I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from this massage lady. She had confirmed my appointment a day before my scheduled time, only to receive an email on the same day trying to reschedule. I didn't see the email until later that night, and when I replied that I couldn't make the rescheduled time due to work commitments, she went ahead and cancelled my appointment without even calling me.She did email me but I don't read my email every minute. I wasted my time going to the original appointment, only to find out it had been cancelled. When I reached out to her, instead of being apologetic, she was defensive and incredibly rude. It's unacceptable for a business to treat their clients in such a disrespectful manner. I would not recommend this massage lady to anyone looking for a professional and reliable service. This person left me hanging out to dry after I booked post surgery lymphatic massages. She said she had me all set up, had a good plan for me... And requested 900 bucks upfront. I paid her $200 initially for a deposit and then after we discussed the plan is when she sent me the Venmo request for the remaining 700. I held out on sending that to her because my gut feeling was telling me make sure that this person is legitimate. No more than two days before coming home... I take that back. The day I came home and confirmed our appointment the next day with her... She sent me my deposit back saying it wasn't gonna work out. And it That it didn't seem like a good fit. I don't know what her problem is but definitely not professional, and anybody that is relying on medical recommended massages post surgery should steer clear of this person. read more

After surgery I went to her and she was able to greAtly reduce a large hard swollen lump on my neck with a precise, skilled , painless lymphatic massage of the area. I back country ski, mountain bike, run, and rock climb... Buuuut just recently started nursing school and have found myself sitting idle at a desk, working on a computer more than doing the aforementioned activities. I have had aches and pains from doing all those sports but never properly stretched afterwards (can we say tiiiiiight everything?) or allowed my body to fully recover from one thing to another. Becoming more idle and sitting at a computer, I have noticed these aches and pains to a greater extent, especially in my back and neck. I have only had one massage in the past and didn't feel as though I really got anything other than relaxation out of it (don't get me wrong, that is great but just not all of what I wanted). I decided after having a month of a "kinked" neck and shoulders that it was time to do something rather than continuing to let it get worse. So, I hopped on Yelp! and found Keisha as I specifically searched for a therapist that had reviews about sports massage... I didn't really know what to expect other than for years my friend has been telling me this is the massage my body will benefit from the most given the amount of activity I do. So, I gave it a shot. I am so so glad I did. I wouldn't say it didn't come with a bit of discomfort but it was discomfort that actually felt GOOD (is that weird?) I know one session won't fix my kinked neck BUT it just feels WAY better than it did this last month and any progress is proof enough for me that she did something. I don't know how she did it but I could tell she was focusing a little bit more attention to one side of my neck than the other and it happened to be the side that has been aching... I never told her which side of my neck was bothering me, just that from sitting at a desk w/ poor posture has been giving my neck trouble. I decided that my boyfriend needed to go in and see her so I booked an appointment on the spot for him as well as my next visit. She truly is in tune with your body and it really shows in how she moves you and hones in on troubled areas. I don't know any other massage so I can't really say otherwise but this 80 minute sports massage with what seemed like a little bit of maintenance for my neck is exactly, I mean EXACTLY what I needed. She is a strong athlete so I felt confident that she knew what my body needed when I told her the sports I do. I purchased a 90 minute massage in Reno from Sol State Massage. I had an appointment, waited 15 minutes, and the massage therapist was a no show. I later called her and she said she didn't have my contact information (she had several emails from me which included my phone number and I have all my emails exchanged with her still on my Gmail....). She also could have contacted the other massage therapists who were there to let me know so I wouldn't be waiting (she didn't). The therapist I spoke to there said she was there earlier that day. There was no excuse to keep me waiting when she could have let a massage therapist who was there let me know as soon as I walked through the door. Or from the beginning, she could have kept better track of contact information. Awful experience at Sol State Massage based on the lack of professionalism I encountered. Will not recommend and will tell my friends and coworkers to stay away. UPDATE: She did send me a refund since Deal Chicken said I had to go directly to her. I am a mid late 40's guy, you know 48. I am a multiple activity ski, cycle, martial art, gym almost every day kind of guy and very tall. Though not necessary but certainly deserved, here is an update on my visits to Sol State massage. I just purchased another package of sport massages without hesitation. I go every two weeks for a complete body massage, and feel so much better! I'm down from three Gabapentin to one, and that's after being on this prescription for ten years due to fibromyalgia. This last Sunday I threw out my lower back from too much yard work. I iced, hot tubbed, and used Alleve only to have the pain return every day. Knowing that I had an appointment on Wednesday, I put my trust in Keisha Curtis (sole proprietor ), that her magic touch would have me feeling back to normal. My dream finally came true when I got the opportunity to use a 90 minute massage coupon for Keisha. If you like Deep Tissue, don't let her small stature fool you. AMAZING STRENGTH to break up two years of a knotted mess in my upper shoulders and neck after a couple of injuries. As a 63 year old overweight woman with Fibromyalgia and shoulder injury, Keisha understood my massage needs and explained things before starting and as needed throughout the massage. She did exactly what was needed in this one session with more results than I remember when first seeing my previous therapist. Keisha was able to use medium pressure on my shoulder injury without causing any pain to me. I was concerned that pain would be the case since it is there all the time without moving my arm. There is NO pain post massage. The dull ache is gone. My neck is more flexible than it has been in ages. I'm so grateful to have found Keisha and highly recommend her to meet your massage needs. Kiesha is not very professional. She kept bugging me about buying a package. So I sent her a text and said is it the price it was the last time I bought it with the amount of massages. ( I put the amounts in the text) She said yes so when I went In I bought the package. On the way to my next appointment she cancelled 5 minutes before my appointment and then not long after said she made a mistake and it's not the price I paid or the amount of massages. This massage therapist was at the river fest this year in May. I was telling my husband I wanted a massage before I even saw her booth. She called me over cause she could see the kink I had in my neck. I have never had a deep tissue massage before. She was pulling my arms and rotating them and flexing and moving them all over. Ever since she touched me my left shoulder has been killing me. Something was pulled or torn inside. I will be making a dr appt soon to see what is going on but I will never go to this person again. I had an appointment and showed up at her place on Arlington. I drove 20 minustes to her place on Arlington. I waited for 25 minutes outside her door and realized that she was not showing up for the appointment. I called her and left a message and she replied with a text "emergency gtg" I replied back that she could have texted or called me to tell me that she couldn't make it and her reply was "at the hospital B" calling me a B? Really?? So I checked her Facebook page and she had posted a picture earlier that day of herself in Running shorts and a tank top in a sunny location which was not Reno. Because it was like 50 degrees in Reno that day and cloudy. She is a Facebook poster and would have mentioned an "Accident". I had heard from a mutual friend that she is very flaky like this and has blown off other appointments as well. read more

I would not recommend Sol State Massage to anyone I know. The first appointment I had was canceled 4 hours before by email, no call or text to let me know about the cancellation. I had checked my email that morning and had a confirmation email so I showed up to my appointment not knowing it was canceled. Keisha apologized and said we could reschedule at my earliest convenience but then told me she couldn't get me in any earlier then what the website had open which was 7 weeks. 7 weeks later I show up for my appointment scheduled for 80 minutes. During my massage at times she would rub my neck with one hand while on her cell phone with the other. During my full body massage I was laying on my stomach the whole time.. meaning there was no massage on the front of the body. In addition to this Keisha stopped my massage early because she was tired. She said she owes me a half hour, again at my earliest convince meaning on her website about 7 weeks out. Although she claimed she sent me an email cancellation, her scheduling website also requires a phone number and I received no call from her. She conducted no follow-up to verify I got the notification. The insulting part was her approach and tone when I called her because she was a no-show. She really didn't care that she wasted my time and clearly doesn't need new clients. I used Groupon to get the appointment so there is no recourse - I've lost my money - but I would rather do that than allow an unprofessional and discourteous "healer" work on my body and health. read more
