Not too many places have we gone to that when we left, we say we will be back here. This is that place. Exceptional food, authentic tasting Italian food in Isla. Dan (husband of the owner team) came and visited with us a couple times. You can tell he loves the place as much as anyone. With Italian food, I also prefer very good Italian wine versus a cocktail. He pointed me to 2 red wines that were bold and heavy as I requested. Both were just OK, but expensive. The Arrabiata penne is spicy and subtle in saltiness and balanced with perfectly Al Dante penne. Slight sting of the spice tingles the tongue while the sauce feels weighty. The risotto is the star of the shrimp risotto and perfectly cooked while flavored with subtle creaminess and the goat cheese is not overwhelming but perfectly harmonious. The Ossobuco is so tender that it literally falls off the bone with a prick of your fork... the sauce is rich with the wine risotto. The picatta fish was slightly over cooked but the artichoke melody of red onion and Swiss chard was phenomenal! The basil sorbet and Panna Cotta is the perfect way to finish. I can't begin to explain the subtle sweetness of the tomato basil jam and how it perfectly complements the smooth creaminess of panna cotta!
