A baguette with butter, four wedges of a wonderful cheese, apple, salad, two huge pickled onions, pickled gherkin, sweet pickle and a really delightful piccalilli (obviously homemade). It cost £10 which wasn't exactly cheap but the food was of a great standard and I felt worth every penny. My partner had a beef pie which was equally scrum my. This was all washed down with a local Why Valley ale called Butty Bach (I recommend if you enjoy a good ale) You also get the £3 parking cost off your bill if you park in the Abbey car park. We loved it so much we went back on the sunday for a traditional sunday lunch. I had a nut roast and my partner the beef. I only had time for a quick pint, but there were several people enjoying Sunday dinners, and I would like to have tried one myself. This place has the most dangerous entrance/exit I have ever seen on it. Once you're out the door and down the steps, you're pretty much standing in the road just beyond a blind curve. I don't know how the drunks avoid getting run over. Anyway, I'd recommend this place over the pubs that are closer to the abbey.

Trellech is a lovely village to visit - apparently it used to be larger than either Cardiff or Swansea in medieval times, although you wouldn't know it to look at. They seemed to care very little and be irritated by my asking about allergens. Save yourself a hospital visit and eat somewhere that people care.
