Amy's is my favorite donut spot in town! They offer so many unique and over the top donuts but even their simplest donuts are amazing. I don't get that weird film in my mouth that some other donut places leaves and their dough is so fresh and melt in your mouth delicious. I love getting a chocolate round filled with Bavarian cream and love that they fill it in real time so it's nice and fresh. My kids love the fun ones like the over the rainbow and of course a classic chocolate with sprinkles. Every one I have tried here always satisfies. Staff is always awesome and they are open late for those late night cravings. read more

Please update your hours! It is frustrating when online the hours say you are open until 10 on Tuesdays and I come at 8 with plenty of time before closing and everything is locked up with no one to see inside. This has happened at least three times and is extremely annoying. I am a frequent customer and really love the donuts, but please make sure to fix your hours so customers are not wasting their time making the trip out to your business!!! read more

Came through after having a late-night donut craving, specifically for "that Homer Simpson shit". Lo and behold, there was a donut bearing the character's namesake--covered in pink frosting, lots of sprinkles. I'm in. I'm so in. I didn't stop there (who gets just one donut?), and grabbed the German Chocolate, and an apple fritter. I really, really love the way these donuts look. And the variety. And the prices. I'm sure you could bring these anywhere and they would be a hit. But I just can't go crazy when they reproduce what I believe to be the cardinal sin of fried dough: Putting icing on something that's already glazed. I hate it when a certain alliterative donut chain does it, and it's even more egregious here. You can't take something covered in enough sugar to be a dessert on its own and add 2x more sugar to it! It's overkill! The fritter didn't have this problem, and it was delicious. I would try more stuff from here. But so far, I don't think most of these are my cup of tea. read more

O.k. I'm a donut nut. But I avoid eating sweets so I've avoided what appears to be a hole-in-the-wall dump. But it isn't. The outside is deceiving. Inside is a pleasant space with nice staff and a fascinating approach to donuts. You pick the shell or round and then the filling and your choice is assembled to order. The best thing is the yum results. There are also some regularly made donuts with great choices available. The coffee is also decent. A winner! read more

A random search for a nearby donut shop led us here.... And we were pleasantly surprised! The comments, the store's design both inside and outside; they were all colorful and positive. Price wise, I would say this is a great once in a while thing--not an every Saturday morning thing for a dozen! The donuts are absolutely amazing! The staff is great too and help you with picking out the perfect for you donut! HUGE variety! The building is super cute with the outside art on it. Makes it easy to make sure you don't miss it. Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum!!!! So many darn choices, and they are beautiful donuts, too. I asked for my chocolate-frosted donut to be filled with Bavarian cream, and I think the donut weighed at least a pound. Not kidding - so huge and tasty. My husband limited us to six donuts (criminal decision really), so I had to make careful choices. Besides the Bavarian-filled delight, I also ordered the Elvis (glazed donut topped with peanut butter, chocolate, bacon, and banana) and a German chocolate donut. I have my favorite donut shops from coast to coast and now have added Amy's to that elite list. Wow...Zowie..Holy Donut Dolly! This has to be the largest variety of donuts I've ever seen. And they pay off BIG in flavor, texture, quality, and price. Fluffy donut delights in an array of just about any flavor you want. Choose carefully! I picked one that was bursting with flavor....but I misread the label and ended up with banana flavor in mine--which is not what I expected. #mybad I was looking for big peanut butter and coconut. This place has the best selection of "designer" doughnuts! However, the posted hours for business are complete B.S! It says they are open till midnight. NOT! I took my son there at 8:30. There were ppl working inside. We could see them. They had doughnuts, we could see them. But not well enough to choose what we might have wanted from the drive thru! I would drive by this place often and see the cool, funky colors and awesome paintings! I just had to find out if the food matched the aesthetic, and it definitely did not disappoint! Amy has a wide selection of quirky, themed, and classic donuts. The majority of donuts appear to have a fluffy, yeast base, which has been consistent with all their unique options. One of my favorites is the classic glazed yeast donut because who can ever hate a classic! I also enjoy the maple bacon donut with chopped bacon instead of bacon strips (so much easier to eat!), making a nice combo of sweet and savory. You really can't go wrong in choosing. The location is consistently clean with efficient service and a private parking lot. Donuts are reasonably priced. read more

By far the best and most unique donuts I've ever had! The orange creamsicle donuts are out of this world!

Decided to take my little one for a treat. We went on Saturday afternoon and it was not busy at all, we were the only customers. I was surprised at how many donuts had been made - rows and rows of all sorts of donuts. The employee was bringing out trays of donuts and I thought yes! fresh donuts! I'll try the fresh bacon maple! We also tried a strawberry donut with pink pearls on top and an apple fritter. We ate our donuts there and I was surprised when I bit into the maple bacon donut and it was cold - not room temperature but like refrigerated cold... the donut was okay the bacon was chewy. The apple fritter was standard with more cinnamon than usual. The strawberry donut was the best out of the three. I was taken back by how grimy the store was .. .the floors were filthy, the eating counter was grimy and there were broken edges on the counter. The cashier area had hair and dirt and the bathroom was out of order! We won't be returning. read more

I eat here each time I am in Tucson. We ended up here again. This time was VERY lackluster. The negative visit started with the signature donut holes being empty from the beginning of the visit. When asked where they were we were just asked about our donut order and how many we wanted. Not enjoying being ignored, I asked again. I was again met with the "6 or 12" comment. The one staff member after that was cordial, but relatively rude. Donuts were good as usual. However, being ignored rudely is not my thing. We made a pit stop visiting Tucson for a sugar rush in the morning. The donuts were out of this world and made us craving for more! The servers were so friendly upon entering and helpful in making a decision since there were so many options! We ended up getting a German Chocolate Glaze and a Strawberry Shortcake donut. The flavors were spot on! The German Chocolate Glaze donut was a consistency between cake and regular donut and the coconut flakes in the middle really topped it over the edge! We were so excited to get these donuts for my niece's birthday party. But was so disappointed by the customer service. Placed (and paid for) the order several days before. When my mom went to pick them up, they couldn't find the order, when they finally did find it, they hadn't filled the order so they didn't have most of the ones that were specifically picked out. They scrambled around (making some, substituting some etc) and finally got the order filled. Donuts (and grandma) showed up late to the party. There was never an apology. Ok.. so.. I like Amy's... but today I found a thick, course black hair, that was clearly from another place than the human head in accident... I couldn't even remove it, it was clearly baked into the doughnut cause of how stuck it was.. It's something as small as this that some would just say "whatever" to and overlook, but for me, this makes me question cleanliness, and overall function for a bakery's health/hygiene ethics. I got the chance to try these donuts when a coworker brought in a dozen. If you like a variety, the toppings are numerous and an absolute treat. I wasn't feeling super adventurous so just tried a chocolate covered donut with a bit of whipped cream and sliced strawberries (mainly decorative, not enough to greatly contribute to flavor). The donuts themselves are soft and delicious. They are lighter/less dense, and a bit more reasonably sized than Donut Bar in downtown, which is my main go to in Tucson (but sometimes you're just craving a giant donut, y'know??) I like the idea with the jelly donut you can choose your feelings and they do not skimp at all like so many other places. It might be a little bit of a drive, but it is so worth it. I love donuts, and Amy's are no exception. There's no shortage of flavor choices that are fun, whimsical, and delicious. The yeast part of the donut is so soft that it actually melts in your mouth. Which can be very dangerous, because they go down way too easily, making it simple to down five of these things before you can even blink. And they're total sugar bombs, so beware. The chocolate old fashioned donut was the best version of it that I've ever tasted in my life. The dulce de leche filling in the glazed round was plentiful and oh-so-good. It wasn't drippy or goopy, it was the perfect consistency. Just amazing. The s'mores donut was the most boring. The graham cracker was chewy and stale. The marshmallow topping got lost in the mix of the other flavors. They probably could have put a tad less chocolate and a bit more marshmallow and it would have been better. It's still a good donut, but it didn't knock my socks off, and I probably wouldn't order it again. I certainly wouldn't go to Amy's just for it. The had some donut hole samples on the counter, too, which was really nice. I took advantage of one or three of them! The prices are a little steep, maybe if they put a bit more toppings on some of the donuts, it would seem more reasonable, but I'm splitting hairs. The freshness of the donuts is amazing, but otherwise, the flavors of the bizmallow and strawberry shortcake wasn't really present. The strawberry shortcake only tasted like strawberry when I had fresh strawberries (and there's not that much of that), and the bizmallow was bland to say the least. The mocha cream was really tasty though and tasted like mocha; I enjoyed that one the most. Donuts here are pricey, 3 donuts came out to be $6.49 post-tax. read more
