I have worked in several residential settings throughout my career: A high school boarding school, college dormitories, and group homes for people with severe mental illness. I know there are many challenges in these types of settings, but from our experience with Sea Bluffs, we (my mom, sister and I) feel like every staff experience we have had in the last year-and-a-half has been top notch. We feel like everyone that works regularly with my mom on the Care Team is so kind, thoughtful, and anticipatory of her needs etc., and we soooo appreciate it. Also the maintenance staff has been very responsive, kind and respectful in all of their interactions, and the dining staff is always wonderful! Some stand outs to me, for what it's worth are Donna, Christine, Carmen, Jay, and Martha. Again, I think everyone's great, but these folks have consistently been excellent. And Jay is literally everywhere all at once :) I truly don't know how Donna does what she does, she has been a phenomenal presence since she was hired shortly after my mom arrived here. Always smiling, always helpful, an excellent communicator, always good at problem solving, always swift acting, always going above and beyond. She is a treasure! And of course with the two of you at the helm of overseeing all the hiring and training and culture building, I'd like to send along my gratitude to the two of you as well! Thanks for everything!

Steve Orta said he had a care giver by the name of Sonia Lenville lined up to arrive at our house today at 8:00AM. I called him at 8:15 and advised him Sonia had not yet shown up. He tried calling her, but no answer. Steve then called and said he would work to find someone else. My wife had knee surgery yesterday, and I had a funeral to attend today. I was running out of time On a very stressful day. Steve lives very close to us, and I asked if he would come until he found a replacement. That is the last I heard from Steve. I was left to sort out his mess with this very unreliable Sonia on my own. I would steer clear of Steve, Sonia Lenville and Healthy at Home. They are a 3-ring circus.

So it was very difficult for me to visit him often. That's where Angel On My Shoulder comes in. They coordinated with Wayne's doctors and the facility outstandingly. I never had to worry. They carefully monitored him from making sure he had enough shirts to changes in his diet. They would visit Wayne twice a week and take him for walks around the facility. All the coordinators at Angel On My Shoulder have excellent bedside manners. Just talk to Carol for five minutes and you'll know what I mean. Home Instead was so understanding and flexible working with my father until we had the perfect match for him. Linda became almost like a relative to our family because she was so caring and helpful. She helped my dad around the house, drove him to the store to shop and provided companionship! Rebecca and Lauren managed everything on the care coordination side, and they were outstanding. Responsive, proactive, and easy to communicate with throughout the entire process. That kind of communication matters enormously when your family is stressed and trying to make good decisions fast. The caregivers themselves were professional, kind, and clearly knew what they were doing. My father was well looked after, and that peace of mind is hard to put a price on. Tanya did an amazing job at changing grandma, feeding her, keeping her calm, and just generally taking care of her. My grandma always looked forward to seeing Tanya! Tanya helped out with so much at the house so I could finally rest while taking care of my grandma. The care team gave me tips and tricks to take better care of my grandma. Tanya and the team always showed up early, and stayed a little late afterword to spend time with grandma chatting with her. Tanya was able to calm grandma down when she was anxious about or in pain. Her wound care was perfect! I would recommend right at home to everyone. They went above and beyond taking care of grandma, and by extension taking care of me!
