The staff were helpful and welcoming, and there's a cute gift shop with White Mountain merchandise and local goodies. Public restrooms are also available. It's an easy pull off from the main road and a great first stop to get oriented to the area. There are also stamps here for people collecting travel book stamps. Kathy was especially great, she was very kind, helpful, and very funny. She went out of her way to make sure we had our trip planned out with all our questions answered. They also offer maps in multiple languages, including Chinese, French, German, Japanese, and Hindi and I loved the accommodation. Overall, great stop to get acquainted with the White Mountains!

Nestled in a beautiful historic looking home, I came here with a friend on a Saturday afternoon for some advice on where to drive for some great views of the leaf changes in the autumn season. The folks here drew a map with us, let us take it back with us and their recommendations were spot on! There is also complimentary self-serve wonderfully-brewed Green Mountain coffee (donations are accepted!). If you're seeking a little bit of advice on where to go and want to take a quick stop right across from their capital building--check out the visitor center!

I also find it strange that right next to the door you don't have handicapped parking but instead have fleet parking for state vehicles. Another sign that you don't really care about visitors. Usually there's a table with homemade baked goods for sale and there are vending machines on the outside for traditional junk food fare. Plenty of parking and very restful and green. A really pleasant stop on the highway going north towards Montpelier and Burlington.

Even so, I'm not sure it would have made a big difference since you don't really get a clear view of the gorge unless you lean over a not-so-cute metal fence, and there are no photo opportunities if you want you and the gorge in the same pic. It really feels like there should be a trail or viewing area closer to the gorge itself. The visitor center is small but cute, with a little museum and a small gift shop, which was nice to briefly check out. Overall, I'd say it's not really worth the stop if you already have a packed itinerary. If you do go, the best approach is honestly just to walk across the bridge quickly and take a look from there, but I'd skip the trail. I am glad it's on protected land though and that it is being maintained so well. It just is an odd spot to have such large hype.

Not all ONroutes have such abundant tourist centre as this one. First are the thousands of maps, brochures, and coupon/savings books categorized and numbered by region in their fair province. Then there are the reasonably priced Canada- and Ontario-themed souvenirs, from stuffed animals to tees to hats to hoodies and bags. There's also an actual lounge area with comfy leather armchairs to sit and chill. Best yet, a great staff that gave us some free pointers on how best to get to our destination. They can help plan whole trips and can even assist in making reservations. Man, they're really making me want to extend my trip to Ontario ... indefinitely!

I had been calling and emailing Dan Brady about a cruise from Miami leaving in just 5 days. I happened to be nearby and dropped in. He was awesome. I emailed this to him after leaving, "Dan! You're a rock star. Truly awesome today. The total, including almost everything (cab rides, hotel, etc) is $1 more than the cruise + airfare I was prepared to book in the wee hours last night. You saved us and gave us a great upcoming trip." We accomplished much in nearly an hour, but we had a great trip. Dan was very friendly and offered great advice that saved us $100s. Thanks, AAA!

Cancellation notice was received by me one day AFTER deadline for additional paperwork. Called Williston, routed to Montpelier, routed back via Texas and then LA. Finally, LA sent direct message to Williston. Huh? Is this efficient? Agent called, sent text link for me to submit photos. I DID. Was it received? Agent DID NOT follow up with me. Today, received reimbursement for cancellation. The agent NEVER let me know this would be happening. I WILL NEVER EVER SUPPORT AAA IN ANY WAY AGAIN. Williston does not even deserve the 1 star rating I gave.
