Me and my girl love Middle Eastern food. We could not wait to get inside Ananas Cafe when we were here last Summer. We stopped here for some Hummus and Shawarma type plates and all, and it was delicious. Ananas have fresh Middle Eastern salads and Tzaki to go with it. Nice owners and workers here. I'm an ER nurse and I Doordashed after seeing a coworker's food from here during a previous shift. Since I got it delivered I can't speak to the ambience, but I will say that the food was packaged well and they included not only utensils, but also some extra condiments and napkins. I got the meat shawarma, curly fries, and tropical fruit cocktail. The shawarma was not the best I've ever had, but the pita bread was soft, the meat was flavored well and the pickles were crisp, 8.5/10. Fries were well seasoned and shared amongst many hungry nurses who all agreed they were very good 7.5/10. Where this placed earned its 5 stars for me though was in the cocktail. Oh it was delicious! Fruit was fresh, sauce and cream beautiful. It was refreshing without being super heavy or too sweet and I enjoyed it immensely 9.5/10. I would definitely order again. read more

Ananas has changed completely since my last visit in 2021. The restaurant wich has been a landmark since 25 years in middle eastern cuisine and subs is back to serving top notch food and cocktails. I ordered the chicken sub. It was well worth it! Good price, good taste, large portion... absolutely happy for giving it a try. Today is the last time I ever go to this restaurant. I have been going to Ananas since I was a little kid and have always remembered having a great time. My terrible experience started when I ordered for pick up on the phone, I ordered 1 ananas special with no tomato, 1 chicken sub and 2 chicken burgers no tomato (i accidentally referred to them as sandwiches which the guy on the phone apparently did not like and then he hung up on me). Annoyed I called back and completed my order. I reach the restaurant some 10 minutes later and instead of greeting me with courtesy the guy at the counter (only employee there) started mocking me about calling the burger a sandwich. He was being rude and sarcastically telling me I am "super nice" and telling me how "smart" I must be, but this isn't where I drew the line. The guy pulled his mask up and looked me in my eyes and asked about my ethnicity and proceeded to give subtle racial remarks. I ordered the food because my family wanted to break their fast that evening with the burgers and sandwiches they craved yet this guy decided to be rude, snarky and racist. I am fed up and will not be visiting this restaurant again. Ananas has good food (when they actually care about what they're making) but they have some of the worst service I have ever experienced. Really liked this place for its concept in Middle Easterner fast food. It was fast, fresh, delicious and reasonably priced. It would have been awesome if the menu stated what goes on the sandwiches. It would have been even more awesome if they let you choose the toppings you wanted on your sandwich, like a Subway or Chipotles. The only reason this place did not get a 5 star rating for me is because the demeanor of the staff. Friendly service with a smile is so hard to find in Middle Easterner restaurants unless you're Middle Easterner, which I am but I don't look it. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I don't know if they're racist or got a problem for real. But last time I came here, my shawarma was fine. But my most recent visit, We kept getting glares by the workers and were told to sit down and away. Try the chicken sub!! It's awesome. I have no idea why it's so good, but it just is. It comes with chicken breast pieces, pickles, lettuce, tomatoes and mayo, all in this bread that is grilled and crispy. It's all I have ever had from here, but for good reason. Every time I go to order something different, I remember how awesome the chicken sub is and I just get the same thing. They're always super busy, so you know it's fresh. Sometimes there is a wait, but I promise you it's worth it. I've eaten here about 10 times and it's usually the same guy who is designated to the cash and making the juices. He doesn't smile much, but his service is awesome. I usually get a side of fries with garlic sauce. The garlic sauce is pretty legit. As for drinks, I've had the mango smoothie and the fruit cocktail. They're both delicious. The place is kind of like a fast food joint, so don't expect a waiter. This place used to be my favorite to order food from, but with the new employees they made the restaurant lose its reputation. Every time I call there is a guy who troll around and act like he doesn't speak English or understand my order. I never write a bad review but it got to the point where it's really annoying. I just want to eat I don't want to hear lame ass jokes. I'm not even comfortable going inside because I'm might get triggered by those employees. I seen them troll older man who was just hungry and wanted to eat and they're out there trolling customers. I really hope the owner pay attention to his workers and stop hiring immature kids. The food is no better than any other sandwich place. If i was rating solely off the food I would have given 3 stars. The service is so bad it deserved 1 star. I understand that sometimes people have bad days, but I waited until I went there on 3 separate days. Each time I was worse than the last.
