First, when I put my rewards number in it said the right price, but it charged me the regular price as follows. The receipt, which I had to request in store (because the terminals never have paper) showed that it charged me .10 cents more and deducted .10 cents for my rewards. In essence, I received zero discount, rewards, whatever the heck you want to call it. Last but certainly not least, they are still cutting the gas with extra ethanol, because after filling my tank and driving less than 6 miles my tank dropped by an 8th?!?! Beware! The counter keeps going AFTER you stop filling your tank, sure it's only a few cents but can you imaging how much more they are taking in per day because of that, but more important I recently received a new Amex for work, and (I cannot confirm this) but speculate that someone there is collecting the credit card info and trying to make fraudulent purchase. Someone tried to make a purchase of $2060.00 from a place called Mudflap. Again don't know if it was them but don't know who else it can be. I haven't made very many purchase with my card. Horrible carwash and customer service, I paid for the premium carwash and when I left my car still had soap and was barely dried. So I went inside and the lady told me to wait in a 15 mins line and when i asked to speak to a manager she completely ignored me and did not seem to care at all. It looks like a run down ghetto and it's probably the last place you'd consider stopping given the look and feel of this place however the close proximity to the freeway makes this place ideal. It's also close to home and probably the biggest appeal is the cheap gas. Arco consistently has gas priced 10 cents below any other place and given the hike in gas prices recently this is where I always fill up unless I'm out of gas somewhere else and can't make it here in time. Arco only takes cash or debit card but the savings is huge. I really wish they would fix the pumps here and maybe do some remodeling but alas, I'm only here for like 5-10 minute max for gas.. read more

I'm not sure if you've noticed but some cities have way more gas stations than others and it tends to follow the money. Look at Irvine, miles and miles between stations, but Santa Ana, 2-3 on some corners and the same brand within a half mile. As many know ARCO gas uses the debit card system and generally uses what most consider lower quality gas to sell a few cents cheaper, sure so you're not going to find the cleanest, nicest location here. Prior to renovation it was a hard angled, poorly designed and mildly lit grease stain. Prices were good, but in no way was full service of any kind. Lots of people walking here as more of a convenience which tends to be rif raf coming for chips and booze. They were open during construction, but even after completion the ergo's are not much better, it's cleaner, but not much. The service from the cashier's are below average, no smiles, no hello's. The lighting is better, but not by much. They really just need to repave and redo the curbs too. read more

Staff is friendly and prices are reasonable for gas and for food as well. For those that don't know you can bring your own cup and get a coffee refill for 99 cents only! This convenience store has very delicious Mexican hot chocolate, and hot beverages in general. They also have fresh whipped cream, various toppings like cinnamon sugar, chocolate sugar, vanilla sugar, caramel drizzle, chocolate drizzle...they have large sizes for under $3! Don't be fooled by the cheap gas 'cause you pay for air, can't use credit, get charged for debit, and get scammed of $1 Let me elaborate: 1) pumps generally start immediately but this place started after ~50¢ in? You can hear it, feel it, and I even lifted the nozzle to see. 2) they just don't accept credit at all and don't tell you 'til you make it to the counter. 3) they charge your debit 35¢ for a fee that's usually done on credit cards... to pay for credit service... 4) I decided to cash my powerball ticket of $4 (even says it on the site for details) out of convenience and they only gave me $3. I even told them that's not right. I've cashed powerballed numbers before at other places for $4 and showed the clerk the price on the website, but the clerk just said no the machine says it's $3. A lot for just $1 and cheap gas. Overall, if this is a continuous pattern among all Arco or just this one, then it's a huge behind backend scam: $1.85 ($1 lottery + $.50 air + $.35 not-so-credit charges) times multiple people can add up to be a nice chunk of change. read more

If you want your money stolen come here these morning employees can barely understand English, I told the lady if I could get $20 on 10 and somehow she heard 7, went back to ask for a refund and told me it was my fault. I came here to get gas it seemed to be the cheapest in the are (even tho it adds a $0.35 merchant fee, for what?! scamming) the line was long and people were fighting for spots. I get there and the card reader wasnt working you had to pay inside. Many people seemed to be in line for the same issue. I was in a rush so I didn't check my station spot number, the line was long so I asked if they could help me check the guy Alex just said he dunno and said I had to go check myself even though there were 3 people behind the counter and a long line while the other two workers werent doing anything. I left the line to check and came back already annoyed. I got to the front and he ignored me for 2 mins while talking yo his coworkers and counting money, I put money on my station and went out and tried to put gas but it cancelled for some reason. I went back in got in line AGAIN and told Alex and he said it was cancelled and shrugged and wasnt helpful! I asked what he meant he said "i dunno you cancelled" I told him i did not, and he just stared at me as his bigger female coworker just gave me attitude and put the reciept in my face to say I cancelled. I said ok well then put it again and Alex said ok and I asked them both to come help me do it as obviously its having technical issues and I dont want to wait in line to cancel again and they ignored me. I asked again for some of the 3 people just sitting there to come help me and do their job but they wouldnt come out and just stared at me with their lazy fat old asses. I will NOT be coming back here and I will be calling management. They are lucky I didn't cure them out I was shaking with anger! I have worked in service many years in minimum wage jobs and I have never seen such lack of care or service, you don't have to go above and beyond but they doing less than bare minimum! They are parental age and I hope if they have kids that ever need help with something that no one helps them and they understand how they lack ridiculous amounts of empathy and heart. This is one of the cheapest gas stations in the city. So that's why I like it. Once in awhile there'll be some panhandlers out there but the staff tries to run them off if they become a nuisance. It doesn't bother me either way so long as they're respectful. They have lotto & beer too in case you're wondering. These 3 things make them very popular. Beware! I went to this place recently and will not be back. My car has a 13.2 gallon gas tank and it pumped 14.506 gallons and that includes the fact that the low gas light had just come on so there should have been at least 1 to 2 gallons remaining. I went in to ask about contact numbers and the guy behind the counter gave me a song and dance so I called and filed a complaint with the California Department of Food and Agriculture, their Measurement Standards division. This station was remodeled in the last year. It consistently has the lowest price gas that I have seen anywhere. Would get 5 starts, but the access to this station is TIGHT...it is difficult to maneuver and forget about it if the supply truck is there. Like many other Arco's, they have switched to taking the debit cards at the dispenser...much better than the tombstones that were mounted so low you needed to bend over and squint to see them!
