The school has a lot of bullying issues and doesn't have a proper way to resolve them. Their method is to give "lunch detention for a few days" including the child who gets bullied. "To be fair". What is that teaching our children? To me that is absolutely absurd! If my child feels the need to defend themselves, why should they be punished? My child received death threats from other students and has attempted to push off other students, and yet gets punishment. My child doesn't feel they are able to speak up, and feels discriminated. "Mommy, why am I the only one getting in trouble?". A child should not feel this way at a place of learning and what is deemed as "safe". I am not the only parent who feels this way as I have asked others about their impression of Tony Alamo. My child did not dislike attending school until we ended up with this one UNFORTUNATELY. I also want to recognize Ms. Lehman for the amazing job she does as principal. Her leadership, dedication, and heart for the students and staff are easy to see. I believe God has great things planned for this school and its future. Of course, no school is perfect, and every school has areas where it can continue to grow. What stands out to me at Awaken is the heart of the staff. I believe the teachers and staff genuinely care about their students and desire to keep God at the center of what they do. That means so much to our family. I am grateful that my sons are not only receiving an education but are also being encouraged in their faith, character, and relationships with others. As a parent, knowing that my children are surrounded by people who care about them and want to see them succeed gives me peace. One major concern is that the school often relies on parent volunteers instead of hiring experienced, qualified coaches and staff, while at the same time cutting programs and resources for students. It's frustrating watching tuition costs remain high while equipment, opportunities, and overall program quality continue to suffer. The increasing church influence has also significantly changed the atmosphere of the school. Many families, myself included, have questioned the decision to place so much authority and financial responsibility in the hands of individuals like Fred, whose background and past business dealings have raised concerns within the community. What was especially upsetting was the abrupt closure of the high school, which left many parents scrambling to figure out where to place their children with very little notice or support. Shortly afterward, the church immediately took over the former high school classrooms, which only reinforced what many families had already been fearing -- that the long-term priority was shifting away from education and toward church expansion onto the school property. At the same time, several critical administrative positions have either been eliminated or consolidated, placing even more pressure and responsibility on the few staff members still trying to hold everything together. Morale appears low, turnover has increased, and the overall structure feels increasingly unstable. Many parents stayed because they believed the promises being made, but over time the disconnect between those promises and reality became difficult to ignore. Sadly, the focus no longer seems to be centered on the students, and the school now feels like a system barely holding itself together.

He completed kinder this past school year at Pinecrest Academy and was awarded an Excellence in Accelerated Reading award along with Principal's List All A Honor Roll. We strongly believe Aprende Academy pre-k prepared him very well for kindergarten. We enrolled him back in 2017, he attended 3 hours per day/5 days a week for $495 per month. Highly recommend.

This school is wonderful. Parking and pick up can be frustrating sometimes but that's on the lazy parents who do not want to park appropriately and walk a few feet to pick up their children. The staff tho is amazing I've never had any issues or back talk or rudeness from anyone. If my kid wasn't feeling well they would call me immediately. If my kid had an issue with another child they would call me and explain the situation or I could easily text the teacher and she would handle it. The teachers seemed very interested in my kids education as both of them also require IEP for speech delay and autism. I just felt really heard with any concerns and they show genuine interest in my kids me tal well being as well as education I hope they can stay here instead of starting at another school. The other two options don't look very good.

One teacher I would especially love to recognize is Miss Langman. She is one of the most professional yet fun teachers around. If I was in elementary school, I would want her as my teacher and if I had a kid, I would want her as my kids teacher. She always makes it a fun experience with singing and dancing, even connecting songs and dances to lessons to help the kiddos remember, but also keeps it grounded by doing meditations and affirmations with the kids. She maintains an amazing patience with her kids and always lends a helping hand when teaching. She loves each and every kid and those kids love her. Seeing them grow up and go through different grades and still getting excited to see Miss Langman in the halls is truly heartwarming. Everyone across the school knows her for her hard work, dedication, and just in general brightness. Kids from other kindergarten classes even love coming into her room. She truly pours her heart and soul into this school and these kiddos and it shines through in everything she does each and every day. I truly cannot express enough how much of an amazing teacher she is. She makes school fun and makes the kids excited to come in everyday.
