I said I want Dentures, I was filing Bankruptcy (not true) so I'm not paying out $7,000 cash and my Insurance must be Utilized. The woman was supposed to text me the site to fill out the registration forms on line that day, she didn't. Today the 05-01-25 I'm left a voicemail from them saying they don't accept Delta Care any longer and referred me to Smile Dentistry!! THERE A JOKE!!

He asked where my last dentist was located. I told him I moved here from downtown Sacramento. He ASSUMED that I went to some substandard clinic. He kept saying wow! They did a great job on your crowns! He was very pompous and repeated more than once about the quality of my downtown crowns! I should have told him that my last dental office was much nicer than his basic clinic. I am so glad that I do not need any work done. If I did I would not go back to Dr. Alan Tanner. Having a classy address doesn't make you classy! He needs to check his attitude.

I went in for emergency care for a toothache in a molar when my regular dental office was often booked out and told me my insurance maxed out which I thought couldn't be correct as I didn't know dental insurance often had limits on what it will cover each year. Had to make multiple appointments and they were all close together. At Placerville Dental, the receptionist lady who handles billing told me that my insurance would fully cover it. A few months later, I received a surprise bill statement in the mail of nearly $1,000, apparently, I was lied to. I called asking why this happened. I was told it just took a while to verify with my insurance. Seems like a lame excuse. They said I had five cavities in my lower teeth. They numbed my entire lower jaw and did five fillings at once. Later, one of my premolars had a toothache. My regular dentist from Mather Field Dental recommended I get a root canal in that tooth and consult with an endodontist. The endodontist looked at my X-rays and said that the filling Placerville Dental placed in that tooth is right up against the nerve, irritating it. I got a root canal in the tooth that probably could have been avoided if the dentist at Placerville Dental did a better job. Placerville Dental did a cleaning and a non-surgical laser treatment in addition to a cleaning I got. As someone with health-related anxiety/OCD, this gave me the illusion that I was being given exceptional care. One of the times at Placerville Dental, when I expressed dental discomfort, the dentist dismissed me saying it was food on my teeth, which I did have as I didn't have time to brush my teeth properly beforehand. Yes, it's a good idea to clean your teeth right before dental appointments, but the dentist remarked that in such a way that it made me feel scolded. How rude. At one point, the dentist at Placerville Dental took X-rays and this time said the tooth with the toothache had irreversible pulpitis, but when I went to an emergency visit with my regular dentist, Dr. Tapang at Mather Field Dental, he took an X-ray and he also agreed that there was an infection in the tooth. He prescribed me a course of antibiotics and it made the toothache go away while Placerville Dental didn't do sh*t.

The energy in that office is wonderful. They have awesome customer service here, they really care about their patients. On my first visit he explain things to me that most people should already know about their teeth but don't, basic stuff that they probably learn in dental school that most of us don't know. Something even as small as how to floss my teeth properly. I feel that I'm in good hands. I hope that he will be my dentist as long as his business is around which I am sure are many years to come. I really love going to this dental office. He is very personable, very kind, very mild mannered. And answers all my questions and concerns. I told the receptionist that no, to check the information again as I had only one tooth with a broken crown. When I went to schedule the surgery at the front desk and get the estimate, I was told that if I paid by cash, I would get a discount. I agreed to the price and said I would bring in a cashier's check. A few hours later, they called and said that they made a mistake and would not be able to give me a discount. I still agreed to have them do the surgery. A couple of days ago, the office called me back and said that they made another mistake and forgot to charge me a fee, even though it was in the doctor's notes. They also said they wanted to discuss with me my 1-star review I gave them. The fee went up another large amount; the original quote was for $8500.00, and now it was over $13,000.00. They told me that Delta Dental informed them that I did not get the discount price because the surgery was not necessary, so the price went up over $2800, even though the office knew that my insurance was not paying a dime for the surgery. When I asked about the price increase, the employee I talked with was more concerned with the 1 star review I gave them the fee increase. She would not talk about any discount until I talked about the bad review I gave them. I have all the paperwork with the numbers written down I was given. I recommend going to a different oral surgeon.

Called Cameron Park Family Dentistry when a crown I had received 6 weeks prior from a different…read moredentist had abscessed . I was stressed and dealing with a series of other personal things and feeling overwhelmed. From the moment I called I was greeted by Jamie who was so kind, non judgmental about my dental concerns and able to get me in within a couple of hours, even though I had never been there before. Lamar was the dental assistant who helped me when I arrived and really brought my worries and anxiety down with his friendly and engaging personality. Dr. Nav was kind and spotted the issue right away and set me up to come back 2 days later to get a root canal and crown. He let me know everything could be done in only 1 visit as he makes the crowns right there in his office. He made sure I was taking antibiotics leading up to the appointment and I left there feeling like I had made the right choice calling them. I'll admit I was so anxious for the days leading up to the appointment and not feeling great from the infection & some back issues but I was met again by Lamar who once again made the whole ordeal less stressful by really paying attention to what he could do to make me more comfortable and at ease & even offered a pillow for my back that was hurting. I was booked for a 3 hour appointment and expecting the root canal to take at least 1.5-2 hours of that time & dreading every minute but Dr Nav and Lamar were so efficient and worked so well together that it was completed in just an hour! They have all the latest technology & Dr Nav is an excellent dentist. After the procedure I relaxed in the chair while the tooth was made in about 25-30 mins and the fitting took an additional 5-10 mins. I have really bad TMJ and I've never left a dentist chair without a migraine but this time there was only minimal jaw discomfort and no headache whatsoever which is unheard of for me and my dental work history. I was so pleased with the results and the kindness of the staff.
