Paneen is my go to gal! She gives excellent massages with just the right amount of pressure for me.

I have no real complaints. My masseuse really targeted my tight areas. The place was clean with relaxing music playing. When I arrived I couldn't find parking so I called to let them know why I would be running late and the owner moved his car parked in front of the building to give me a spot, which I thought was super dope. The pricing was great. I did 90min for 90 dollars. My only nit picky feedback would be that it was pretty chilly in there. The towel covering my face was a little too light and I was able to see the light shining through. The table is a board with a hole cut out for the face. I would totally go back! read more

I've been coming here for many months now with my boyfriend. We always leave feeling refreshed and honestly the massages are the best here. Full body. If you book online thru their website it's relatively cheap, for what it's worth I think a couples massage for 90 minutes is $160 total without tip. I will continue coming here because out of many massage parlors I've been to, they have always been consistent and really amazing. My partner likes James and Nick a lot because they get very deep into the tissues. Highly recommend! read more

Just got done with my massage. This is my second time here and the first time, my experience was great. This second time around I got James as my therapist. When I first got there the lady at the desk asked what kind of massage I wanted and I said Swedish. She then followed that up with "where would you want him to focus?" I said, full body, I need everything. We then laughed about it and she said okay, you're very tense. Now it's time for the massage to start, he starts off great focusing on my back. As time passes I realize he is still focusing on my back... He also didn't even get close to my glutes or IT band until I stopped him and said, " you know you can also do my glutes and legs." He spoke English so I know the there wasn't any language barrier. He is also young, around my age so I'm not sure if he felt insecure or intimidated but once he got done with doing my legs. He says "massage is done" This entire time I was faced down. Didn't turn me around, didn't do my arms, neck, head, etc. Please don't ask where we would want our therapist to focus if it's not going to be respected. I believe the first time I came I had another male therapist whose name I didn't get. He did amazing. I didn't feel one bit of guilt walking out of there without tipping him. Paid for the service but quality wasn't there. read more

The service is freindly but the staff missed a lot. They forgot to ask any questions before the massage and then after being asked for a Swedish massage, my wife received a Thai massage instead. When repeatedly mentioning that it hurts, the missus did not change her approach. As for location, that is something that they should change. The area is very dirty and smelled of urine and feces. The part of town is very sketchy! I would suggest rebranding and relocation. read more

We have visited twice and love the quiet peaceful atmosphere once you step inside the doors. We've enjoyed the 90min hot stone couple massages. Be vocal on the pressure desired on your massage--can be quite firm. We come away feeling refreshed and calm. We found deals on Groupon and while making the reservation we mentioned it and was honored. Great staff all around too. Be careful where you park in the area, some of the surrounding stores will tow if you use their space. If you're in the area, highly recommend read more

Ancient Thai Massage - Signage - Massage Near Me - Los Angeles, California

We got a couples massage on Groupon and the appointment was made the same day. They took our voucher number and thankfully there was no additional cost to us. The front desk receptionist was really friendly. We absolutely LOVED our massages. I felt like my masseuse took her time with every crevice of my body. It didn't feel rushed or like it was less than the paid for time like some of the other massage places I've used before. My partner also loved his massage as well and his immediate response was that it was great and that he really needed it. We will definitely be coming back! read more

Pros: they book your appointment right away. You can call or text the number on their website. Staff are super helpful and kind with questions you might have. Massages were also relaxing. Cons: did not like how loud some people were outside and how close our room location was for both experiences because you could hear the street noises a lot making it difficult to mentally relax. I know it's not their fault but wish it could be a better experience. read more

The best humans I've met this far!! I misplaced $500 at the salon went home to look before I called this establishment to see if I left it. That was two hours after the best massage!! They went to check , found it, and returned it to me asap. In a world of need there is good people still. Not knowing how hard life is for the both of us , we remained in love!!! Please go check them out. It's worth it ALLLLL! read more

My husband and I came here for a massage on a Sunday afternoon. Ancient Thai Massage is located on a street in Hollywood that looks a bit dodgy, so my husband was a bit worried about coming here, but we parked close to the massage place and everything went smoothly. The lobby and overall ambiance here are a little bit lacking, but it's definitely a good deal in terms of pricing. We did a 60-minute couples massage and both really enjoyed it. Since we don't live in the area, I don't think we would come back here, but would recommend this place to anybody looking for a great massage at an affordable price. read more

Minus a star, this is NOT a place to come relax. You will hear all sorts of loud conversations Phones ringing People having whole conversations Doors closing People moving around etc. But other than that PENNY ROCKED MY THAI/ Swedish massage. Her pressure was Sooooo hard and I LOVED IT. She got on top of that table and on my back and went to WORK!!! The stretching part was much need. I will say she used WAYYYYYYYY too much oil. I mean I felt like a fish sliding across a wet table!! ON A SHEET no less! When I thought she knew she had ENOUGH oil, here comes the squirt sound of MORE OIL! But penny was worth every bit of money! Street parking only Place looks dingy outside Very crammed and not super nice inside None of that mattered once my massage started read more

Good value for prices, they usually have a deal I can jump on. Nothing fancy for ambiance, but every person I've ever gotten a massage from has done a good job. They have the poles above to let them walk on your back, which I love. read more

Came to Ancient Thai Massage for date night. We got a 90 minute couples massage on Groupon and had an appointment for 4:30pm on a Sunday afternoon. The first thing they do is ask if you need to use the restroom and then confirm the massage that you booked (whether it's a Thai, Swedish, or combo). Then, they'll lead you into a room with 2 massage tables and leave you to undress. For the Swedish massage and combo, you'll need to take everything off except your underwear (top undergarments also need to be taken off for females) and you can hide under the bed sheet that they provide for you. The massage is really relaxing and fun! Some parts were painful, they will literally stand on your back (but ask you if that's ok before doing so). There's hot stones, massage oil, and they do your back for about 75% of the time and your front for about 25%. The majority of your body will be covered during your massage, they'll lift up the bedsheet wherever they're massaging so you'll have maximum coverage. Everyone is super sweet and friendly. There's only 1 bathroom and it's large but dark. The workers here don't speak great english- so keep that in mind and be patient. After your massage, they'll give you water and hard candy. There was plenty of street parking when we went. There's also a 10% off yelp check in deal. A lot of the reviews say that it's overbooked or noisy, but luckily we came when they weren't very busy so it was actually pretty quiet during our massage. read more

Avoid, avoid AVOID this place at all times. Seriously. Especially if you bought their coupon through Groupon. We bought a couples massage ticket through Groupon, we made a reservation using phone call, gave them all the coupon number and everything. So they KNEW about our Groupon-ticket. We arrive, and the receptionist woman checks our coupon and tells us that we UNDERPAID for the session, and that we must PAY EXTRA on top of the coupon we have bought from groupon because "they will not make any money from that price." First of all, it's not our fault that the tickets were sold for that price. We paid, we came. As a business, you should be dealing with errors on prices with Groupon NOT with customers. You dont make customers pay extra money for the mistakes that the businesses have made. Secondly, we insisted that this is not fair, and that we will request a full refund. The receptionist tells us to take that up with Groupon saying they have nothing to do with this. So we asked for her name to include their info for our request claim. SHE DELIBERATELY SHAKES HER HEAD AND SAYS SHE WONT GIVE US HER NAME!! Then she calls the OWNER, (his name is JOSE) and we had a phone call with him. Lo and behold, the Owner, Jose, tries to talk us into just paying a few extra dollars and just get the service. He kept saying they wont make money off of it and that Groupon usually make mistakes with their prices. That means they already had MULTIPLE SITUATIONS LIKE THIS before and still didnt do anything about it!! Seriously?! NOT TO MENTION THE COCKROACHES I SAW AT THE RECEPTION COUNTER. I wanted to take pics or video of them crawling around in the back shelf by the wall behind the receotionist but couldnt since she was sitting right there. Dont ever waste your time and money here guys. This is absolutely disgusting and dirty way of marketing. They jack down prices on Groupon and make people pay extra money when they arrive. Lol. ++ I've read few other reviews of this place and seems like they are partners in crime (receptionist and owner) and this whole thing is their usual scenario to stick by to SCAM people into buying at cheap price and then making them overpay it. read more

I recommend you avoid this place at all costs! I purchased the massage at Ancient Thai massage. During the massage they put eucalyptus on my face which ended up burning my forehead!! With 2 visible brown streaks scars.. I went back to show this to the store manager , prior to his arrival the lady receptionist confirmed that eucalyptus should not be applied on face and then the manager arrived ( he introduced his self as Jose) and instead of to be cooperative and helpful to try and find a remedy for their mistake he tells me he's not a doctor and he told me to go to see a dermatologist and this had nothing to do with him or his business!!!!!! He was super rude and he walked away in middle of the conversation and closed the door and would not respond to me !!! Again I recommend you AVOID this place at all costs .. read more

Amazinggggg book your massage nowww!! Got a couples massage with a Groupon and this was a 10/10 experience! Definitely going back

Called to make an appt for 7:30pm and the lady requested that I view my Groupon voucher to provide her with the code. She said that way if I don't show up I lose it. She was afraid that I might cancel and they will lose customer. She wouldn't give me an appt if I won't provide it so I had to stop what I was working on to get her the voucher code. Appt confirmed. I arrived at 7:20pm to check in and the guy said the system crashed and he couldn't find me. He started saying that he can offer me a later time or I can schedule for another day. So lame! I drove about 30 minutes here. I ain't going to drive back here again to let the same thing happen again. I guess I get why she was so adamant on getting the code. That way she can check how much I paid for it. I got this way back so it was a lot cheaper compared to the price now. I only paid like $30 or $35 for it because I got a discount. I am pretty sure that they gave my spot away because a customer was not using Groupon. I think you get my point. If they were really sorry and if their system really did crashed, they would have offered like an extra 30 minutes or whatever. All they said was come back another time. Even if they offered a free 30 minutes, I wouldn't have taken it. However, it will show some kind of sincere apology. Anyway, this is bad customer service. Not the right way to treat your customer. I should have read the reviews before scheduling an appt. I noticed that a lot of people who uses the Groupon were told the same thing...system crashed and unable to retrieve all the appts. All BS! I will never return. If you plan to use Groupon, don't ever come here. read more

Decent service. Convenient and good price. It's close to home so I will be back whenever I'm in need of a massage.

This was my first time getting a massage and I loved it. I went with a friend and we got the couples massage. I'm not sure how much it is, but since a friend referred us we got a different price. Our friend told us he paid $90 for a couples and I guess it was more because they said they will honor it and we just pay $95. I can't remember the girl I got but she was very friendly. I read some guys comment were he said it feels like they are pawing your back. It's true. They do that a lot but I honestly thought it felt great. The beds are clean and they put a little flower on the end. Gives it a little touch. The lights are low and they play some very relaxing music. They give you time to take off your clothes and get on the bed. The massage was good. Although sometimes I felt like she was going too hard, not too often, but she just said to let her know when it was too hard. There is no parking so you do have to drive around to look for one. read more

The experience here was amazing! We got a Groupon for the couples massage-90min w/ aromatherapy. Our two masseuses were awesome, great communication, and made us feel comfortable. The massage itself left us both relaxed and we slept fantastic that night! Still feeling the good effects days later. And we enjoyed water and a candy afterwards. If visiting, be sure to allow yourself time to find a parking spot, as it's right off the street. But if you do, you won't be disappointed. read more

Found them on groupon but decided to call and walk in without purchasing the groupon but they still honored the pricing. Seriously one of the best massages I've ever had and ive had a good amount in my lifetime. I got the combo massage for two which included the Swedish traditional massage and then a Thai massage where they stretched me out and put me in all different positions. I love it! Walked out feel amazing. I usually had back and neck pain due to my profession and I left without any pain. I highly highly recommend coming here if you are in the LA area, it will definitely be on my list next time I come to visit. read more

If you try to purchase the Groupon deal and get $15 off so it's 45 not 60 they will not allow it. They say the lowest payment they will accept is 45. Don't waste your time. It's a dingy little spot with some shady people in there. Kind of glad they wouldn't accept my voucher. read more

I'd recommend, especially if you use their groupon. We were gifted a 90min couples massage. Making a reservation was easy. The staff was super friendly and the services were as promised. Absolutely recommend Ancient Thai Massage! Don't let the somewhat outdated aesthetic deter you, their focus was on the customer service and quality of service and they succeeded! 10/10 HIGHLY recommend. Not gonna lie, I was skeptical at first based on the sketchy outside of the building. I judged a book by its cover & boy I was wrong. Went for a couples massage and while my partner had a great massage with his masseuse, all I got was rubbed down by oil. There was no aromatherapy as advertised. The oil even made me break out the next day and I am not acne prone. When my masseuse walked in, she didn't ask me what I wanted. Just said hi. When she started, I asked my masseuse to massage harder and she looked confused and waited for the other masseuse to translate. As an ESL person myself, I felt for her but it did make it impossible for me to ask for what I wanted and just left me feeling irritated and tense the entire massage. Usually these massages are quite and chill but they chatted the entire time, like my partner's masseuse was talking mine through the process. So I'm pretty sure I got a trainee. If that's the case, I think the entire experience was even more of a ripoff and that should have been disclosed. Every time she reached a knot or a kink, she just stopped working on it. I felt like she was winging it the whole time and just rubbing my skin, rather than actually massaging the muscles. I just moved to the area and I was hoping to find a place I can go to regularly. They advertise that they are certified massage therapist but in my experience, that was not the case. read more

The reception and appointment making was a wonderful experience. My boyfriend and I got couples massages and we somehow got two different massages at the same time. My person massaged me over the blanket for about 30 minutes and then I had to ask her to use some oil or lotion to massage me. After that request she poured and poured oil on me and lathering me but not massaging. This went on for the rest of the session. I am very disappointed in my massage, however my bf had a very different experience and loved his massage. read more
