I booked a train trip from Waterbury to NYC over a month ago. I got a phone call today, 4 days before the trip was to take place, that I would not be on a train but would instead be on a 7 hour bus ride. This is not why I paid for. In addition, the bus did not include the amenities that I had originally purchased access to: wifi and a cafe cart to be able to eat during the journey. With 4 days notice I am unable to book a flight in place of the train and will potentially have to cancel the trip all together. There was no alert of potential reroute via bus when I booked the tickets. Amtrak customer relations was extremely rude on the phone and ended up cancelling my trip without giving me any alternative solution to compensate for the inconvenience and false advertising. read more
