Lots of space to sit and chill. I saw few people working remotely from the center. There are lots of information about Vermont's history, nature and tourism. They also offer free coffee. There are multiple restrooms, some in the front and others in the back. There are two vending machines, one for drinks and the other for snacks. The outside area is also very neat and clean. They have picnic tables in front of the parking spots.

Here you can find information on maple sugarhouses, cheesemakers, breweries, wineries, farmers' markets, skiing, golfing, camping, hiking, fishing, hunting, boating, bicycling, music, theater, museums, galleries, antiquing, lodging, dining, bookstores and shopping. Williston North serves travelers to Burlington, Chittenden County and points north. The Vermont Information Center Division has a regional partnership agreement with the Lake Champlain Chamber of Commerce for operations. The center opened in August 2002.

Unsurprisingly an outdoor camp feel but well kept insides. The bathroom has 4 hand dryers. Wow for a rural area. Works great for last minute big groups. This center is near Lake Placid which has a USA Olympic Training Center. Another fully equipped rest area seems about 30 miles north. This explains a lot. Must be beautiful but isolating and serene here with the basics and minimal distractions. Also, not a lot of gas in mountainous Adirondacks and no gas at this rest area. I think I saw 1-3 stations on I-87 so far.

Can't do better than this on the East Coast unless you are in the Smokey Mountains of North Carolina and Tennessee. Note - The North area was already on Yelp as I passed through, and I did not think to add the South area until returning home. Excellent rest stop in Sharon, VT. Highway signs let us know it's 74 miles to the next restroom,…read moreand as it was lunch time we pulled in for a picnic and walk about. The road in is newly paved and takes you around the back of the building. Big rig parking is by the highway with a pedestrian walkway up to the building. The parking lot is a fair size with no EV charging station (yet) and two handicap spaces. A small pavillion directly across from parking covers three picnic tables. Another 3 are nestled under the trees to the left. Several Adirondack style seats across the lawn overlook the road and view beyond. The grounds are beautifully landscaped. The building is small but contains a lot of tourist information on the walls, brochures to take and a volunteer to help. Hot coffee is available, two drink vending machines and one snack vending machine as well as water fountains. Clean mens/ladies rooms and two family bathrooms are located behind a display wall to the left as you enter the building. An information desk is straight ahead. This facility reclaims it's waste water and the process is open to the public in their Living Machine greenhouse area. It's very tropical with a bounty of lush, warm weather plants. Thankfully, it didn't smell like waste water in there. :) Also on site is a large Veterans Memorial, originally opened in 1982. There are several informational displays around the property regarding VT's military history. The memorial is a lovely, quiet space for reflection. A dog walking area is located on the opposite side of the parking lot with waste bags available for your convenience. Furry family members are not allowed inside the building. A volunteer was monitoring the parking area, keeping it tidy. This is a beautiful rest stop with space for kids to run, picnic areas, seats with a view, a memorial and some waste water science. If all you need is a quick pit stop they got you covered. If you have time to roam, they've got you covered there too.

Unless you go in the morning there's a good chance the coffee will be cold, the coffee counter a mess depending on the employee or if only one employee is on duty and is too busy to keep up with the coffee area. Check expiration dates on EVERYTHING you buy! There are many outdated products! The flowers in the restrooms look nice too, but if you left up the toilet seat you may find its not so clean. I wouldn't count on bathrooms being sanitized either. Why? Many employees could care less because it's a part time minimum wage job that seldom gives raises, has little opportunity for advancement, and really bad supervisors. All the stores have a high turnover. Even poor employees don't stay long. Scratch the surface and its not so pretty.
