I then met a woman of color and asked her respectfully if it would be weird or misappropriattion for me (as a young white woman) to get braids in my hair to help my natural hair grow in instead of shaving my head or spending thousands on extensions. I found the first store associate I could (young girl whose name starts with an N) and asked her to show me around the store, and asked her all the questions I had (a lot). She was so patient with me and understanding. An internet search on Halloween supplies in Kingston is more likely to show you numerous references to the seasonal store in the Hudson Valley Mall. Don't believe it. Go here first. The first floor has the majority of the party (including Halloween) supplies, cosmetics, and make-up ranging from inexpensive stuff for the kids' costumes to professional grade theater make-up. Upstairs is awesome! They have costumes of all kinds including costumes for kids, adults, inexpensive, higher-quality, rentals, etc. Side rooms and shelves include all kinds of props and accessories, hats, plastic weapons, etc. They have several dressing rooms too. I've also never seen such an incredible assortment of Mardi Gras style masks. If you're going there for Halloween supplies, my recommendation would be to go the 2nd week of October.
