My first visit to Bishop Gorman High School was to attend The Pirates of Penzance @The Performing arts center. Tickets were available for purchase either online or at the door. Checkin was fast & easy with a small concession when you enter. The auditorium is clean and fairly small so there's not a bad seat in the house. The show was very enjoyable with several laugh out loud moments! I'm so happy I noticed the poster for this show while shopping at The district in Henderson. BRAVO!

Opening scenery for Into The Woods. The footlights on the stage are visible in this shot.

*** This review is for the Jim 3 House of Performing Arts *** I've been to Bishop Gorman several times to see shows in the Jim 3 House of performing Arts. The Jim 3 entrance is directly across from the stadium entrance. The performing arts center has both an auditorium for large productions and a smaller black box theatre. The seating in the main theatre is classic high school auditorium. There is a proscenium stage and the seating is arranged in three sections, left, center, and right--standard seating for many theatres. Seating is comfortable. If I had any quibble with the auditorium it would be that I think the pitch of the seating should be a greater degree to ensure better viewing when you have a tall, big hair person, or inconsiderate jerk who sits there with a hat (oh there are more jerks than you think, male and female). Last night, I attended a production of Stephen Sondheim's "Into the Woods." The lighting in the theatre was well designed. Most of it is above the first few rows in a ceiling area, and it's very much out of the way and unseen. Sound in the theatre is great! Actors could be heard easily whether speaking in low volume or above. I really like the theatre and hope to see many more productions here.

They seem focused only on activities that benefit the school's ratings or attendance, yet they don't even hold a commencement or recognition ceremony for students moving on to high school. When you raise concerns, they often deflect blame onto CCSD, even though many other middle schools in the district do hold ceremonies to honor their students and celebrate their achievements. Just disorganized and poor leadership! Additionally, if your child has any absences, the school may escalate by contacting the school police to your home for missing absence notes, rather than simply reaching out to discuss the situation directly. Overall, this has been a very disappointing experience. I wish I had known more before enrolling my child here.

They're quite funny and some are actually fairly reasonable. Now for those of you who say Vista is awful and berserk, I must say that's a fallacy and your own opinion. It's just the matter of what someone does and what actions they take, as well as who someone chooses to group up with. Vista is good in its own way, but also has its flaws. So remember it's just a decision based thing on almost everyone's part. - a former student who graduated from Vista.

Because of this teacher, my son is now being told he cannot participate in graduation over a 0.5 credit issue that honestly feels personal at this point. What makes it even more concerning is that I have two children at this school, and both have experienced the same problems with this teacher. Is that just a coincidence? Las Vegas already struggles with the level of education being provided, and having teachers who take away a student's opportunity to walk at graduation something every teenager dreams about is truly disappointing and shameful. Parents should be very careful and stay involved, because from my experience, this school does not genuinely care about the students' future or success.

Unable to articulate their own handbook..everything that looks gold ain't gold. A hall aide told me to shush when I was going to speak up about their outrageous unclear rules and directions. I paused and said to myself be quiet in astonishment...absolutely Not! I will call out every wrong intent or action. Nevertheless the uniform is the only nice thing. Its can be expensive for some. It doesn't actually match the school academics/substance. Parents save yourself the hassle and kids find a school that practice what they preach. Which have qualified teachers and administrators. Anyone can open a school...and not be an educator. I disapprove of this charter school 100%

Went to see the production of WONDERLAND at the school last night…read more It was a modern-day retelling of a classic story from Broadway hit-maker Frank Wildhorn (Jekyll & Hyde, The Scarlet Pimpernel). Adult Alice, a modern-day, disillusioned video game developer from New York who is juggling a failing marriage, motherhood, and intense work environmentto the point of challenging her own sense of identity, she follows a rabbit down a service elevator and crashes into a bizarre, upside-down reality. Welcome to WONDERLAND. Alice had to face a sinister, power-hungry Mad Hatter, a Queen of Hearts, and a charismatic Cheshire Cat. Alice's quest to find her lost daughter forces her to confront the greatest mystery of all: how to find the courage and wonder she lost long ago. The girls who played Alice, the Queen of Hearts, the Mad Hatter had amazing vocals. All the kids in the show were amazing with their acting, singing and dancing. The orchestra, WOW is all I can say about them. They were fantastic from start to finish. They all did such an amazing and professional job with the entire show, the stage hands, the lighting and sound, it was all like a professional show. High praise for the kids. The staff??? In the lobby, there was this one staff member, strong accent and very long fake lashes who makes one concerned about our future generation. On the table there was a sign that clearly said "SOLD OUT". We got our tickets on House Seats, obviously I had tickets otherwise I would not have been there, I had already talked to this lady once asking where the restroom was when I first arrived. So unless they just let anyone wander in off the streets to use the restroom on a show night??? As I said, we got our tickets on House Seats which means they were free. I wanted to support the kids, the theater program and the school, so I went up to the table and I said; "IF, I were to purchase tickets, how much would they have cost?" This young brilliant adult mind, looks at me, points to the sign, and says, "We are sold out". I'm retired military, I have a business degree, my generation learned how to read and like I said, I didn't just wander in off the streets just because.... I responded with, "I have tickets, which I displayed in case she was confused, I said I know it's sold out, I'm asking what the prices of the tickets would be if I were to buy them? The gentleman next to her quoted a range of price which prompted a short discussion between the two. OMG, I'm afraid for our future generation of kids. I handed the guy $40 to which he asked what it was for? I said a donation for the kids, the program and the school. I guess a lot of people don't think to donate if they got tickets for free which is sad. Programs in schools need our support and if you could have seen the production, it was amazing. Sadly it's becoming less in Public Schools. Their sound/lighting control area was better than some shows I've seen around town. The stage was massive, the props were professionally designed, the kids, from the Technical Director, down to the stage hands and every position in between, this could have easily been a production on the strip, that's how good it was and how amazing of a job the kids did. I will gladly go see a show here anytime and will gladly pay whatever the price is for a ticket and then some, to support such an amazing theater program. And again, the orchestra, one of the best from start to finish.

Application process is longer than usual , it's hard to get a response from admin staffread more
