I cant see why dr. Dukoff has this awful of a rating. I went to her after being referred by another dentist after another awful dentist ruined my three root canals and risked my natural roots from rotting away from infection. Dr Dukoff re opened and properly cleaned and sealed these three teeth in two visits and I've had no problems ever since. I was brought into her office with open arms and treated with strong insights and expertise. I would definitely recommend her for any dental work you would ever need. read more

Terrible. Ads for CBCT scans all over the office. It costs out of pocket. Would not accept one from another office from a week ago. Doc Dukoff is not there to provide opinions or answer questions. She would not answer a question about my wisdom teeth, because apparently I could only ask questions about tooth #10, or there would be another out of pocket cost. She's just in it for the money, not for the love of the game. Avoid at all costs please unless you have money to give away like that. Do not trust her to make decisions for you, make a decision for yourself and don't go here in the first place. read more

I strongly caution anyone using this dentist. Dukoff did 6 root canals without consulting my general dentist. I went to the NY Dental Society and won a hearing against her. The findings were for failure to maintain medical records; failure to consult my general dentist; overpayment and slander. Dukoff paid the $10,000 I paid for work. read more

My experience with Dr. Dukoff was the worst medical experience I have had. I unfortunately did not look at online reviews prior to booking a visit, which would have helped me to avoid this experience given how many similar bad reviews have been left for her over the last decade. Her bedside manner was non-existent, with brash and condescending responses and an irritated demeanor. She gave me a hard time accommodating my disability, which directly impacted my ability to access appropriate medical care. I found her to be incredibly unprofessional and simply could not trust her enough to return for the medical treatment I needed. read more

Fantastic Edodontist, patient & very good. Took the time to finish my root canal. 5 stars! read more

I strongly caution anyone considering this dentist. I was charged for a visit I had already paid for -- a basic billing failure that should never happen. More seriously, I came in needing one root canal and left having received three. According to my referring dentist, the additional two were entirely unnecessary. Both were presented as urgent when they were not, a pattern my referring dentist found alarming enough to stop sending patients to this practice entirely. read more

While the staff were nice, they are not transparent about payments and what insurance covers verses what's optional. Several miscommunications with staff regarding services. Every visit I felt anxious that I was going to be told I need to pay hundreds out of pocket. Disappointed to have this experience, as I was happy to finally find a dental office in New Jersey. read more

I like Dr Dukoff. I was highly referred to her by Dr Richardson who is a approved participant of my primary dental insurance for root canal. This is my first root canal. I am 87 years old. I find her knowledgeable and caring! She found an abcess and told me I needed a conebeam ct which she had in her office for further evaluation. I agreed. She explained she needed to drain the abcess first before doing any root canal to prevent further damage to the said tooth. She sent me home with a 10day course of antibiotic. However two day later my right side of my face got swollen because more abcess were found in the adjacent tooth. She drained it successfully and put me back on two courses of antibiotic. She had since done 2 root canal on my right bicuspid and molar teeth. Dr Dukoff has done a fantastic job. My face is slowly returning back to normal. She may not be lucky in hiring efficient staff , but she is an excellent endodentist!!! read more

It's hard to say that you had a "good experience" with root canals, but I actually did with Dr. Dukoff. She and her staff are kind, professional, efficient, and, most importantly, extremely skilled. Dr. Dukoff is NOT the first endodontist I have had to visit, unfortunately... but she is far and away the best. I will add that the dentists who later place the crowns have likewise complimented her work. I swear, she saved my life! read more

【2 out of 5 stars】 Dr. Amy Duckoff charged $12,010.30 for three root canals and related treatments like X-rays. The actual dental work was rough and uncomfortable, but to be fair, the results were solid in the end. Unfortunately, the billing and communication were a complete mess. Dr. Duckoff and her assistant, Melissa, repeatedly contacted me by text, email, and phone claiming "no payments were made from your insurance," which was completely incorrect. They also made several errors, including listing the treatment year as 2024 when it actually took place in 2025. I had to explain everything using screenshots of my credit card statements and communications with my insurance company. Despite this, Dr. Duckoff raised her voice over me and eventually hung up, which I found very upsetting and unprofessional. Since she was referred by my favorite dentist, it was very disappointing. I paid her what she claims and settled. read more

I returned to Dr. Dukoff for a concern unrelated to a previous visit. She effectively diagnosed the problem and discussed next steps for remediation. As always, she and her office staff are professional and compassionate. I'm confident that my recommendation will leave you feeling you're in excellent hands. Dr. Dukoff is my "go to" endodontist without hesitation! Robin L. read more

Stay far away !!!! The worst healthcare experience ever ! Worst endodontist in Manhattan. I'm in healthcare and I've never seen anything like this terrible so called dentist . She didn't appeared skilled at all , took her 45 minutes to numb me up and it was extremely painful, more than any other I have had. Then started the root canal , after 10 minutes and torturing me. She rudely said " I have another patient , I have to go". I said what do you mean, you're in middle of a procedure and I'm also a patient . She didn't care at all and said I should make another appointment mid procedure . More worried about business than patient and pain she caused . She literally has zero compassion and didn't care . I don't think she should be practicing at all unless you want unskilled and uncompassionate . I don't think you could have worse choice . Stay away!! read more

Rude and dismissive. I asked Dukoff a simple question and was yelled at. She didn't notice that I already paid and her accounting is terrible. No after hours phone and only 1 part time worker. read more

Very accommodating and professional. I had a trip the next day, and they fit me in early to make sure I was seen. The procedure was painless, quick, and completely relieved my tooth pain. Great care all around. read more

Horrible service. Very abrupt and impolite. Tried to charge me for something that I didn't have to pay with my insurance and then called me to badger me about coming to the appointment and making a decision when it took them 3 weeks to get back to me in the first place. Would not recommend. read more

I am usually afraid to go to dentist but this was a good experience. I had no pain Dr. Dukoff started and finished my root canal same day i was amazed i have had this procedure before but I had a bad experience and it was two visits. thank you RCTWizards. read more

Very abrupt person, no bedside manner, very focused on "get cash for services". Extremely reluctant to explain anything, or go through insurance. Scattered all over the place, better to avoid her and see someone competent who can explain with clarity, read more

Great experience all around staff was super friendly and helpful. Dr Dukoff was amazing and it was so much faster than I thought it would be. I had 2 infected teeth that needed root canals and was very nervous about the procedure, Dr was very gentle the worst part was the numbing shot but other than that the procedure was basically pain-free. Life is so much better when you're not suffering in pain everyday! Thanks Dr Dukoff. read more

This dentist needs to update her address. I got an email for a consultation last week from this dentist. The address listed was 119 West 57 Street. I went there and was told she moved months ago. They didn't have a new address. Aftee 1/2 hour of phone calls, I arrived to a small office on 45 Stree. I was a few minutes late. The office worker wanted to charge me for arriving late and said I needed to reschedule. I told my referring dentist about this and he won't be making referrals there. read more

Efficient, confident, gave full explanation and got my root canal done painlessly. I felt I was in good hands.

Dr. Dukoff, needs to change her address on this site. I got a text confirmation for an address onWest 57th Street. Since she moved several times within that building, no one knew her new address. I wasn't able to get it as the phone listed was also wrong. I got an angry call from this office saying I would be charged for a missed appointment. read more

Very bad experience with this woman. I was forced to wait over 30 minutes and no one came out to explain this. She was rude; gruff and overworked. She didn't want to answer any questions and explained that I need a root canal immediately. The quality of care was very bad and there was no support staff. I went to another endodontist for a second opinion and was told I didn't need a root canal. I don't recommend this woman and believe she is posting fake 5 star reviews of herself on this site and others. read more

Dr Amy Dukoff is a very fine endodontist, she works fast and has great skills. She did several root canals for me over the years. She works very efficiently, kept me relatively comfortable, and pain free. She is a pro! Do not be fooled by her brusque style. She initially came across as rushed, but when I voiced a question or a fear, she immediately turned her attention to me, and was very kind and assuring to me. I have had other root canals done by my regular dentist, and by another endodontist. Amy Dukoff is who I recommend, no question about it. She also told me she was concerned about two other teeth. Turns out Amy Dukoff was right, a year later those teeth did call out for attention, and I have dealt with them. read more

"Our commitment is to providing quality emergency dental care in a friendly modern atmosphere." from MANHATTAN ENDODONTIC SPECIALISTS webiste where she works. Their office lobby is extremely depressing - looks like they haven't renovated in 40 years. The receptionist is extremely rude giving tremendous attitude. The assistant I saw wanted to take an xray on the wrong tooth. When I questioned her whether she had seen my referral, she said she doesn't deal with insurance as she's "only an assistant." Except, this is not an insurance question. She needs to come prepared knowing what she's supposed to xray. EXTREMLY RUDE. Dr. Dukoff on the other hand seems to be a straight shooter and won't waste your time. She didn't end up doing any work on me as she felt the tooth rather needs to be extracted. This office seriously needs to work on its front of house staff as they seriously compromise its reputation. read more

Dr. Dukoff is extremely professional, diligent, highly skilled, caring and treats her patients with respect and concern. I had a very difficult dental situation. My dentist thought I would have to have my tooth extracted. However, as a result of Dr. Dukoff's excellent skills, she was able to save the tooth and perform root canal. The procedure was painless. Her follow-up was very impressive and she called several times over the weekend to see how I was feeling. I highly recommend Dr. Dukoff. read more

Dr Dukoff saw me when I needed most. One morning I woke up with so much pain on my face. But Dr. Dukoff took care of me very promptly, performed a root canal. and advised I get a nightguard. I would definitely go back to her if I need another root canal in the future read more

Such a great front desk - I was so anxious about the insurance and they calmed me down. The girl in the corner went over my benefits over and over with me until I totally got it. She was awesome. I was referred to Dr. Dukoff by my regular dentist, who told me I had a bad case for a root canal and I needed a specialist. He had previously extracted a tooth that was cracked and it took 10 shots of novocaine, and the tooth just kept breaking, so it took 2 hours and it came out in 6 pieces. I was told childbirth would have been less painful. So with the root canal, I was sent to Dr. Dukoff, to avoid a similar excruciating situation. First, her receptionist was amazing, making me immediately comfortable and reassuring me I will be fine. Then I saw Dr. Dukoff, who took the time to explain the procedure. At every point she asked if I was OK or felt any pain and would allow me to breath when I needed a break (I tend to forget to breath when in pain). She was the ultimate professional, patient and gentle. When I logged on to give her my positive review, I was totally surprised by the negative reviews. I always knew people forget to say proper thank yous and write down positives, they just remember the negatives. Like typical parents (my mother only remembered the negative while I was growing up). But really, these negative reviews sound like they were written about an evil twin. I had a very positive experience. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Dukoff to anyone ho needs a root canal and wants to be treated humanely, courteously, and experience minimal pain. read more

The bad reviews that precede me are nonsense. Dr. Dukoff is professional, caring, and treats her patients graciously and with respect. It's 3 am and I am in pain which seems like a weird time to write a 5 Star review. I presented with two root canals, she did a brilliant job with the first one in one visit, painlessly and perfectly, however after almost two hours she was worried about me, but I asked her to check out the other. The other tooth was like Pandora's box. The novacane did not work because of an infection, but she cleared out as much as I could handle. Anyway she did palliative care and promised that if it hurt today, she will see me and finish the root canal so I am not in pain. We were both hoping for no pain, but the tooth is not cooperating. Dr. Dukoff is professional, kind, communicative and just so caring about her patients. The other reviews are just not accurate. She is not gushy and asking about your weekend, she tells you the full story about your teeth, makes sure you are not in pain and does an amazing root canal! Also, her assistant, Mercedes, is just lovely and makes sure you are totally prepared. I was scared and she was great! Thank you Doctor and Mercedes! See you very soon! read more

The worst. I was referred by my dentists. Rather than listen to me when I said I was sensitive to medicine, she overdrugged me, and I almost died. Because it was such a bad experience, I am terrified to go to the dentist or root canal Specialist. Now because of the fear from this woman's horrible work, I have to get oral surgery on my tooth. If you want to keep your teeth, go elsewhere. Absolutely the worst. read more

RUN TO SEE THIS DOCTOR! Dr. Dukoff's professionalism, care and thorough evaluation and treatment was beyond reproach. I can't say enough about my experience with Dr. Dukoff. Her office staff are superb, and she was wonderful! read more
