The texture was off and the sauce was lackluster. We boxed it up along with the leftover antipasta, saving them to doctor up in a day or two. The gnocchi was outsranding. I opted for some shrimp to be added (8). They were cooked just right and seasoned well. The gnocchi were the rignt texture and a perfect vehicle for the Calabrian chili bacon jam. I didn't notice the nut brittle, though but I did notice shallots, so I'll have to try it again and see if those modifications stick. Mozzarella cheese between the meat and the sauce, which was also strange. It came with linguine and Joe's meat sauce, which I ordered without the red peppers. I didn't really care for the red sauce; it was also very different than I expected. I also ordered a salad which was a bit pricey ($7?). Sarah, the server was great, always checking on me, refilling drinks, etc. The dining room is old and needs a makeover, but it was clean. This is not what I remembered about Mama L's from long ago. I understand it's more expensive these days, but my entree, a side salad and ice tea for lunch was $32+ before tip, which seems excessive for what I ate. I don't think I will return. There just isn't enough offered for me to come back.
