According to the office of Dr Batlin, the brain is not so much a spongey physical organ responsible for various physiological functions as it is a nebulous ghost receptacle that can sometimes be inhabited by demons, the exorcism of which medical care providers have no part. Despite describing the physical manifestations of severe anxiety, including urticaria, elevated blood pressure, elevated pulse, insomnia, anorexia, and panic attacks, the office repeatedly asserted that it has a policy of not providing FMLA for "non-medical" reasons, despite Dr Batlin handling the prescription of psychotropic medication (SNRIs) for same. For clarification, I was not requesting disability or worker's comp paperwork. I only needed a doctor's note to use my own earned, banked sick leave, of which I have plenty. That's it. Just a doctor's note enabling me to use my own sick leave as an interim measure while I sought the care of a psychiatrist. Instead I was repeatedly told to just go to the ER. I don't require inpatient psychiatric hospital treatment, so this repeated insistence that I seek unnecessary and expensive treatment instead of the simple and cost-free to anyone but myself remedy of time off is completely baffling. read more

Dr. Batlin has been my primary doctor for about 20 years. I think she is wonderful. She is warm, personable, knowledgeable and very thorough. She has discovered issues that I would not have known I needed to treat if she had not sent me for those tests. She takes her time to listen to her patients and provides good recommendations and options for treatment. She follows up and responds quickly to any calls or inquiries, either herself or via her assistant. Yes, her schedule is booked far in advance, but for urgent issues I have always been able to see her partner, Dr. Lakowski, within a day or two. In 20 years I have never had to resort to Urgent Care in order to be seen quickly. You do need to have patience to get an initial appointment with Dr. Batlin, but if you do see her, you won't want to see another doctor. read more

I have been with this provider for years. I have no issues. When Dr. Batlin was out of the office I saw her husband, Dr. Lakowsky. I have not had any issues with scheduling an appointment. Dr. Batlin doesn't rush the appointment, she is thorough and listens to any concerns I have. The office even answers the phone not like some other offices. This is yet another prospective patient who had the unfortunate experience of having to deal with the front office receptionist Carol/Carolyn today. After confirming that the office does indeed accept Blue Shield PPO Plan, she then had me email the front & back of my valid membership card to the office, only to be told that because it is associated with Covered CA, they will not accept this insurance. I contacted both Blue Shield & Covered CA & was informed that the ONLY reason the Dr Batlin's will not accept it, is simply because they do not want to do the paperwork necessary to process the insurance. How ridiculous is that! The only difference between an individual plan $$$$ & a Covered CA plan with Blue Shield is, the fact that an individual plan premium is paid in full by the patient & the Covered CA plan is subsidized my the State, so the premium cost to the patient is less with the State picking up the difference. No difference whatsoever in the compensation to the doctor. They're just too lazy to do the paperwork required. I guess a coffee break is much more important! Sorry but true! Between the rude receptionist @ the office's ridiculous procedural rules, do yourself a favor & go somewhere else. Check out the several other bad reviews for this office w/similar issues. Fair warning! DO NOT and I mean DO NOT try to choose this office for your PCP or for medical care! What an absolute joke. The unprofessionalism is disgusting. They were an option on my provider care list in my area...however, when calling to book an appointment, (after making several attempts to get through) I am then being told that she is on an extended medical leave and that her husband is seeing her patients. Then I said fine for now....so After confirming that her name is on my medical card, she then proceeds to tell me that I have to email her a picture of my insurance card to even see if I can make an appointment at this office. Then in the meantime, while I'm getting ready to email my card over to her(receptionist). She then proceeds to tell me that due to her personal schedule and her family, her Appointments often get rescheduled!! What an absolute joke! why would her name even be on my list of providers that are accepting new patients?!!! Then to top it off the receptionist lady at the front hung up on me after me telling her that she should take this doctors name off of the list of providers with other insurance companies. Unfortunately, it is impossible to schedule an appointment with Dr. Batlin even if you are an existing patient. I called because all of a sudden I am having persistent headaches and I can't get an appointment for 6 MONTHS! They referred me to her husband who I could see in one month. They could "fit me in" for a zoom call tomorrow, but couldn't provide a time...I just had to be on standby from 8:00 to 2:00 which is not feasible with my work schedule. Terrible customer service at front desk. Doctor doesn't hold to a regular schedule (was told she's not in every day) so it's really hard to get in for an appointment when YOU need it -- not when it's convenient for the doctor. After a year of alternating between trying to see her and then instead seeing her husband (Dr. Lakowski) I switched to another practice. Phew! what a difference. My mom called Dr Batlin's office this morning. She's calling to make an appointment as a new patient, The RECEPTIONIST that answer the call has the worst customer service etiquette.ever. She was told that my mom should know the "doctors schedule" and "they don't do it this way" . My mom is so confused and did not understand what she meant by that. How can she expect a patient to know the "doctor's schedule " if we have not even saw her yet! she was told Dr. Batlin's next available appointment is not until April. I can go on and on. My mom is an 80 years old and the receptionist should not talk to anybody this way, she should be written up!!! I work for Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation, if Dr Batlin is part of Sutter, would like to get this address. I'm sure someone is checking Yelp reviews. Or I can also do a MIDAS report. I'm sure the providers are nice and great, but if we have a PSR (receptionist) that is rude and had no idea what customer service is. that makes the office looks bad. Dr. Andra Batlin has been my general physician for about 5 years. She is very friendly and communicates complex medical terms very clearly and in easy-to-understand terms. She has been very flexible and truly listens when I ask her about various medical studies which I've come across on well-respected medical websites. She has successfully diagnosed several potentially-serious health issues I've encountered, providing the recommended solution (e.g. changes in diet; new medication; medical procedure) which has in each case resulted in resolution of the problem. I highly recommend her as a very knowledgeable, empathetic, and open-minded general physician. Her office associates are also very professional and courteous. read more

I see Dr. Batlin and sometimes her partner Dr. Lakowsky for primary care issues. They usually get me in quickly, help me schedule specialist appointments, and follow up on anything that needs to be done. When I have even mildly concerning results, Dr. Batlin often calls me herself. I'm really happy to be part of their patient pool. I find they are very busy, so sometimes calling can be difficult (you need to be prepared to hold) - that's probably because they take care of their patients with personal detail. read more

This is specifically to the person who was working in the desk this morning, I work for an assisted living so i'm calling for one of our patients. I called first and this lady said to hold, so I was waiting and waiting for 7 mins, but I received a call for me to check one of my patients so I hang up and was trying to see my patient first but my coworker said she got it. I called for the second time and SAME LADY said "We're short staffed, I understand your call is important." i told her I only have a quick question and she ignored me and had the guts to ask if I want to hold or a call back. I told her I want a call back ( BECAUSE I DON'T JUST SIT IN MY DESK TO BE ON HOLD I HAVE TO DO MY JOB TOO) this rude lady had the balls to tell me "you're going to hold". I am not going to hold I left a message on the MA's voicemail and was done. Please stop hiring rude people who are not happy with their jobs I was once a patient services rep for doctors and never did I treat my patients or anyone like how I was treated. read more

Everyone in her office is great. Dr. Batlin is sooo good with you and amazing at diagnosing issues. It is important not just for the doctor to be compassionate, but the staff and these people totally are. Had to open Yelp account just to write this about Dr. Batlin. I've been seeing her for about five years for various chronic medical conditions and she's been nothing short of wonderful when it comes to care, compassion, and proper diagnosis. It is difficult if not impossible to find any business these days that truly cares about their clients but Dr. Batlin is just that. She's moved her offices now twice since I started coming to her but I always felt truly taken care of and never forgotten about. Her staff is great and very responsive. Dr. Batlin had guided and directed me through my illnesses and sent me to excellent specialist and thanks to her I'm able to function and live a productive life. I will be forever grateful. read more
