Each year, I am completely blown away by the level of talent, creativity, and effort that goes into every performance. From the set design to the costumes, the music, and the choreography, everything is executed so professionally, yet with a warmth and joy that only a school production can bring. I know firsthand how much work it takes to put on a show like this, and I truly admire the dedication, patience, and passion of all the teachers, staff, and volunteers who make it possible. Watching the kids shine on stage is such a rewarding experience, and it's clear that they are learning so much--confidence, teamwork, and a love for the arts. I am so grateful to everyone involved for creating such memorable experiences for the students and the audience alike. Judith Steel Elementary School sets a high standard for school productions, and it's inspiring to see the time, energy, and heart that go into these shows. Keep up the amazing work--you are making a real difference in these kids' lives, and it shows in every performance!

Speech Therapists Ms Tahnee and Ms Sharon really did a great job with her speech. Ms Nathalie OT. Ms Wright is also a special ed Pre K teacher and she is also great. Kudos we cannot say thank you enough to everyone. We really wish to return to this school if possible. Everyone deserves a raise!

Overall though, they seem pretty decent and want your child to succeed, even offering free after school tutoring. Some were very quick to respond to emails, some you would wait 1-2 days before hearing anything back. As far as homework load, that seemed fairly balanced. My child didn't have much trouble getting it done. My only suggestion would to be to switch up the semester Science projects. It was the exact same packet and project choices, for five years. They never did anything different and by grade 8, my child was mind numbingly bored with the same options. Next: bullying and drugs. Bullying is absolutely not tolerated here. Shout out to the Vice Principal, Mrs. Chipman, whom nips it in the bud with a quickness. They also have zero tolerance when it comes to drugs and are swift to react to any incidents. So high kudos for that. School events; a few are themed and very cute, others thrown together with very little thought (especially this last year). There would be only a couple days notice to the day before the event. It was strange. Graduation for 8th grades was not well executed either; no enforcement on the 4 tickets limit given so everyone that wanted to, attended (aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, you name it). They ran out of seating quickly due to this. It was unfair to those that followed the guidelines and they never addressed it. For a school that is so stringent with kids regarding rules, that was a bit disappointing to see. Next up, the front office... if you're lucky enough to catch them on a good day, they can be very helpful but again, that is a mixed experience. Catch them on (regular) bad days and they are dismissive, short, and rude. As someone who has to make calls throughout the day at my job -and- taking in consideration that I'm sure they deal with a few unpleasant parents, I'm always polite, not once ever calling with an attitude. It doesn't seem to matter. And God help you if you get ahold of Alisha; the rudest, most foul tempered of the lot. How she still works there is absolutely beyond me. If I spoke to clients the way she does to parents, I'd be fired in an instant. It got to the point that if I heard her voice answer, I would just hang up and try again later. Last but not least, the emails. I get that they need to keep people informed but the frequency that they send them is just obscene. I'm not joking. It's -at least- three times a week and the timing is so random. Sometimes you'll get them at 2pm and sometimes you'll get them at 5pm, 7pm, and up to 9pm. Weekends aren't safe either. They really need to learn to reel that in with designated frequency, days, and times. It gets overwhelming quick and it's easy to miss updates. Overall, it's an okay school but needs some restructuring, especially the front office staff.

The staff have always been friendly, compassionate, and communicative. My son was in classroom 101 with Miss Julie and Miss Vichiny. He absolutely adored attending classes. And the teachers were so caring, they even came to see him act in a non-school sponsored play. Most importantly, my son was never, ever made to feel he's scholastically behind or socially problematic because of his larger-than-average emotions. (We left a previous private school for this reason.) Second most importantly, he was taught to read children's books and do impressive pre-k arithmetic! I still get a thrill watching him sound out words! Most children are not taught to read until at least the first grade. Challenger is unique and way ahead of the curve in this way. It's such an educational gem in Las Vegas - I wish I could tell more parents about it! The tuition is more than worth it. We also love how Challenger isn't afraid to shake up routines and get creative with the kids. They changed their policies to only require uniforms Mondays and Tuesdays. This was good for my son because - with his anxiety - he can get a little too attached to certain habits and structure. This forced him to be more flexible and go-with-the-flow, even if it was only regarding his school clothes. Unfortunately, we did have to pull our son out a couple months early because my husband and I both got laid off from our jobs at the same time. That said, it was the best introduction we could have ever given him to education. He'll be miles ahead of the other kids he's going to be attending public school with in the fall. Hot tip for you ultra frugal parents: Check local swap, sell, and exchange apps for other families selling their used Challenger uniforms. It can save you bundles of money!
