and waited patiently. However, after more than seven months, the concerns I raised from the beginning remain. I also experienced issues with the contour of my thighs that I brought up during follow-up appointments. I followed the recommendations I was given, including compression, multiple lymphatic massages, and foam placement, but I did not see meaningful improvement. What has been most difficult for me is not only the outcome itself, but the feeling that my concerns were never truly addressed. Prior to my septoplasty, I'd been unable to breathe through my left nostril due to a catastrophic sled riding accident I had as a kid, four decades ago. The surgeons back then did their best to put my nose back together, but my nose had lost its original aesthetic and like I said, I was mostly unable to breathe through one side. Not only did Dr. Salibian do a remarkable job at rebuilding a severely damaged septum, but he corrected the aesthetic damage at the same time. The work is perfect. When I was considering whether or not to tackle the aesthetic damage, I asked a very close friend who's an esteemed plastic surgeon in San Diego (specializing in breast augmentation and explants; he doesn't do septoplasty) for advice. He cautioned me that many if not most plastic surgeons doing rhinoplasty do mostly women so the tendency when doing men is to over-feminize. He asked for photos of Dr. Salibian's prior work, which I sent to him. He came back with a resounding "Go for it!!" I'm so glad I did. It's hard to explain, but my nose looks 100% better, perfectly balanced and symmetrical, while at the same time looking like my nose. I think people can tell something looks better without putting their finger on it and THAT is the dream. Put simply: Dr. Salibian is a very talented artist. Another intangible that I believe is absolutely crucial to the outcome in most surgeries, especially those involving aesthetic work, is the character of the physician.
