GET A SECOND OPINION! Anderson tried to overcharge me nearly $10,000 for a Carrier system they quoted at over $22,000. I paid $12,921 for the EXACT SAME SYSTEM, exact same model numbers, everything. They say they are a factory authorized dealer and that is why they can offer such good prices. BS. Their competitors actually pass the savings on to their customers, not whatever Anderson does. Decades of loyalty wiped out by terrible customer service and poor quality work. My family has used Anderson for decades--I literally cannot remember another HVAC company ever coming to our house. Sadly, over the last few years, the quality has plummeted, and they seem to have zero regard for customer loyalty. We invested $11k into a new unit in 2023. A week later, it stopped cooling because it had no coolant (did they forget to fill it, or did it have a leak? Who knows). Now, three years later, we are having coolant issues again. This should not be happening on a brand-new, $11,000 investment. They do not stand behind their products or their work. The technician quality is also highly inconsistent. They have a couple of great ones--Billy P. is the absolute BEST and the only reason we stayed so long--but most leave a lot to be desired. Because something always seems to break when other techs visit, we always request Billy. Today was the final straw. I called to confirm Billy was coming, only to be told he wasn't. I asked to briefly check with my husband and said I'd call right back. In the minutes it took me to call back, they completely canceled our appointment and gave it away. Their next available opening? August 19th--six weeks from now. Mind you, I am a paying member of their "Comfort Club," which is supposed to guarantee faster service. Between that and decades of loyalty, you would think our business mattered. It clearly doesn't. I cannot continue to pay a company that cares so little for its customers. read more

Im sorry to have to write this review but it's necessary, I feel. A new image is actually Anderson Heating and Cooling now. I called to schedule a residential boiler service. The tech showed up with only a clipboard in hand. Normally, they have tools etc and are ready to work. They typically drain some water out, check for sediment, clean the sight glass, open the pilot cover, clean it, vaccum it. The tech did NONE of this. He was here for a half hour, charged me a 100 bucks and left. Not exactly a boiler tune up that i paid for. If you have a residential boiler system I suggest not using this firm. Years ago the tech who came out did a great job. This year was not the same situation. read more

Beware. "Customer Satisfaction", ha. A "$49 Furnace Tune-Up Special" on Tuesday. Tech leaves, a little later I find a temperature sensor still stuck in a hole drilled into the ductwork. Sunday, 5 days later, furnace is dead. The blinking code displayed "No Earth Ground" as per the manual. Taking off the front panel I find a ground wire basically just hanging there from a loose screw on the burner cover panel. Monday, $1,150 to fix, as the control board is fried. A loose ground can do that after a number of cycles. Possible carelessness on re-assembly after tune-up, equipment left behind and hole not plugged, 'but the equipment was fine'. I challenged the $1,150. But since I used an online coupon available to anyone, a gift card given after a previous servicing, and the tune-up was a "special" available to anyone, those are Anderson's stated concessions toward my "satisfaction", a 25+ year customer. The installers and service technicians I've dealt with on several occasions with this company were decent. However, sales and warranty service leave something to be desired. In a nutshell, I was ripped off. I called this company out for a routine inspection on the MagicPak in my condo, during which it was revealed my heat exchanger did not look good (rust/corrosion on the burner inlets). The unit was 15 years old, so this was not entirely surprising to me. They quoted me $6995 for a replacement unit, which I (stupidly) agreed to without getting quotes from other companies. I was told the sales person would confirm inventory and contact me back with an install date. This was August 1, 2022. Over 2 weeks went by with no update or installation date. I called back on August 19th and was told my "unit came in today". How about that. Install was scheduled, installers arrived on time and the work was completed quickly. In January 2023, my neighbor (who has a bigger condo than I) called Anderson for a quote on HIS MagicPak. He was quoted $4995, a full $2000 less than what I was quoted. Note: neither mine nor his are high-efficiency units, so I do not understand the $2000 price difference. A few days later I called them to get an explanation of why, over a span of only 4 months, my neighbor was quoted $2000 less for his MagicPak than I was. I was told a manager would call me back. I never got a call back. Some weeks later, I finally traced down a strange low-frequency vibration in my ductwork to an abnormal vibration coming from the inducer motor. I called Anderson on Jan 6, 2023, and requested someone come out, verify my thoughts, and replace the motor under warranty. Someone was sent out the same day and confirmed my findings, and put the order in for the warranty replacement motor. Over the next 4 or 5 weeks, I called at least 3 times to get an update on when the work would be done. I never received call backs to any of my inquiries. Finally got a call back from them on February 10, and the replacement was done a few days later. While the service technicians and installers were generally good, based upon their questionable pricing practices and long wait times for warranty repairs (this may have been the result of supply issues, but I would have appreciated at least one call back stating that), I cannot recommend this company. read more

Had furnace and a/c installed in October 2024. Guy came out in spring to get the a/c going. Now it is June 22,, 2025, we're under a severe heat watch and can't use the a/c because it is leaking. We're told no one could come out for 2 days! Or, for an after hours emergency they want to charge $195!!! Should be a zero. Been a customer for 10 years. Purchased furnace, A/C and Water Heater from Anderson. On the MVP plan which gives discounts on parts and priority service. Blower motor on the furnace went bad based on service call on Friday. Ordered part as was told it should be in Monday and dispatch will call to get it installed. I called Monday afternoon and was told part was not in. I called Tuesday afternoon because they are not proactive to call customer on status. Part will be in Thursday and manager will call me to update. Thursday no call from manager I have to call again. Dispatch can not track the package could not contact the suppler they are clueless. I hoped nobody needed parts that day. At this point I wanted to call another company but said to myself it has to be here soon. It's Friday again and I have to call for todays status. I demanded that the someone be at my house at noon to install part or I was done. Nothing, but don't be surprised that is how they function for MVP customers. My husband called Saturday to schedule an appt, the tech called back and told us he would recommend coming out Monday. Stated he would put us on the books for Monday, my husband gave him my number to call back since he would be unavailable on Monday. My husband received a call but could not answer so when available he texted me to call in. When I called in the lady updated with my phone number but my husband received this text when I called in about an actual appt. I have a couple of hours then called into office, where the lady that answered said dispatch wasn't at their desk but dispatch was suppose to call me back with an actual time. Never received a call from dispatch, no technician came out, I waited until 8:30 this morning and still no call back. After 7 days,and not hearing from them,I called and they said the part had not arrived.This is April in northeast Ohio where it still gets cold at night. Called every day to check on part.They could not tell me when the part would be in. Finally after 12 days with no heat,I called Lew's Reliable Heat. Tech was out within 1 hour,diagnosed problem and had it fixed within 1 hour. Won't use them again. read more

this used to be a good company, but was sold to new ownership in recent years. I have had a maintenance contract with them for 10 years. You would think if I had an urgent situation, that I could at least get a call back. I woke up in the middle of the night on Christmas Eve with no heat. I left a message with the answering service. I've yet to hear from them. When I continued to call the office the next day, I hit prompt #1 for urgent needs and my call was disconnected (10 times). Follow up...did finally hear from them and was told to get some estimates on the damage. Long story short, I got one, got low balled on it and since the floor was getting worse, I agreed to take it, so we could finally get the floors fixed, with winter just around the corner. Overall, it could've been handled better. Their service guys were pretty decent, except for the installation of the condensate drain. We had Anderson put in a Furnace and AC unit as part of a large remodel. Our Rep was Robert Fishleigh, and he is fantastic. Always listened, returning emails and calls quickly. The one thing to remember is a large project like this, not everything is going to go perfect. It's how the company handles issues. They corrected every issue or concern we had. Paid $200 for call which wasn't a problem they then re-charged my system, didn't tell me how much it would cost, then took advantage of me by charging me way more than it should have been.
