Dear Corporate, This afternoon I purchased a Ultimate Car Wash from my local ampm #83008 for $14.00. After running through the car wash, my truck still had dirt in specific areas, including when I ran my fingers across the paint, a light dirt residue was left on my fingers. I began to go back into the store to request a second wash and ran into an employee who had came outside. I requested from him the second wash at no charge. It turns out he claims to be the manager named Ahmad (spelling uncertain, he wasn't very patient with me when I was trying to get his spelling). He refuses my request after inspecting my red Chevy Colorado. He stated to me that I was just trying to get a free car wash, which was not true. I was insulted by his handling of me the customer. After a brief discussion about my dirt, what Ultimate car wash means, and how dirty my vehicle was to begin with, and the places the equipment can't reach, I am left with no satisfaction with this manager named Ahmad. He walks off from me and ignores me so I run after him to get his name and spelling, and he continues his poor customer service and rudeness. He claims he is not being rude; I say he is. Here's the bottom line: I have brought my other cars in for a wash at this place and was fairly satisfied and never requested a re-do. In this case, I particularly wanted this truck to be clean when I was done running it through the wash I had paid top dollar for. He tells me that I should have just taken it for a hand wash. There car wash was available to satisfy me with a re-do, but he insulted me by telling me that I was just trying to get a free car wash. What I was trying to do was talk to this manager that I was trying to get what I paid for--a clean car to my satisfaction. It wouldn't had cost much to allow me the re-do of the car wash to make me happy again. At least, after a second wash, I might have believed that the wash equipment had done all it was capable of doing for my truck. This manager refused to even try to satisfy my needs to re-do the wash. This is what I think should have happened: 1. Allow me a re-do on my ultimate car wash at no additional charge. Give his equipment one more chance to make me satisfied at my expectation level (not his). 2. Be polite and customer service driven, rather than insult your customers. 3. If he failed to make good on the first car wash I PAID $14, with my expectations of a clean truck after the first car wash and he refused to give a re-do to make it right, then he should have just REFUNDED ME the $14. 4. My first preferences would have, of course, been for numbers 1 and 2 to have occurred, but none of my expectations were met. I have a semi-clean truck and apparently when I bring it in really dirty from sitting on the street, semi-clean is all that is expected from his car wash equipment. This employee didn't even take into consideration that there was a lot of dirty water flowing off my truck as I went through his car wash and perhaps the failure was in his equipment. I find the way I was treated by this manager to be totally unacceptable. I would appreciate your doing either item 1 or 3 for me if this is the way he chooses to handle customers. I don't put up with being wronged by a business or its employees without putting up a fight. And my speaking to corporate and expressing reviews on Yelp, etc., will have to be one way I fight back for being treated wrongly by a business. I hope you can resolve this problem I was inconveniently and wrongly forced to deal with today by either forcing his hand in providing the re-do car wash or issuing a refund. Pay cash inside or card on gas island. But let's talk about the most important thing at am/pm stores. The cookies they make are phenomenal. If you disagree go ahead and try them. Usually super soft and delicious especially the chocolate chunk. You won't be disappointed. This specific location can be decently busy at times especially weekends due to its prices and location. But multiple clerks work at the counter so it typically goes by fast. Stop by and grab some cookies, energy drinks, soda, water, fruit or whatever else you may need at the time. read more

Went to pay at pump and it said it charged a transaction fee of 35 cents and then directed me to go inside. Went inside, waited in line and then explained what happened to the lady at the register and she told me that I didn't get charged 35 cents transaction fee and that I can pay at the register. Gave lady my credit card and she said they don't accept credit cards. I explained to her that I originally wanted to pay cash, but outside kiosk was boarded up. NEGATIVE 00000 stars I loved to go to an Arco gas station because of their price, it's reasonable. Even with a reasonable price, customer service has to be good too. My experience today was bad, not bad but worst than bad. As always I have to pump gas before going to work. Parked at pump #16 went in and pay with a credit card for which they charged me $1 not $0.35. So $30 for gas, $6 for car wash plus $1 charge for credit card was $37 for Pump #16. Went out to pump but couldn't do anything. Went back in and the clerk tells me "you told me 19". I was being cob and asked him what now. They told me they can't do anything to get refund my money because someone pump 19 already. I left the place with a complaint to headquarters and no refund. Didn't notice until I was almost done pumping gas, but they went to cash and credit/debit pricing so I paid 10 cents a gallon more because I used my debit. Normally a 35 cent fee and ended up paying 1.80 instead. Saw another Am-Pm putting up a new sign doing the same thing. Wondering if they are going to do it to all their locations. If all you need is cheap gas and you have no need to actually enter the store, you'll probably be fine. Be warned though as the pumps get busy and you get the occasional panhandler here asking for change or some loser with a bogus hard luck story asking you to pay for their tank of gas. Don't believe them, they're all liars. Now if you have to enter the actual store then it's really hit and miss. Service can be slow if they don't have enough clerks at their counter and their lottery machine always seems to have issues reading play slips. If you need them to manually enter a quick pick or redeem a winning ticket when the machine can't read it, forget it. English is a second language with all the staff, so don't be surprised when they can't understand you. Sometimes, cheap gas isn't worth the hassle. read more

I'm just going to review the gas station - not rant about how great the ol' Chevron was, urban sprawl and the locals. They have fuel for your vehicle here and a car wash! Unbelievable!! How convenient!! It can be busy here at times, mostly when customers are there. They also have FREE squeegees to use and towels for cleaning your windscreen! They also have a mini-mart and a public restroom. I would suggest trying the hot dogs (but not in the restroom). They are perfectly cooked in a warm moist bun. It is a great place to go to get food and fuel at the SAME TIME. HIGHLY recommended!!! :-) read more

Ok, so it's a gas station. However... It's a GOOD one! The hotdogs, cheeseburgers etc are always available and fresh with clearly marked times on them. The Cheese is always full and condiments available. Most of the gas stations around here either have very little hot food or none and what they do have is older and the condiments not as available. The staff I have always had a good time interacting with, from the cheerful african american woman or the grumpy but still somehow friendly older white guy I never feel like I am a burden for being there, or have to deal with someone on their phone talking as though im not even standing there while I give them my hard earned money. read more

Stopped here on our way out of town to get gas. Filled up 2 cars. Neither one would start after getting gas. It wasn't until, after numerous attempts that we were able to get one of the vehicles started. Ended up having to have the other towed back to the house. They have the latest hits playing over the speakers, where the gas pumps are, and they are conveniently located right off of the freeway. I usually stop here at least twice a week for gas and smokes on my way to work. I usually have great service except for lately. There is usually a middle aged woman working, dark hair usually in a pony tail and wears glasses who has now been extremely rude to me the last few times I've been. The other morning I asked for my usual "$20 On 6 please and a pack of Marlboro golds". She goes into the back (without saying anything to me) and comes back out with a pack of "kool" cigarettes. I stated "no I needed Marlboro golds". She argued with me, in front of customers and everything with a line behind me, that "no you said kool!" I said "mam I'm in here every week and have never even heard of the brand "kool" she grabs my correct cigarettes and mumbles under her breath AGAIN that I said "kool" at this point I'm trying to keep it "kool" and not argue back. I left, irritated, without my receipt and all. I usually have nothing but very friendly people help me here, but she is something else. She's been rude on other occasions but I just shrugged it off and went on with my day. This is a disgrace of a gas station. I will never go here for gas again. I went in the other day, a Saturday afternoon, to fill up my car before heading to San Jose for the weekend. I go inside and hand the cashier a $100 bill and ask for $35 on pump #2. He takes the money, gets ready to run the register, then hands the bill back to me saying he can't give me change. He never even opened the drawer to see. I look at him like a retarded alien life form...what kind of gas station doesn't have enough change to break a $100 bill during the middle of the day? There were over 10 cars in the lot and most were pumping gas. I keep standing there and the next guy in line gives him $40 for his tank and the next guy spends $20 on a case of beer, that's $60 right there...you do the math.
