For review 300, I'm switching location back to Newport Beach, CA. again making it more noticeable. I have been following Tommy Bahama Marlin Bar restaurants since our Yelp15 Retreat in Palm Springs back in 2019, so I found out this year their closest branch would be Newport Beach. This past week, I had a half day off so was able to drive out for a quick take out trip. Due to arriving early, I wanted to support a different local biz there so decided to buy me some post cards. I recalled that back in Palm Springs, post cards were sold at Rite Aid; I stopped by this Newport Beach branch which wasn't far from the Corona Del Mar Plaza where Tommy Bahama Marlin Bar is located. At first I wasn't able to find any but once having asked the cashier, she was helpful enough I found them immediately. Wait time at cashier line was fast and efficient: I would return again. You go to the Dr. The Dr writes a script. The pharmacy fills the script. We still can't seem to get the last part right after multiple attempts. They really like to get over involved in what they are willing to fill and when they are willing to fill it. Expect multiple mistakes and multiple trips to the pharmacy. It's seldom a smooth transaction at this location. Avoid. read more

Pharmacist Lucy is the worst pharmacist I ever encountered in my life! She is rude, not friendly & if you ask the question about the medication which part of her job to consult, she says "ask your doctor"! I transferred all my prescriptions to other pharmacy because of her awful treatment. Never go there. read more

Sadly, I've never had a good experience with this pharmacy. The young lady at the front counter is sweet and helpful, however the woman with the long blonde hair is wretched. She acts like she is doing you a favor to serve you. The pharmacist, and older woman with longer gray hair consistantly is rude and late even when you call to make sure your prescription is ready. I have been going there the last year after 40 years at another pharmacy which was amazing but we moved sadly I don't want to come here again. read more

Do NOT go here. Save yourself the trouble and go to literally any other neighborhood pharmacy. Pharmacists are inept and don't care about providing service. Went to pickup my heparin script and they failed to provide syringes. We went right back in and they blamed my provider. They gave me heparin cartridges with no carpuject!. "Pharmacist" said to come back next day. We called back and they then realize I need a carpuject, which they dont carry. Went in circles for almost a week to change to heparin vial. They still couldn't get it right. I'm done with this place. read more

My husband went into Pavilions and my two daughters and I walked next door to rite aid for some things. We checked out but cashier didn't give me a receipt, which I thought was odd. We left the store and met my husband to continue grocery shopping. About two minutes later, the rite aid cashier came bursting through the doors, saying I owed him $126 and I had to come back to rite aid or he would call the cops. I was shocked and went back to rite aid with him. It was an error on his part, not me or my card, and he was highly agitated, very unprofessional. I don't think he should be working with the public if he gets so confrontational and emotional. Very peculiar experience. read more

After a great meal at Pad Thai, we drove out to Balboa Island to check out the holiday decor before it all came down and we missed our chance. Our mouths were still a bit on fire so we ventured in for some ice cream. I love the sales staff here. They're all very friendly and we struck up a short conversation about all the different flavors and even tried a few. We eventually settled on the Medieval Madness - a blend of candy and vanilla and the Cookies and Cream for me. A small size runs about $1.29 and only cash is accepted at the ice cream counter but they'll happily run up a credit card charge at the registers nearby. After we were all paid up and had our ice creams in hand, we were ready to walk around Balboa Island and check out the decor. read more

It's a nice looking Rite-Aid with friendly clerks the day I was there. But this is super high rent district--so it is a mini-Rite-Aid I will call it. Small clean store, but they do have a pharmacy and Thrifty Ice Cream area. They have a little of everything--but not the full selection that larger Rite-Aids have. They do have their own parking lot on the side and bike parking in front. Prices are like most of these drugs stores: High with occasional sales. read more

Take the extra ten minutes to drive to literally any other pharmacy. The convenience factor of it being right next to balboa island is not worth the price increase. Prescriptions are double. They do not honor GoodRX coupons even though it says they are legally required to. I was in a hurry and wasn't able to take the time to go to an alternative and have it called in there so here I am paying double what I've been paying the last three years. They don't honor other locations pricing either or match competitors which CVS has also done for me in the past. For people that really need the extra money this can make a big difference and I thought people should know. read more

At this Rite Aid you can expect to have an experience that consists of: -Rudeness -Incompetence -Made feeling unwelcome -And Confusion, as in "I am confused on how every Rite Aid employee here is a complete moron?" The old trailer park trash cashier lady with glasses is never kind, she leaves the register unattended constantly. I waited patiently for about 10 minutes at a cashier free register before I had to hunt her Freddy Kruger looking ass down in the store, looking through every aisle before I found her reading magazines. She finally gets to the register and asks "What can I help you with??" As if she's put out by me and can't add up why on earth a customer would be at a register with items on the table waiting to be paid for. MORON! The Pharmacy is also no good. My wife's doctor called in a prescription for her to pick up, we go to pick it up and the pharmacist asks for my wife's name. When she can't pull it up she has us to to the drop off window instead, without telling us why, with no communication to her coworker on what to help us with. Her coworker then pulls up a prescription for a dog instead and when I correct her that this is not the right script, she says they do not have the right script at all. Long story short, there is a language barrier here and they kept pulling up the incorrect name. We had to wait over an hour for my wife's medication, while I'm sure it was ready the entire time. Do yourself a favor and go to any other Rite Aid location. read more

This has to be the worse pharmacy I've ever used. There isn't enough staff and everyone seems confused when you drop off or pick up a prescription. Oh and by the way, they seem to never have the medications in stock. Seriously what pharmacy doesn't stock Lyrica? Next let's talk about the long lines just to pick up a prescription. It's insane. They are so unorganized there it's sad. Someone needs to get ahold of this pharmacy and clean it up. Everyone seems like zombies and it's pretty frightening to think they are filling my prescriptions. Well never again! Last night was my breaking point. I dropped off 3 new medications. The Dr is treating a condition I have following chemotherapy. She's having me slowly introduce the meds so several Rx's were written explaining this. The pharmacy tech stared at it and said "this seems strange and we don't have it". I then grabbed all the prescriptions out of her hands and went to Walgreens on Superior. Walgreens pharmacist, Ellen, was on top of her game. I spoke to her at length about how to use each medication. She explained how and why I needed to stagger them. She was so helpful and had no problem understanding why the Dr wrote the Rx this way. Although Walgreens was busy they hire sufficient staff to assist. They also are all kind and respectful. And there are enough chairs to sit in if you need to wait. I think there are 1 or 2 chairs at Rite Aid. I'm switching all medications to this Walgreens. I trust their pharmacist, Ellen. I would avoid this Rite Aid at all cost unless you love being frustrated over and over again. read more

Went into the Bayside Newport Beach Rite-Aid Pharmacy today. Typically the service is good but when there's a problem, things can be different. I went into today around 2:40 to get my booster shot and was asked to fill out a form and was told I would get my shot around 3:00. I turned the form in about five minutes later. My name was called at three, at which time I was told that I needed an appointment since I did not have any pre-conditions. Very disappointing. I wasted 20 minutes of my time. I then talked to the assistant store manager. He was kind and said that I would have to agree that 90% of the time the pharmacy staff are nice. I said that's not the point. They need a sign re walk ins. Also, is the store really aiming to be nice 90% of the time. Also, it's highly disappointing that the store manager did not at least offer to see what he could do even if he was confident nothing would change. I am a regular at this store and hope to see things change. Unless I receive an apology, I will no longer be recommending this Rite Aid. Dave Gunderson read more

Their Thrifty ice scream selection is a joke. Only like 8-10 flavors that are all nasty for the most part. Who wants cherry chip? They didn't even offer basic vanilla or strawberry. Terrible Pharmacy! The pharmacy manager is extremely rude and questions early refills even if approved by a doctor and after 25 days (the law states if permitted and after 25 days of previous refill, you have to fill it). To deny refill is illegal. If you need to fill a prescription for a controlled substance, do not go here. I plan on writing to the California State Board of Pharmacy and filing a complaint. read more

Ran in last night to get CoconutPineapple ice cream, moms favorite, for the birthday party. Couldn't get anyone to help me so took 2 other flavors to the front counter where the girl with the major chip on her shoulder said they didn't have the kind I wanted and no, she told me rudely, didn't know when they would be getting any. So bought the ones I didn't really want because I couldn't go empty handed. After tasting the Thrifty Butter Pecan ice cream I put the entire gallon in the trash. Tasted gritty, like it had been frozen defrosted frozen re-frozen a dozen times. yes the remodel is nice but the low quality of your signature products like ice cream and the snotty staff must be the price you paid to get there. The staff at this pharmacy has been professional and supportive of all my needs for years. I have been using this pharmacy for about 7 years without a single problem. I see a lot of other customers being extremely rude and inconsiderate. These people can not communicate properly and therefore they have problems. This staff is great !!!! read more

The bayside pharmacy always disappoints. The employees are not all there mentally. I avoid this place whenever possible.

They never ever ever ever ever answer the phone. So why have a phone number? I hate giving review like this ... but if these people are slammed then their manager needs to know and get them some help. If you want to get refills you have to go in and tell them ... then come back some other day. Why does it seem pharmacists hate their jobs? I think pharmacy managers spend more time leaning out their workforce than servicing their customer base. read more

The pharmacy department is terrible. I've only used this pharmacy for 2 months and they have messed up every single Rx. There is a language barrier most of the time which might explain why things don't get done properly. They break up Rx's (that aren't supposed to be broken up) which quadruples the amount of trips I have to take to the pharmacy. And they have interns that are more or less retarded; they are not qualified to work there. On top of all this it is one of the highest priced pharmacies in the area. I have been going to this Rite Aid for along time because its on my way to work and it seems like the customer service has really took a turn for the worst. For example today I ran in to go get some shaving cream and they were out of the brand I like. I asked an employee if they had any more and he said he was going on break and to ask someone else. It took me 10 minutes to get someone to help me and by that time I couldn't even get my ice cream. Im gunna stay away from this store from now on. read more

I'm very surprised that this store doesn't get the praise that it rightfully deserves. I have gone here a number of times and they have the BEST employees there. Always a friendly, warm welcome each time I come into the store and always feel good about bringing my business to this location. Again, can't emphasize enough how great the people here are. To name a few, Dwayne and Adam are nice. Jennifer, an all star in my opinion; she is quick, efficient, and very knowledgeable. Absolutely horrendous customer service. I called to simply get proof of my flu shot. Although it was at another location, the person at this store brought it up on his computer but refused to send me a receipt telling me to call the other store. Then proceeded to be abusive and obnoxious to me right before he hung up. This was at 7:45 pm, he was male and he was simply rude. read more

I have lived on Bayside Drive for 15 years and I've never left a review for this drug store in the past but I thought today I would. Especially in light of the extra effort that one of their representatives did today who's name was Duane.He was on a break outside the store and he noticed that I was working on my car as the battery seems to have died. Within less than 5 minutes he offered to hook up jumper cables and get me up and running before he went back to work thanks much appreciated Duane. Definitely makes the community drug store feel like a real community! read more

I have been going to this location for years and am finally fed up. The people that work here don't know where products are located, they don't know any product information, and they even have trouble using the cash register which has "issues" every other day. The worst part of this store is the pharmacy and it's incompetent staff. To start, there is always a line at the pharmacy. The pharmacist and his staff are not trained well at all. The pharmacy staff sold me the wrong pseudoephedrine (sudafed), saying it was a 24 hour type. I got home and read the box, which clearly states 4 hour duration. When I went to return it an hour later, the pharmacist and manager refused to return it, saying that I had to wait 30 days because of a federal regulation(which wasn't true). The pharmacist also sold me the wrong type of delsym, which could cause heart palpitations or worse when combined with sudafed! They never once apologized for anything. I immediately went to the rite aid on pch which is 5 minutes away. The pharmacist there quickly returned the sudafed and gave me the right one with no issues at all. They also helped me pick out a cough medicine that didn't interact with sudafed. I didn't even have to wait in a line here! When I was leaving they said " we hope you feel better soon!". Much nicer and better trained than the bayside location. Save yourself the time and headache ( and possibly worse) and don't go to the bayside rite aid. read more
