In fact, she was probably the one of the most helpful Leasing Agents across multiple Pasadena and Los Angeles rental properties. Thank you! I lived here alone from approximately May to February. I have been waiting for my security deposit to be returned. I am neat and have always been refunded my entire deposit from all my apartments Ive lived in. Normal wear of a light beige rug! ( who puts a light beige rug in a rental?) they are replacing it!! And having me play for it instead of having it cleaned! They are painting the apartment after a short stay and having me pay for it!! I've never in my life had to pay for painting an apartment! The paint is very cheap, it scratched very easily (not Benjamin here) That should be their cost of doing business after all I've paid over $4000. A month for a one bedroom. That's are low down! My husband and I are so happy living at Amli in Old Town Pasadena. We became residents over a year ago due to losing our home in the Eaton fire. During that time we were a little out of our minds but Yaneli and Bianca made sure this transition moved as quick as possible. With this life changing event and adapting to a new environment, Yaneli has always addressed any of our concerns or issues with proficiency. I have always felt welcomed whenever I "pop in" for a quick question, she has never been too busy to listen. REPLY: Thank you for your reply. My review does not dispute any of the lease terms. My feedback is regarding Amli's application of said lease terms being inconsistent from resident to resident (shared publicly btw). We also understand the terms are expertly written to protect Amli from having to take responsibility for anything that happens to their residents. Yes, safety is not guaranteed, but that does not give Amli the right to gaslight their tenants or dismiss multiple incidents that occurred on their property- Including vandalism, trespassing, and theft within units and storage areas, as a result of Amli's negligence to mitigate issues brought forth to the property manager. When you are paying premium prices and sold the luxury experience, it's expected that Amli would provide that for their residents. UPDATED REVIEW: I'd like to preface by saying my feedback is not a negative reflection of the leasing agents, leasing manager, the maintenance team, or the custodians. I know they have very little control over anything that goes on around the property. They have all been supportive, empathetic and kind. THEY WORK SO HARD FOR THAT PLACE. They're honestly keeping it afloat. My feedback is directed to upper management and the "offsite" Amli team, who are the ones with the power to make decisions. After 2.5 years with Amli we decided to move out. We love the friends that we've made during our tenancy, and without the little community we fostered there, I don't think we would have stayed as long as we did. Unfortunately Amli let us down over and over again and we no longer felt that living there was in our best interest, both personally or financially. What started as a luxury community became anything but. Our concerns were brought to management on multiple occasions, and seemed to go nowhere. These included much needed improvements to the property and amenities, ongoing issue with parking and EV charging, safety and security concerns (for the property in general and our unit). We experienced incidents of trespassing, vandalism, theft, and stalking. It was upsetting to not only be dismissed, but also gaslit to believe we fell victim to these crimes because of our choice to live on the first floor and along a public street. We eventually went as far as to install our own security cameras in an effort to deter perpetrators. When we finally had enough of the nonsense and found a new home, we needed to leave before our lease term ended (about 60 days). We hoped that Amli would be understanding and let us out without penalty, as they have done for others, even recently (despite occupancy being so low). Unfortunately (for whatever reason) that wasn't the case for us, so our only option was to continue paying rent for every day the unit went unoccupied. It was frustrating to see the process to re-rent the unit be dragged out as long as it was - intentional or not, and disheartening to know that some tenant's concerns are valued higher than others. In the end, we paid 6 additional weeks of rent (which was better than the full 60 days), but it's hard to see it that way when you feel you've been taken advantage of. read more

We moved in over a week ago and this place is amazing. It's very quiet and peaceful, the staff is amazing. Gracie helped us through the whole process and continues to help us if we need anything. The location alone is worth every penny. Walking to the strip just hits different! We are not picky people and we know living in a big building can't be perfect but I must say this is pretty much perfect for us. The neighbors are also very friendly and nice. Onsite property management is what makes the difference, and many of the staff also live within the complex. Yaneli and Bianca have helped me since I first walked in. Everyone is kind and professional and the engineers and maintenance staff, many who also live here, are so fast to come if something isn't working. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. It would be a 5 if management accepted that the elevators are lemons and need replacement. Over the last 12 months, there have been at least 20 separate occasions of the elevators breaking down. Making matters worse, there is no way to get to your building's parking garage (without exiting the building and going to another building) when both elevators are out of order. read more

The apartments and amenities are first rate, beautiful pool, fitness center, business center, great indoor parking.... The location is perfect and provides endless dining and shopping options. Unexpectedly, one of the best aspects is the management office, especially Yaneli. She is extraordinarily responsive and proactive. Nothing is ever too big a problem. Brand new in downtown old Pasadena. I moved out because of arguments with management. Currently under review from various law firms for ADA Violations and harassment. My 76 year old mother on hospice was victimized by management. I changed jobs and notified management rent was a week late. The management thanked me for the early notice and many of the residents were late over July 4th due to holiday following on a Monday. Accused of my Labrador puppies were biting babies. I asked for video surveillance and they refused. Refused because the incident didn't occur. After $13k in training , 6 month of rigorous board and train from industry leading service training , and documented over 2000 hours each in obedience and handler's services needs these two service dogs graduated top of class. If you are handicapped or need special service animals, don't expect any empathy from AMLI Management. They are in full violation. As a nurse, this is repulsive. Recent changes in this apartment have been sad. They have been threatening and overall harmful to the community. Their threats make for empty common spaces and every other week I see people moving out. Why can't upper management they at least try to be nice to us when we pay so so much to be here. Pros: Good location (literally 2 min walk and you're in Old Town), nice amenities (pool is clean, gym is clean and good size, plenty of BBQ spots), front desk is nice. Units are nice and good size, which you would expected paying a premium. However, at times, you can hear loud neighbors, but this is expected in any community. Also, I am usually working and can tolerate noise. If you are sensitive to noise, you might be a little turned off hearing the people above you and their footsteps. So why would I give two stars and plan on NOT renewing? Cons: Parking is a free for all. There are plenty of people who are not residents and they park their cars in the garage which makes spots difficult to find on weekend nights. There are no assigned parking spots (even though they said that would be done when I signed my lease). Package room: Absolute mess. Management said there will be lockers for packages and I have been here for over 4 months, and there is no traction on that front. I've lost a few packages. Essentially UPS / USPS just dumps packages in a room and you have to spend 5-10 min each time locating your package. I have way better things to do than fishing for packages each time. Elevator: Elevator has broken 3x and isn't fixed for almost a week. So, if you have parking close to elevator, you have to go to other side of the building to get to your unit. I've never seen a place with broken elevators at this many occurrences and time to repair this long EVER. it's a joke. The sad thing is all of the above complaints are easily addressable. Other reviewers have mentioned elevator or package room. But, management does not appear to respond or care. Response to Amanda J of AMLI - It is almost impossible to reach anyone at the number given. Ever. We've emailed management multiple times and through the resident portal. But thanks for posting the form response! We moved in last summer. The positives first: It seems safe. The gym is nice. The maintenance guys and office staff are friendly. Beyond that, we're looking forward to the end of our lease. Based on the growing number of empty units, we aren't the only ones. They are stingy on parking and quick to tow. One-bedrooms get one parking spot. If you live with someone, one of you has to park at the garage across the street. (As do your guests unless they get one of 4 spots available when leasing is closed.) This seems ridiculous when there are literally dozens of empty parking spots day and night. The elevators are frequently broken as is the "java bar" in the lobby. Communication is poor - one night there was a fire alarm that stated a fire had been located in the building, not a drill, etc. After a half hour the alarm stopped, but no one from AMLI announced anything. Eventually we all just filtered back in, figuring it was probably safe to return. There are a lot of dogs here (including ours). The "dog park" is a small pet relief area. It is the only one for hundreds of apartments. Meanwhile, there are tons of completely deserted gathering/conversation areas everywhere. Lastly, and this is on the tenants. (Skip this part if you are squeamish.) Even with free poop bags and lots of trash cans, people just do not clean up after their dogs, even in the dog park. You have to watch your step on the sidewalks, and even the little putting green area. I stepped in dog poop in my hallway one day...who does not clean up after their dog inside the building they live in? I'll stop here to avoid sounding like a crazy person. I have been living here for 2 years and there's serious problems with 2 things: 1. Security in the buildings is a joke. Anyone can go inside buildings if they wanted to and there's been so many occasions where solicitors go inside buildings and knocking on people's doors. There's been many instances where random people do DRUGS(not weed) inside or outside the buildings. On other occasions, homeless people have been found trying to get into people's apartments or sleep in front of the doors. This is crazy and unacceptable, but management refuses to have private security on premise 24/7. 2. Loud parties at the pool area. If you are facing the pool area every week there's loud music and parties going on, not just on weekends but weekdays. There's been many cases that on a random Thursday, there's continuous blasting musing from 6pm to 10pm. Since there is no private security or anyone on premises during this time, all these individuals get away with it and continue doing it week after week. The cleanness. The previous tenant moved out without professional cleaning. The toilet and the washer machine were terribly dirty. The toilet was simply brushed without chemicals, and you can still see the stains all around. The washer machine had lots of cat hair inside the rubber. The tables and sofa in the community area were never wiped at all for the whole year that I lived in there. The staff only did the vacuum and watered the plants. If you say this to the leasing office, even to the head manager, he will define you as trouble. The manager pointed me so rudely and said"hey see, **(my name) again" with his coworkers. He even said "hi ** anything not pleased today" when we randomly met nearby the apartment . That's why I only reported the cleanness twice while I lived there. I felt bullied and stressed to report anything else. He moved to another amli location to serve but his mean behavior was still the most impressive. read more

We've been here for 2 years and have just renewed our lease for a 3rd. Although I had a rough experience at the start due to new the construction and processes, things have immediately gotten a lot better. Each time we needed assistance with something, Yaneli and the rest of the AMLI staff has always been super accommodating and helpful. Whether it's issues with the mailroom, parking, noisy neighbors, or our unit itself, we've always been helped one way or another. The leasing office is opened 7 days a week so it's really easy to stop by to say hi or ask questions. The property is really well kept. We always see AMLI cleaning staff going around to help make sure the property is nice and clean. There's also AMLI security that patrols the property so it always feels safe. Mailroom and packageroom access is also extremely convenient so in case we're out of town for the weekend, we know our packages will be stored in the package room. We only run into issues with specific carriers but that's outside of AMLI's control. I think the only ongoing issue is that people are parking on "No Parking" zones and just leaving their cars in other people's assigned spots. But AMLI has been really responsive to having cars being towed. We haven't had any major issues with our apartment unit itself. We had a few times where we needed to make some maintenance orders and it was resolve the same day we made them. Pretty quick turn around. It's nice to know that if something does happen, it'll get fixed almost instantly. We're looking forward to our 3rd year here! read more

Cannot say enough positive things about our experience with AMLI Old Pasadena! Was moving to SoCal from out of state. Was striking out on places left and right until we found AMLI - enter, Manfred aka best leasing agent in the state of California. Manfred put us at ease right away. He was more than accommodating and kept us updated every step of the way. Even silly questions like wondering where they got the bar stools from in the model, to if we could paint an accent wall, Manfred provided concierge like service. Did I mention that everything is completely brand new? The building is super-modern and stylish, with common areas and amenities equipped with tasteful furniture and decor (one of the first tells was seeing an Eames black bird perkily perched in the lounge area). Whether you want to work or workout, watch a movie or simply chill, this place has you covered. A huge shout-out to Manfred Manson! Staff Yaneli was the first person who introduced me to this apartment complex. She was extremely kind, reliable and responsive. She is still to this day even as I am an established tenant. She actively listens and answers all my questions and concerns until I am completely satisfied. She will address emails within minutes and service requests within an hour. Yaneli truly sets the standard here at Amli and was a significant reason why I chose to live here. Edson is also very efficient and friendly. He took care of my service request within an hour and greets me around the premises to ask about my experience at amli. Location I could not ask for a better location. It is extremely quiet and peaceful nestled next to office buildings and away from the hustle and bustle of Colorado St. yet still walking distance if you would like to go shopping or get dinner in these areas. The area is very safe and I always feel secure. Apartment The apartment itself is beautiful. I love the tile work in the kitchen and Samsung appliances which are high quality. Writing this to give an honest feedback of my three month experience here at AMLI so far. Summary: - Pricey - Great location - Kind and responsive staff - Maintained amenities - Modern - Safe and Secure - Quality interior hardware and appliances - Terrible noise insulation between floors - Inconvenient delivery system Price $4300-5400 for ~1300 sq ft 2br 2bath | $3000-3800 for ~750 sq ft 1bed 1 bath. (Prices of early 2022) The cost of rent is similar to renting a house nearby, but what do you expect? It's a brand new build with a prime location in old town Pasadena. A 2 minute walk and you're surrounded by hip places to eat and shop. Not to mention the state of the housing and rent market. That can't be helped. Amenities and Staff The amenities are modern and are frequently cleaned by the maintenance team. AMLI has the added touch of including automatic air fresheners throughout the common areas. There is a nice swimming pool that is probably just as nice as your typical 4-5 star hotel. Grills everywhere so you won't have to worry about finding one even on a busy weekend. TV's are all around if you want to watch outdoors with some friends. AMLI has a clean gym, public office work space, cardio room, theater room, a couple of ping pong tables, fooseball table, two pool tables, and a clubroom to host parties for a fair price. They have an AMLI web portal to easily reserve spaces and I have to give a shoutout to Yanelli and Albert for always carrying a smile. Parking structure & EV Charging Ample underground parking with a few charging stations. Many residents including myself own an electric car, so it would be great if they installed more charging stations. Apartment Interior - 2 bedroom Vinyl flooring in the living room and kitchen area. Carpet in the bedrooms. They use quality hardware for bathrooms and kitchens. I think they use Moen? New Samsung appliances for the stove, microwave, washer+dryer, and dishwasher. Apt Dog park It's small. I have a 15lb dog that has to relieve herself 2-3x a day. The apartment doesn't allow dogs to relieve themselves anywhere else except for this small park. During the dog rush hour, there are large dogs playing in there and I have to walk a few mins out so she can empty her bladder. Not a big deal, but something to consider for dog owners. The community here is dog friendly and I appreciate the general kindness neighbors show my little pup. Negatives These are quite annoying. The noise insulation between each floor is terrible. I can tell exactly where my neighbor is upstairs by hearing their footsteps. I know they're not stomping and just walking normally, yet I still hear their steps clearly. I can tell when they drop their phone and all the other random bumps here and there that might startle us during the day or even wake us up before falling asleep. I've had filed noise complaints; reports of us "stomping" even when we are consistently walking with the intention of minimizing noise by walking on the balls of our feet... basically fast tip toeing... So beware if you're a light sleeper. I would have expected the sound proofing between each floor to have been better than the 1980s non-luxury apartment complex I lived in in LA. I know you have to expect some noise for living in an apartment complex, but it's unacceptable when the ceiling basically vibrates whenever someone jumps upstairs... Puts me in a tough situation battling the fear of disturbing/scaring my neighbors downstairs and kindly asking neighbors upstairs to consider us, knowing it may disrupt or stir up guilt in their regular use of the space.. AMLI won't rebuild the floors so this isn't something you can expect them to resolve outside of the awkward conversations you will have with your neighbors. The package system here is problematic. Not a single Amazon locker when they clearly have the space to add in their hallway next to the leasing office. There are 300+ apt units and the package room looks about 12' x 8' - almost the size of my bathroom. There have been countless times I've received a package notification, but give up looking for my package in the small room after 10 minutes of digging... It's sad that it's the main topic of conversation when talking to other neighbors who are also treasure hunting in the room together with you. I've also had one of my packages mistakenly opened and returned into the room. I'm disappointed in their packaging system. I was shocked that they would spend over 15k on each ping pong table (based off a google search). I would rather them spend it on amazon lockers that actually impacts all of our daily/weekly living. Overall - I enjoy the place. It's definitely luxurious. In fact I would love to give this place 5 stars... but I've had multiple issues with sound insulation and delivery throughout the months and people need to be aware of these very real problems.. so 3 stars it is until they figure out ways to resolve these issues. read more

AMLI Pasadena is a beautiful property--great amenities and high-end fixtures and appliances. You won't be paying luxury rent prices for IKEA quality apartment finishes (no offense IKEA-- I still love you.) AMLI Pasadena is also conveniently located just blocks from Old Town's shopping and restaurants, but because the building sits directly adjacent to a large commercial building, you arent' living right amongst all of the tourists and busy streets. Needless to say, the property management group that built this place spared no expense. However, what really sets AMLI Pasadena apart from all other buildings is their leasing staff. That's right: Surprise corporate America--the people you hire and their treatment of your customers actually affects your bottom line. So treat them well. But I digress... Prior to checking AMLI Old Pasadena, my girlfriend and I had been looking at apartments in the Los Angeles area for several weeks. To our surprise, our biggest apartment hunt challenge was getting a response from the leasing agents of the building we were interested in touring. Our experience with the staff of AMLI Old Pasadena -- particularly Yaneli -- was the exact opposite. Yaneli was extremely responsive, informative, and helpful from time we sent our first email inquiry and all the way through the signing of our lease. She was extremely professional during our tours (both virtual and on-site) and did not hesitate to show us multiple floor plans. As a former leasing agent, I know potential residents can send you on a wild goose chase and then never lease. But Yaneli did not seem concerned with just closing the deal. Instead, she was genuinely interested in getting to know us, and finding an apartment unit on the property that we'd love. So five stars for AMLI Pasadena, but 10 stars for Yaneli. Words can't even describe how great this place is. Let me start with the leasing office, especially Yaneli, who has been showing great support to me before I moved here. From virtual showing to helping me moving my stuff into the new place on the first day, I don't think. The place is freaking awesome, all the amenities (pool, movie theater, business lounge, game room etc looking top notch as a luxury apartment complex should be). All the problems that happened here got solved quickly by the management team and everyone is very helpful. My neighbors are nice and it seems like Yaneli knows almost everyone who lives here. It feels more special when the people work here know who you are. If the girl doesn't deserve a raise I don't know who does. read more

The building seems charming until you actually live here. I've been trying to have my ceiling fan fixed in my living room for 3 months. You'd think I was asking them to build a second story on our apartment. The leasing office is useless ("we can't really do anything after we lease you the apartment"), the maintenance team won't touch it ("this isn't our problem, but the manufacturer's so we won't be fixing it"), and the building manager, Albert, is a non-communicative no-show. Not to mention it's taken them months to properly install secure doors to the outside. It's a great feeling to have unlocked street level doors, while just anyone can walk in day or night... At this point, I cannot recommend the AMLI Old Pasadena to anyone. read more

We moved into AMLI in July 2022. We are in one of the three-bedroom units. It has good appliances and is quiet. There have been no noise issues. The location and amenities attracted us to AMLI after looking at several other places around the Pasadena area. From what we saw, no other apartment complexes came close to what AMLI had to offer. We have primarily worked with Yaneli, and she is great and responsive to requests. They also threw a great Tiki Party at the pool last weekend, which was a lot of fun. All of the people we have met so far have been friendly. The only issue we had was with the air conditioner unit; there was a leak. A service crew was on it quickly, and they installed a portable air conditioner unit while waiting for a part, which only took a couple of days. The air conditioner is working great now. As others have mentioned, the package room is not great - too small for the number of units here. That said, it is manageable so not a big deal for us. I believe the complex is nearly fully leased out now, but some units may still be available - check with the leasing office, and they will help you out. Ted read more
