Already disappointed -scheduled consultation and no one showed up or even called. Not a good first impression.

Very strange -- I can't reconcile all the positive reviews with my own personal experience. Called them up due to the overwhelmingly positive feedback on Yelp. I had a few sprinkler heads that needed to be replaced/repaired/adjusted before I overseeded. Eli got back to me quickly and set an appointment on a day when I'd be at work, which was fine. On the day of the appointment, I got a call from the service tech telling me that my sprinklers were fine but my controller was broken, and it would be $385 to replace. I told him that the controller isn't broken -- one of the buttons is "sticky", but the system is fine. On the other hand, the sprinklers are not "fine", that's why I called. He told me the system was old and should be replaced. I gently told him that I would consider that, but I wasn't going to authorize a $385 replacement without getting a competitive bid, but in the meantime, would he please run and repair the sprinkler heads as I requested -- I mentioned the specific ones I had concerns about. He barked at me, but agreed to do so. I still haven't seen any paperwork or notice regarding what he did. Maybe the service tech was just having a bad day, but I can't recommend these guys. Appreciate that at least the owner posts productive and rational responses to reviews that show opportunities to improve. Nice to know that someone might be listening. read more

I chose AMS because of the glowing reviews. My experience wasn't so glowing. We got a quote, which was high, but I figured since all the good reviews, it was worth the money. Several emails later we confirmed the appointment date and anxiously awaited only to have the technicians come out to "assess" and not do the actual work. Mistakes happen but the re-schedule was a full week out, which was unacceptable. Very frustating. The two stars because Eli seems like a nice guy and was apologetic. read more

To top everything off--I'm still getting a bill from these people AFTER I fired them and the agreement has been completed and paid! The billing system is unorganized and unethical. read more

I had AMS clean up a quarter acre lot in an HOA and repair my watering system. That work turned out OK with a lot of debris blown into the pool. I requested the small front lawn be removed and replaced with rock. They spayed lawn to kill and a couple of days later, it was cover in rock and the front yard looked fine. A couple months later, the electricity went out and I had to reset the watering system. The front lawn sprinklers were tuning on again. I dug around and found that the lawn was never removed just covered over with mesh. I disconnected the wiring to the sprinkler solenoid, something that should have been done by AMS. read more

He was so patient answering all my questions and helping me to pick plants, I had no idea how this worked or what to choose. He got our budget and made it work, I was am so impressed. Heather did a great job scheduling it and communicating to me when there were delays due to rain. Jorge was the actual installer, he text me when completed and sent me pictures. He also gave me instructions of how to take care of the plants. I can't say enough good things about this company. They didn't make a ton of money off this job. ( it's rental and we didn't have a large budget) but they never made me feel like it didn't matter because of the money they were making. They took good care of me even though it was a small job. We at first had great service when we initially hired them to maintain our front yard. But once we finished the landscaping in our backyard and upgraded our service to include it the quality of service seemed to go down. Although we have a large yard (about 1/2 acre) it is not heavily landscaped. His crew seemed to mostly focus on the smaller plants and ignored our trees and bells at the far end of the property. He made several attempts to address our concerns, but it seemed like his crews just either didn't get the message, or didn't follow instructions. Either way we ended up mutually agreeing to end his service. Stand up guy, but he needs to get a handle on the quality of service being performed by his crews. read more

I came upon AMS Landscaping due to the fact that it had a good BBB rating and ratings on yelp and other sites. Of course my expectation was commensurate of the ratings that I had viewed. I called the number 5 times with no one answering the phone, then I filled out the web contact form with all of my information to contact me with no response. I see all of these comments who talk about how good the communication from AMS is however it has been a week with multiple phone calls an I haven't received a phone call or email response from the company and this is for new business. I can't imagine what it would be if you actually were calling to talk to someone about your existing yard service. I found another company and am very satisfied. read more

Great job on my moms place in Phoenix. I contacted them online and they sent me a quote with before pics. I approved it and a day later the job was done and after pics were sent. They take credit cards so it made the whole transaction easy. I highly recommend them if your out of town and need to have pics for assurance that the job was done. read more

Eli Hall was quick to return my call and sent a guy to my house within a few business days. The man who came to my house was easy to communicate with. He repaired an irrigation leak quickly and prepared a very reasonable estimate to have some overgrown and troubled shrubs and trees removed. The bid and bill for the leak repair came via email within a few days of the AMS' person visit, and there were photos attached for the work done / estimated. A very professional, service oriented company. I will definitely use them again. read more

Used AMS to help me solve some drainage problems around my house from last fall's rains. I needed some re-grading and french drains installed. From my initial contact of AMS, I had an initial meeting with them in just 2 days and a quote by the following day. I had some questions and Ryan was very responsive. He even showed up a second time at my house to make sure I was comfortable with exactly how the work would happen and where the trenches would be. I ended up using them, and they did a great job. The finished product looks discrete, and they even used a hose to test the system with me before they left, to demonstrate how everything will work. Just in time for monsoon season! Poor service, never on time for hour or dates. Lawn on the side now has mold due to over watering. Bushes cut were a hack job. Sprinklers never were adjusted properly. Over all very unprofessional service. Weeds were never pulled. The company NEVER did the entire yard when they came. They came one day and actually cut one bush and left. We watched them through the window. When we notified their owner, he sent them back. After that day, the service just went down hill every visit. We had to fire them, because the lawn was now dying. No apology was ever issued by the owner for the poor service. No accountability whatsoever. My reviews keep being removed by someone who doesn't want to see the truth on how WE were treated. AMS Landscaping did a terrific job. From the woman that answered the phone to the two men that completed the job we were very impressed with their professionalism! I called AMS and was told that an estimate would be done on Wednesday, and sure enough, Eli from AMS Landscape completed his estimate on Wednesday. He emailed me pictures of the job and his pricing. When I emailed him back about a specific question, he responded within just a few minutes which was very impressive. We agreed on a price and scheduled the service to be completed. We were very happy with the work done (trimming bushes, cleaning up weeds, raking rocks and they even moved some river rocks for us from what side of the house to another!) Overall, I am very impressed with AMS Landscaping and would use them again as well as refer them to friends and family. read more

AMS is pricey and I am not rich and I do not have a fancy yard. However they are reliable and emails are answered promptly. My handyman said the AMS crew was friendly and polite toward him. Those things are important to me. read more

Here goes a huge shout-out and "THANKS" to Eli and AMS Landscaping! Where do I begin? I guess, the saying "Third time is a charm" rings true when it comes to AMS. After having to deal with 2 previous landscaping companies, I am so glad we decided to give AMS a shot. Almost 2 years ago we called AMS, after a bad experience with my last two landscaping companies. First, I found AMS Landscaping on Yelp (thank you yelp), then I called AMS and a guy named Eli (owner) answered my call right away and was able to give us an estimate within 24-48 hours, as promised. From then on, the rest is almost too good to be true for a landscaping company, these days. Over the last 2 years AMS has never skipped a beat and always on time for our bi-monthly service, along with weed control twice or three times a year. I will sum it up and say that they are very reliable, honor a great price for the amount of work done (they even do online bill pay now), they pay attention to detail (even clean out my pool after the service for no charge), very respectful to the property and surrounding property. Last but not least and this says it all, I have referred AMS to 4 of my very close friends, that now "thank" me almost everytime they see me, for introducing them to the "BEST LANDSCAPING COMPANY IN THE VALLEY!!!" Had these guys out for the first time to clean up the weeds/trim bushes in our front yard...we had just gotten too busy and the yard was overrun. They were quick to respond to my request for an estimate and after I accepted, they were out the next day. I was very pleasantly surprised with how great the yard looked when I came home that day; it was like a different house. My neighbor was home when the guys came by to do the work - he made a point to come over and tell me how impressed he was with the efficiency that the team had and that they had even pre-treated for weeds after cleaning the existing ones up! Wow, I rarely write reviews, but AMS was worthy of me writing this. Quick, easy, and hassle free. Told them what I was looking for, they came and examined property and gave me a quote that was great. As soon as I said yes, they were there for the appointment and did everything great. Yard looked 100 times better. I called and left a voicemail for them to come out and do some yardwork for me in Scottsdale, and they never bothered to call me back. These seems strange to me, having somebody knock on your door saying, "hey I want to pay you money", and the business is like, NAW we're good. I am so pleasantly surprised. I live out of state & hired AMS online to clean up my mother's yard. Their price was competitive & they were in the vicinity, so I hired them. WOW!! is all I can say. They did an amazing job - I was at first concerned cause they only had 1 guy in the job & the yard was very OVERGROWN. The process to get an estimate was super convenient and I was able to schedule the work right away. The quality of the work done was top notch. I recently found myself in need of a new landscape, irrigation and maintenance company, as my yard was overgrown and sorely needing attention. It is always hard to pick and start with a new company, so I checked out the Internet and company reviews. I landed on AMS and have been exceptionally pleased from start to finish. Eli Hall has been wonderful, always checking to make sure I am satisfied and that all is occurring as planned. The estimates for the work were very reasonable and all was scheduled and accomplished in just a little over 2 weeks from my initial contact. Every single person who has been at my home has been personable, knowledgeable and attentive to my requests. I have revised my total irrigation system (much needed) and despite the amount of digging and moving dirt around, my yard looks neat and clean. I am also their first customer to install an automatic "bio-feed" system, so stay tuned to hear about and see the improvements in my plants and trees.
