Lisbon was feeling 35 degrees that day, so I was on the look-out for some much needed ice-cream. Found Amorino and was looking forward to trying them out, as it's highly rated. Boy, it was a huge disappointment. The gelato rose was poorly made, and my overpriced frappé didn't even come with the advertised whipped cream. Apparently, the girl working that day didn't know to use the machine. She didn't say anything until after I got it. The lady on cash also attempted to shortchanged me (I gave a €50 bill) by giving me €28 back in various bills and coins thinking I wouldn't count it. Not cool! read more

Their gelatos are really good with tons of flavors but the main draw is the cone rose with as many gelato flavors as you ask. The Rua Augusta location is always super busy and there is a long line to get in and get your ice cream. The staff is friendly and don't mind giving out samples for you to try but it does slow things down. read more

There are TWO Amorinos in Lisbon! After dinner, while I was walking back to my hotel, we were talking about getting gelato, and then we see Amorino right next to us! Clean and easily accessible shop right of rossio square. Great customer service and all spoke English. Unfortunately, they only accept Portuguese credit cards, so we had to pay in cash. We ordered one pequeno gelato (€3.5) in a cone, did strawberry, raspberry and mango sorbets--delicious with such beautiful presentation! We also got the dark hot chocolate (€4.5) which was so rich it should've been called drinking chocolate. I've had better hot chocolate so I'd probably skip this next time, but it was cool to see that they have 10 flavors of hot chocolate and about 20 for gelato. My absolute favorite gelato above Santini in Lisbon. Not too sweet and a great choice of vegan sorbets including chocolate and also banana. Kids loved it as well. Can get cones, waffles, crepes and macaroons on the side. Will definitely try to hit this place one more time before we leave. read more

In an alternate world, when the guy at Amorino told me that I could put "as many flavors as you want" into my tiny medium cup, I would've proceeded to be as annoying as possible and asked for a bit of all 20+ flavors. Because seriously, as many flavors as you want?? At some point it must get impractical. Unfortunately as a docile tourist I stuck to just two flavors, their milk chocolate and caramel. Gelato quality is excellent for a chain. The caramel was the standout--they include pieces of burnt caramelized sugar which makes me giddy. Only 4 stars simply because of the price. Right on the tourist strip is this brilliant little gelato place will please your taste buds!. There are a lot of organic and vegan flavours, the staff are friendly, the gelato is delicious. The dark chocolate sorbet and the banana sorbet were great, the pistacho sorbet wasn't too bad. You can get as many flavours as you want in a cup, and if you get a cone they turn it into a flavour!
