My primary care doctor, Dr. Serna, is amazing and always takes great care of me. I had an appointment with her today, but the office called to let me know she wasn't in and asked if I wanted to reschedule or see another doctor. Since I've been in significant ear pain, I chose to see Dr. Ashizawa just to get a referral to an ENT. My appointment was at 3:00, but he didn't come in until 3:50. After briefly looking in my ear and doing a quick ear drum test, he said nothing was wrong and that there was nothing more he could do. I asked if he could please send a referral to an ENT since I'm in a lot of pain and pressure, but he shrugged and said there was no point because they wouldn't do anything different. That's simply not true, he barely investigated the issue. I left after two hours with no diagnosis or help and am now debating whether to go to the ER or pay out of pocket to see a specialist. I'd highly recommend avoiding Dr. Ashizawa, he seemed completely dismissive and uninterested in helping his patients.

Highly recommend this facility. Appointment was quick and I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. Richard and Al were knowledgeable, professional, and very efficient. They explained everything clearly and guided me through the procedure painlessly. The wait was like 5 minutes, and they came out and brought me to the back. I learned that they also have a technician working on Saturday! Just came back again today for some more X-Rays and Al was extremely helpful. He was very quick with the process. The woman who took my blood didn't even ask me how I was doing or really anything. She was there to do her job, but as someone who tends to run on the nervous side, I would have loved a little small talk as a distraction. I am only writing this because I think it's important for the facility to know that is helpful for nervous patients. Also, I've never left a blood draw feeling pain before, so that was new. She told me it might bruise and to ice it because she used a small vain...why? Usually I'm told my veins are great and I've never experienced pain after. Very strange. The biggest benefit is it was only about 10 minutes from check in and I was out of there.

We transferred both mom and dad over 3 years ago. He was already on hospice and she was just ready for assisted living. Thus, they moved into 2 separate rooms as we knew he would predecease her soon. What a breath of fresh air! Caring, professional, long-term management and staff. Beautiful and spotless facility inside and out. Wonderful activities and special events. Amazing dining experience. My dad boasted to friends and family that he felt like he was at home. He loved to sit by the fireplace and read. Mom loved bingo and scrabble with friends. And, when each of my parents health began to fail, Aegis was quick to recommend extra care and eventually hospice, letting them live out their life and die peacefully.

People tend to think that assisted living is for people who are ill. She is 96 and the upkeep on her home was just getting to be too difficult. Aegis provided relief from that but more importantly has given her fun activities and new friends. The staff there is wonderful, friendly and can help if health issues do arise. They communicate consistently, provide a welcoming and pleasant environment, and have many daily activities and weekly outings. There are separate areas for memory care patients and assisted living, and the grounds and rooms are really lovely, I'm writing this because if you have an elderly loved one considering a move such as this, I wouldn't hesitate to have them move here. The socialization is a huge thing and I think her days are much happier than when she was living alone, even if she doesn't need much assistance at this time. Was definitely the right move and better sooner than later. Thanks to all the staff at Aegis for providing a great "home" for our seniors.

She denied a refill on a vital prescription for my son while he's away in college on the other side of the country saying he had to come in for a check up. He was just in 6 months ago. They refused a telehealth visit and then when I called 3 times to ask the doctor to speak to me, I received no call back, no message, no care. He had to scramble and find a new doctor so he could get his medication. Sadly, no follow through and a collapse of the medical system and therefore, our whole family is no longer going there.

I've visited or called every day to see if they've gotten her cable setup and they appear to be dragging their feet. There is a huge lack of communication between management, maintenance, and front desk staff that delays tasks and doesn't communicate progress with residents or their families. The other day a front desk staff members started clipping her nails while answering my questions with vague answers and "I'll leave a note" for staff who seems to always leave before the end of the day. I can't seem to get straight answers from anyone and I rarely get calls or texts back when I'm promised any. Overall, I'm frustrated with the move in and hope to see some changes in this facility soon. I'll be looking at alternative options if things don't change soon. EDIT: Katy from CSL gave me a call and we had a great chat about some of the frustrations I had regarding the delayed cable installation and communication issues. She also was able to clarify some of my questions and ease my biggest concerns/worries. She is such a sweet and caring woman, and I'm glad we were able to talk. I am very hopeful that things will go more smoothly now that some of the initial move-in bumps have been handled.
