I have 2 children who go here so far, 5th grade and kindergarten. We have been attending APA since day 1 and we are so thankful that we were afforded this opportunity. The school is HORRIBLE a completed disaster. Unprofessional on every level. Rude beyond comprehension. Liars. They love to gaslight you. When you identify a problem...like having kids go inside their underwear waist...searching kids..no safety in this.. females doing searches on males..with no male present.. teachers having melt downs in their classrooms taking it out on children thru retaliation in grades,emails which are toxic coming from educators...The unfortunate thing is this school operates in dysfunction total chaos. Unable to articulate their own handbook..everything that looks gold ain't gold. A hall aide told me to shush when I was going to speak up about their outrageous unclear rules and directions. I paused and said to myself be quiet in astonishment...absolutely Not! I will call out every wrong intent or action. Nevertheless the uniform is the only nice thing. Its can be expensive for some. It doesn't actually match the school academics/substance. Parents save yourself the hassle and kids find a school that practice what they preach. Which have qualified teachers and administrators. You can go early to the pick up drive line, they don't want you waiting for more than 10 minutes for the kids. Why? The drive line works itself out, I'm not in anyone's way. What if you have more than 1 kid and they get out at different times! The staff should know this. The kids get picked up from any spot. Don't make someone leave the line to go get back in the drive line which is now out to the street. Ridiculous. read more

I went here back in 2014-2015, and oh my gosh , did it ruin my mental health. The treatment of teachers on students was insane, the homework was ridiculous, I was literally only getting four hours of sleep because of the insane amount of school work given out. The teachers obviously don't care about their students.So far to the point where I actually became suicidal and almost carried out the deed solely because of this school. It was so bad that I had to drop out. If you have questions on class or ask for help on a homework assignment , they literally give you the worst advice ever and basically restate the part of the lesson that you didn't get and didn't bother to explain it so you could understand. The staff is not just racist by the fact that they don't like people who have more melanin in their skin, They are racist in the way that they don't like anyone that's not of a very particular breed of white. I once got in trouble because my hair was 'not a natural color'. I am a natural red head. And from that point on, I was treated worse. Guess they hate the Irish! I have also gotten in trouble because I was sitting next to two troubble makers, and they assumed I was one. Every class has assigned seating in this school. Also got sent to the office for letting out a nervous laugh when the class atmosphere was tense. In short, if you want to give your children a hatred of authority, dislike of learning, and the need to see a therapist, this is the place for you! Just make sure you don't enroll them after they finish a grade in public school because they will be 1-2 grades behind their peers! read more

As I reflect upon my experience at Amplus Academy as a teacher, I feel compelled to share some observations and reflections that may provide insight into areas that could use some attention. During my tenure at the institution, it was hard to ignore the uncanny resemblance between the school and a certain correctional facility. The ambiance often left one wondering whether it was an educational establishment or an institution of confinement. Similarly, the manner in which certain individuals interacted with students seemed to draw inspiration from the penal system rather than an educational framework. On the topic of commuting, I must express my admiration for how the school managed to create a traffic and parking situation that can only be described as awe-inspiring. It truly takes a special kind of planning to orchestrate such chaos. I had the privilege of witnessing a truly unique communication dynamic between the "admin" team and the teaching staff. The selective distribution of information and the art of leaving teachers in the dark could be studied as a remarkable case study in organizational communication. Ah, Ms. Cates. What can I say? Her remarkable talent for scolding and judging was nothing short of awe-inspiring. It is truly a marvel to encounter someone with the ability to provide unsolicited feedback in such a creative and uninviting manner. And then there's the issue of the compensation, which can only be described as barely livable. It's heartwarming to see a place so committed to making its employees feel valued. I must express my gratitude for providing me with the opportunity to explore alternative means of employment, resulting in no financial loss on my end. I take comfort in the knowledge that I have been fortunate enough to work with several other educational institutions, each with their own unique approach to chaos management. Yet, it was heartening to discover that Amplus had a truly distinctive approach by not bothering with a discipline system altogether. The belief that students can self-regulate is indeed a bold and innovative strategy. Lastly, I must extend my gratitude for the subtle entertainment value provided by the revolving door of staff members. The swift turnover and the creative advancement of paras to the esteemed position of full-time teachers truly add an element of surprise to the educational landscape. In conclusion, it is with a heavy heart and a sense of profound relief that I bid farewell to Amplus. I have been going here for around six years already, back when it was still APA I could enjoy the school and be happy with strict but caring staff members. However now that it is Amplus a lot has changed, with the change in faculty members it is very obvious that the new administration and staff do not care about the children. I have had an insane amount of mistreatment at this school. The staff doesn't even try to hide it anymore, the front office is so uncaring to most if not all the kids, and the ones they are nice to and like are vicious and mean. With the only reason of liking them is because they are athletic, not to mention (some, not all) the teachers. One teacher is so scummy that they make students grades lower on purpose and tell them to pay them real money to raise it. This is an actual crime and it seems many students know this and have to comply all because they are not sure that the staff will even be on there side. These horrid people are so absolutely biased that even if one person who has never gotten in trouble even does the smallest thing they are reprimanded more than the students who actually cause trouble and harm. There is so much more negative things about this school, but I will be stopping here. For the staff reading this (if you are) I hope you become a better person and quit your job because this place is trash. read more

I am very grateful for my kids to be in this school, They have been there for a full year.A first grader and a 7th grader. Love the uniform, the respect and the structure, yeas at times is a little bit overboard but in reality this is what this new generation lacks, structure, so my family is happy to be part of Amplus academy. I rather have my kids in this school than on a general public school. Academically i can see the improvement of my kids. I would recommend this school to anyone. read more

We love this school and everything about it. We love the values they instill in our children, the uniforms they wear, and the level of education they provide. They are very firm in their policies and some may find it too strict, but that's why we love this school. They had a most amazing assembly for veterans and honored each one and thanked them for their service. The car line runs pretty smooth to drop off and pickup your kids. The staff and faculty are very nice and professional. The teachers we know are very passionate and are experts in their field. They provide education from K to 12th grade. There is an application and proficiency test to get in and a lottery system if there is too many applicants. If you are serious in you child's education and want good wholesome education with no common core American Preparatory Academy is the school for you. read more

At first, i thought this school was very good. but after several months passed, I don't think this school is not that impressive. They have a strict uniform policy. Students have to wear uniforms with school logos and you have to get them from a certain store with very high prices. Students have to put name tags and they are so easy to lose. Every week my son loses it and we have to order it. I don't think the management is not nice and caring to students. They are very strict to students for school policy, such as uniform infraction and tardy; however, they are easy going for school administratio/management. read more

I love this school. My kids have been going to the school for the past three years. Teachers are absolutely amazing and they actually want to teach your kids. Communication between teachers is extremely easy. Academic is definitely a high-priority with American preparatory academy. read more

I've been going to this school for three years now, and so far it's hasn't been the best. The teachers could care less about you, I've seen kids being picked on and the teachers do NOTHING about it...the education is alright, they've switched the math around a few times, this years we're doing a mix of ixl and another math. The students focus more on gossip then actual studies. Our principal is very kind. One good thing I like about this school, is how well they lmow everyone, if u decide to put your children in this school, I can guarantee you teachers/the principal will know your student by the end of the year. read more

As a former student of this school, I'd like to share a couple of points with parents that want to send their child here. First thoughts on this school was that they were family-friendly, the social environment was nice, and the teachers were very kind and unproblematic in the sense that they didn't force political views and religious views on students. Then a few weeks went by, and all the stellar things about this school soon began to fade, and then I realized that most of it are all for show. The students here are incredibly cliquey and toxic, and some of the teachers have really unrealistic grading rubrics. Although you might be saying "that sounds like a regular high school experience "... No, imagine that but a lot worse. Teachers also seem to not like it here, because ( pre-pandemic ) many of my peers had to experience many different teachers in one school year. The curriculum is mostly advanced but although the student-to-teacher ratio is quite small, some of the teachers won't have time to help you or simply will tell you to refer back to the textbook ( which obviously isn't much help). This means that even if the classroom is small, the teachers aren't one on one with students. After becoming a fully independent school, I've heard from friends that still attend say that they seemed to have ditched textbooks for math and are now teaching math with edpuzzle videos and khan academy which is ridiculous but seems to be working fine if they are still continuing with that. I originally joined the school with honors math and I was pretty ahead of the game. But unfortunately, when I enrolled, they put me in a " regular " math class in junior year which meant that I had to take it again senior year ( the honors version of that class ). So, when I graduated I was a math subject behind... This school is also incredibly unorganized and seems like they know what they are doing to the general public and to some parents, but really aren't and it shows in the curriculum and in event planning. Finally, as a freshman in college, I'd say that I'm a lot less stressed than I was in that school. In fact, I don't have bad anxiety anymore and I feel a lot healthier mentally. This school is mostly about scores and not much about mental health, so just be careful if you do attend and make sure you take care of yourselves.
