Marianne is an amazing therapist, she gives a wonderful level 3 and or 4 massage, but when she feels knots she employs trigger point. She communicates and makes sure that the massage isn't too hard or too light. If you notice areas you didn't know were sore, she will alter the time and make sure to relieve the afflicted area. Marianne is amazing! This woman is more than a massage therapist; she's a bodyworker. Her massage style is different than any I've had before but in a great way. She spends several minutes before each appointment checking in with me and my body. I see her monthly and every massage is different based on how my body is feeling that day. Her hands (and feet) are absolutely incredible - somehow she makes two hands feel like 6. I've also never had anyone "read" my body in the way that she does. I can actually feel her searching for tension spots and spending specific time releasing them. She works magic on the big muscles and even gets into the tiniest of muscles in more obscure places (neck, face, armpits). Whatever she does is wonderful. I recently experienced an injury that left me with significant pain in my neck, shoulders, and upper back. My husband suggested a massage to alleviate my pain. I've had a handful of massages in my life, and have honestly never been a huge fan. They feel fine, but honestly, I get bored and feel like I've wasted my time and money. But he persisted, so I searched Yelp and found Ananda Massage with great reviews, right by my house, and (to be honest) a 15% off first-time customer discount. I booked online (which I LOVE), for a few days out. When I arrived I filled out some paperwork, and Marianne asked about my pain and my preferences. The massage was AMAZING! The pressure was just right - there were moments that I thought I was an inch away from too much pressure, but I stayed with it, and it was never too much. She also asked for feedback throughout to ensure that I was comfortable. Afterward, she showed me some stretches and yoga poses that I could practice at home to keep working on my problem areas. So how great was it? I booked another less than a month later. The second was amazing as well. It was nice because she already knows me and knows what I'm dealing with, and was able to pick up right where we left off the previous time. I appreciate her skill and her ability to customize her massage to what I need. For example, during my second massage she used hot stones because my muscles were much tighter than the previous time.
