The indoor part of the facility used to be a supermarket or department store, so it is quite large. The whole place is clean, well lit, and the air conditioning is better than I expected. Nicely cool in the summer, and comfortably warm in the winter. My unit was on the end, right near the curbside door, but I noticed looking down the aisles that they are very wide, if you wanted to access your unit while the tenant across did the same, there would be no problem. The roll-up door worked smoothly, and the built-in lock eliminates having to buy or supply a padlock. There are always plenty of flatbed carts available. Not 24 hour access, but you can get in 7:30 am to 10 pm every day, holidays included. Office staff very friendly and helpful, and the managers live onsite. Even when the office was closed, a few times when I went to my unit, I saw one of the managers, so they don't close up the office and disappear. Although I didn't have a need for it, I noticed they have plenty of room for outside storage (like vehicles & equipment) and again, it is clean and well organized. If I ever need storage again, I will definitely return here.

Raising prices like this is not unusual for storage spaces, however ESS has done it every single time with the 3 different locations I have used them across 3 states. Did my sign up online and got a good rate if I prepaid 3 months, now I knew they would raise it after that period, however usually they up it via a letter, you call and talk to them and negotiate to somewhere in the middle. This time I got a notice saying my rate would DOUBLE... I called, expecting the usual song and dance and firmly explained me being upset for the huge increase, he told me their price was still way below market value, this was not true, I had looked at multiple local places and their price was on the high end of market value, but by no means far below it. Guy on the phone just told me we had nothing to talk about if I thought the price was high, no attempt to say we could try to lower the price, just claiming it was well below market value. He basically hung up on me... Now I was coming in a little hot, but I'm not an aggressive person, but even my most firm is not that harsh. Been in a new place for a few months now, significantly lower, they haven't raised my rent, easier location to get in and out of, and my space has a light inside it. I knew what I was getting into with another ESS, but the fact that this guy could not have cared less about keeping my business and was either wildly misinformed, or straight up lying about what local rates are is just nuts. Stay. Away.

It caused us some inconvenience when they said they won't be able to unload and unpack same day. So we spent the night without any furniture, clothes, or anything for the kitchen. As it was all stored overnight in their truck. The crew of 6 were friendly, did their work and hustled. They were responsive to our needs and always polite. We appreciated that. However what didn't work well for us is that we lost a cabinet in the move that they dropped and it got damaged! Post the move we also spotted a few prominent damages to our furniture like a full chip off our brand new mango wood breakfast table, a rip near the leg of our living room loveseat. Chips off night stands. And skid marks near the door trimming and hardwood Floors. The prominent one was the sliding door new closet cabinet that we just cannot use because of the crack and breakage at the top and back entirely. They need to take better care with the move especially when the crew changes hands to finish the job. And if you're considering them make sure you double check and verify how long will it take and cost upfront. We were told one thing and what ended up happening was different.

When I called and booked, I gave a description of what I had for furniture (2 beds, 2 tvs, couch, coffee table, 2 end tables, a small desk and boxes & bins. I was told that it sounded like It would be a couple hour move. The distance between locations is only three minutes. They arrived at my prior address at 8:30, and got started at 8:45. They did not finish unloading at the new address until 3:30. The two guys were nice enough, but I should have known from the minute they started, that there would be issues. One of the guys was complaining right off the bat about his job, his boss, etc. And would also just start conversations instead of loading up the truck. The other guy, had a bad back. So I can understand going a little slow, but how does that become my issue and having to pay more because they were going slow? They didn't seem to start picking up the pace Until I started to ask how much longer they were going to be. Another thing, one of them used the bathroom and didn't even flush. And a bigger issue, Was that I had a stepstool go missing. It was with all of the stuff to be loaded onto the truck, and it never made it to my new address. Which is really disappointing. I did end up tipping both of them, because it was hot, but honestly, I kind of regret that. The move cost me $1300. I will never recommend this company. This move should've taken half the time that it did. Really disappointed. Never again.

I had a terrible experience renting a truck from U-Haul for a one-way move from Raleigh to…read moreKissimmee and the condition of the truck was completely unacceptable. Shortly after picking up the vehicle, I discovered the radiator reservoir hose was broken, which forced me to stop and repair it myself just to safely continue the trip. A rental truck intended for a long interstate drive should never leave the lot with an issue like that. The steering wheel was not straight, indicating a possible alignment issue, and the front left wheel bearing was leaking lubrication, which caused constant noise and made me question the safety of the truck for such a long drive. Even worse, the cargo box leaked during rain, allowing water to get inside the truck and soak several of my moving boxes. Among the items damaged were law school books that cost approximately $200+ each, along with other personal belongings.Between the mechanical issues, safety concerns, and property damage caused by a leaking cargo area, this rental created significant stress and financial loss during my move. I am extremely disappointed that a truck in this condition was rented out for a long-distance trip. I hope U-Haul takes responsibility for the damages to my belongings and the condition of the vehicle.

He's been there for me every step of the way and continues to provide amazing customer service. 11/26/2024 Update: I just moved my stuff out of storage in an effort to finally get rid of most of it. Getting stuff in and out of this facility is a breeze. They have 2 elevators and an actual covered parking garage. Leaving is bittersweet, because I've enjoyed my interactions with Brandon. Brandon is what makes this storage facility special. You can absolutely depend on him. I know I'll be back one day.
