I have worked in several residential settings throughout my career: A high school boarding school, college dormitories, and group homes for people with severe mental illness. I know there are many challenges in these types of settings, but from our experience with Sea Bluffs, we (my mom, sister and I) feel like every staff experience we have had in the last year-and-a-half has been top notch. We feel like everyone that works regularly with my mom on the Care Team is so kind, thoughtful, and anticipatory of her needs etc., and we soooo appreciate it. Also the maintenance staff has been very responsive, kind and respectful in all of their interactions, and the dining staff is always wonderful! Some stand outs to me, for what it's worth are Donna, Christine, Carmen, Jay, and Martha. Again, I think everyone's great, but these folks have consistently been excellent. And Jay is literally everywhere all at once :) I truly don't know how Donna does what she does, she has been a phenomenal presence since she was hired shortly after my mom arrived here. Always smiling, always helpful, an excellent communicator, always good at problem solving, always swift acting, always going above and beyond. She is a treasure! And of course with the two of you at the helm of overseeing all the hiring and training and culture building, I'd like to send along my gratitude to the two of you as well! Thanks for everything!

So it was very difficult for me to visit him often. That's where Angel On My Shoulder comes in. They coordinated with Wayne's doctors and the facility outstandingly. I never had to worry. They carefully monitored him from making sure he had enough shirts to changes in his diet. They would visit Wayne twice a week and take him for walks around the facility. All the coordinators at Angel On My Shoulder have excellent bedside manners. Just talk to Carol for five minutes and you'll know what I mean. If I find myself in a position to be a trustee again I will definitely call them.

Steve Orta said he had a care giver by the name of Sonia Lenville lined up to arrive at our house today at 8:00AM. I called him at 8:15 and advised him Sonia had not yet shown up. He tried calling her, but no answer. Steve then called and said he would work to find someone else. My wife had knee surgery yesterday, and I had a funeral to attend today. I was running out of time On a very stressful day. Steve lives very close to us, and I asked if he would come until he found a replacement. That is the last I heard from Steve. I was left to sort out his mess with this very unreliable Sonia on my own. I would steer clear of Steve, Sonia Lenville and Healthy at Home. They are a 3-ring circus.

They were out the door in about 2 1/2 hrs and told me not to bring my sister-in-law to her new apartment in Mariposa Assisted Living until about 2pm . We walked in and everything was done. Furniture placed perfectly--cabinets filled - clothes hung --both TV"s working (thanks to guys from Mariposa) It was a painless move for my 94 year old sister-in -law . My family needed companion care for my 87 year old grandma. We spoke to Darla and received a free assessment to better serve my grandmother's needs & Set up our days and times. On the expected date of arrival no one showed! I then called to inquire what happen, and I was told there must've been a miscommunication and the girl that was picked out for us had already taken a full-time position. I was then offered the following day with a new caregiver, I politely agreed. That next morning I received a phone call from Darla explaining The caregiver schedule to come will not be coming. So she would be sending her assistant instead. Giving the benefit of the doubt I agreed. Two hours into the four hour shift I was pulled aside by the assistant and rudely judged and shamed for "drug paraphernalia" seen on an outdoor table. This drug paraphernalia she referred to was a small marijuana pipe that one is legal in the state of California and two medically prescribed to a member of my household and has been prescribed to that person for years. When I tried to explain that to her she became agitated and rude. I stated that I wasn't sure if this was going to work out, I don't think it's appropriate to be judge and treated poorly in my own home. She then snapped back at me saying "If this isn't going to work out I need to know now"! I explained that I wanted to discuss it with her boss. Her response was "NO! I am her assistant you'll deal with me, if this isn't gonna work out I want to know now because I am leaving"!! So I kindly dismissed and and she stormed out. Her behavior was so unbelievably unprofessional!! I could understand there being an issue if someone was smoking around her or other caregivers but that was not the case.

I felt she truly cared and that's why they got two stars instead of zero. Dahlia gets five stars! Unfortunately, Home Helpers recently sent us a letter stating they were going to have to change their fee schedule due to changing labor laws. Of course, they had known about this change for quite some time and they had time to plan for it. However, they advised that our fee increase was to go into effect less than a week after we received the letter. This gave us little to no time to make any changes. Darla, the manager, also tried to make it sound like we, personally, could be sued if she didn't implement the fee increases. The is ridiculous and just seemed to be written to intimidate us. She wrote, "This has to go into effect on November the 7th as there are cases that have gone to court on the caregivers not being paid correctly, which means you and I will be sued." For the record, I don't think it was the huge fee increase that bothered me as much as the lack of time for us to make plans. Fortunately, we were able to make arrangements with another company. Darla then told us that "It is really a shame that you will not pay her what she is worth. Good luck" Doesn't really appear that their management is very compassionate to seniors unfortunately. Again, Dahlia, the caretaker was awesome. Management not so much.

We found out they were charging Home nursing prices for a non nurse caregiver. the caregiver carried out medical tasks that she had no license for and then destroyed our personal log book.we caught it all on video and no one at the company has ever called to remedy the problem. they have the billing department making threats but no one at the top,if there is anyone?No one is Reaching out.Despite multiple calls and complaints during the altercation,everyone lost their telephones.Months later they still can not pick up a telephone and ask what the hell happened!?!?!
