The atmosphere is really unsettling with all of their books that seem to lean right wing conservative. As a Christian myself I was initially interested, seeing books by CS Lewis and others. Neither myself nor my colleague are overly creative people, but Peyton did a great job of making our vision into a reality! It wouldn't have been possible without Peyton's creative vision; she's a major asset to C&G without a doubt. Thanks for all the help!

All of the employees here are super friendly, and the store overall has a great vibe. Fair warning, it is always PACKED around the holidays, but for good reason-- there isn't a better spot to grab a Christmas gift. The prices are very reasonable, and I think the selection is pretty good for the size of the store. During my most recent visit, my MIL purchased me a beautiful edition of Paradise Lost for ~$20, which I thought was a steal. It's well printed and contains a lot of the gorgeous Doré woodblock prints, which I absolutely love. I will definitely be back!

I knew the author and title and walked up to the register to ask where I might find it, but the two employees were engaged in conversation and didn't even acknowledge my presence for at least 3 minutes. When the red-headed female employee did finally acknowledge me, it was with an irritated smirk, as if I was disturbing them. This dismissive and disrespectful behavior was repeated several times before I decided to leave. I have over 30 years experience in business ownership and retail management and this is absolutely no way to treat prospective customers. You should never make a customer wait without being acknowledged while you engage in conversation with another employee or are looking down at the register. When you do engage with a customer, you should be welcoming, friendly and polite. I see from prior reviews that I am not the only one to have experienced this kind of behavior and don't know how they've stayed in business so long with such rude employees. There are no return visits here in my future.
