Nice staff. Rooms were the most spacious of our trip, clean, & beautifully decorated. Nice fresh linens. Mattress could be updated but not uncomfortable.
Not loud, but in a busy part of town, so I recommend ear plugs if you like the windows open & are not an early riser. No elevator, as is the norm for traditional inns & B&Bs, so be aware if any in your party has mobility problems.
The best breakfast of our trip! Oh my goodness, try the Irish Mist porridge!
Easy on-street parking, even during the absolute height of the tourist season. Nice location for both walking around Clon and for driving around West Cork-- just over an hour to Schull (even with an American driver!), and a decent highway all the way to Cork city.
The kettle in our room didn't work, which was no big deal as we had time for breakfast in the morning. If you need a cup before you can function, though, you may want to check the night before.
The pub was great for a few pints when we arrived. Had an excellent seafood pie!
Price was perhaps a little high, though a decent room in any visitor friendly village in West Cork from June through August will be a little dear.
Overall, I would love to stay here again! read more
