Took the kids here for a snack after school today. Guess I picked the wrong day to come in to this particular AMPM. I'm in my 30's and have. been a patron at AMPM since I could drive at 16. I have never had an encounter with a gas station employee....EVER. Until today. Around 4/4:30 pm we go in and grab some snacks. I had 3 kids with me btw. No one is in line so I jump in to pay. I'm talking with my kids, looking over the charges as they pop up on the card machine, I don't want to be charged for 3 bags of chips instead of 2, you get it. I mind my own goddamn business. Well, apparently an employee was walking behind the counter with her child who was maybe 4ish years old. Apparently she had tried to say hello to us but I did not hear her. So what does the employee of the gas station (that has her child at work) do??? Keep walking? No. Offer to get our attention? No. She VERY loudly tells her daughter something to the effect of, "It's ok, you don't have to say hello to people who are just going to IGNORE you." The tone was so loud and rude it caught my attention, you know, because I was minding MY OWN business. So I look around baffled when I realize that she was talking to us! I tried to ignore the outburst but I said to the other cashier that they should really not have employees speaking to patrons like that. She just dead stared at me and blankly said "sorry" with a shoulder shrug. So as I gathered my purchase (that I almost walked out on, why spend my money I work my ass off for there...where obviously the staff don't respect you as a customer one bit) I decided to call the employee on it. As I was exiting I said that she shouldn't speak to customers like that. Wellllll, she wanted to continue her rant and tell me that SHE was having a conversation with HER CHILD. I thought she was referring to my kids which is why I was defensive at first, but she cleared that up too, telling me her daughter was Not speaking to the kids but rather myself. After I APOLOGIZED for not hearing her daughter, I still tried to tell her that she was out of line. She obviously had a bad day and needed a reason to pick a fight with someone because she took her condescending tone even further and told me that it was her conversation, she was not talking to me. No, you were talking at me, about me, in front of me. This all took place in front of my kids. And hers. Don't take your children to work (at a gas station) and expect everyone to be paying attention to you or them all the time. It's not your world we're living in. You don't know the other persons struggle, or what they endured that day.. Sometimes, people don't hear things. Sometimes, being polite and teaching your child to be polite in a working environment is part of life. You don't like your job? Quit. Having a bad day, deal. We're adults. That's how the world works. I would never treat any of my customers like that and they are spending a lot more than $15 on junk or gas at my business. I will go out of my way to avoid AMPM/ARCO if this is acceptable customer service. I have already contacted corporate. read more

I've visited several AM PM locations to get coffee in the early morning hours. To insulate the coffee better, I always use 2 cups (one within another). No issues ever until... The counter guy at this location said "you have 2 cups so I need to charge you for two." Really? After explaining it keeps the coffee hotter longer, I reuse the cups, and I have no issue with other locations, he stood firm and said I will be charged for two cups. Fuck you and your cup! My son and I went to redeem our winnings. ARCO did NOT honor our winning codes. The cashier tried to enter the codes but she claimed the scratch power sometimes doesn't work due to quarterly upgrades. So we lost our winnings. Approximately 3 months later my son and I each won a prizes again and went back to the same Arco. They couldn't honor our Hot Dog, Gummies and Water. Once again we lost our prizes. When you press the redeem button on your phone you literally have a couple minutes before it disappears. The manager claims there is nothing he could do about it. They also claim they can't give out the owners number. I'm filling a complaint with the corporates, Consumer Reports and everywhere else. I spend approximately $150 monthly for gas alone at that Arco. Not to mentions other items purchased instore. Fool me once shame on you. ... Fool me twice shame on me..... If i could give zero stars then I would. Yesterday, my boyfriend and I stop for gas and some snacks before getting on the road. I seen a new candy and showed it to my boyfriend. After putting the candy back, i noticed GLORIA staring at me. I brushed it off and proceeded to the register. I purchased 35 dollars worth of gas and some airheads. Gloria then told me to "put the candy back" and also said "YOU PEOPLE always think you're going to come in here and steal". She cursed at my boyfriend and I, calling us b****es and said f**k you. Worst service ever cashiers don't know how to properly communicate with clients and to top things off they cancel my transaction and won't give me my money back. They Stated that they'll show me the transactions from that time and only showed the cash ones not the card ones. They kept changing their story on me multiple times. Now I have to lose time from my job to go in and talk to the manager. Learned my lesson never again will I ever go to them for gas or snacks. read more

So I'm here At AM PM I purchase gas and food and forgot to get muster and catsup for my hot dog and this man starts to harass me saying I have to buy something. accusing me of taking things without purchasing food. I told him I purchased a hot dog hamburger I ask for manager he said he was the manager and continued to harass me . asking teller if I purchased anything in a store full of people. acting races towards me..I am Spanish American born in this country. but he kept he keeps embarrassing me in front of a whole store full of people. after all of this the lady said oh yes she did purchase food. Poor customer service, Rude management, Lazy to inform customers when a pump(s) are down with a simple note, they will tell you they are aware they are down but do nothing to inform you until you are inside instead of wasting the customers time. read more

So many issues where to begin. When they had the kiosk they rarely worked in the mornings, From card issues to accepting cash. You would walk in they would have 8+ people in line and only one CSR helping them and pushing their cookies. During high peak hours of the morning and afternoon commute they should have two people at the desk to help ring people up. Also they would know the islands were down and would not put up a note on the kiosk to inform its customers that the kiosk was down, instead letting customers try several times then getting fed up to walk inside or drive away. Then when they switched to pay at the pump several times Ive seen the terminal at the pump down and you would walk in and they would even admit to knowing the terminal was down and still do nothing to inform its customers by placing a note at the pump that it was down. Manager does nothing to inform its customers when something is not working. I feel they just don't care and want the people to come in sit in a long line to stare at the food to increase sales or are just flat out lazy. read more
