We've lived at Amli for just over a month now. If this review were based solely on the apartment, it would receive 5 stars. The apartment is beautiful and new in a great area.
However, I had to deduct 3 stars for the office staff. When we first moved in, my mother in law sent flowers. We had yet to sign up for their package delivery system which sends a text and email when a package is received. Having asked them to drop off the flowers in our apartment, which they agreed to and had actually entered our apartment for maintenance, I was more than a little surprised to find the flowers outside my door instead. Having lived in New York before Austin, we are cautious about packages being left outside a door.
As asked though we immediately signed up for their Luxer (sp?) package delivery.
This is the third time in the space of 1 week that my husband has had to go to down to the office to get our packages. 3 different store, 2 different services and we have had to go down each time. This wouldn't be that big deal except for the fact that the office is not open before 10 or after 6. As someone who works long hours, I don't have the time to run to the office to get packages. What really grinds my gears (props to those who get the reference!) is that if I pay for 2 day shipping but can't even get my package until I can make it down to the office instead of their fancy delivery system, whats the point?!
Thankfully, my husband is home from work this week but if he wasn't, what then?
Lastly and perhaps most annoying: my husband likes to park in a specific spot everyday. Since we don't pay for reserved parking, understandable that we would have to move if someone chose to reserve that specific spot. Today, my husband happened to walk out to his car and noticed a sticker stuck to his car's front door saying that his car was about to be booted and towed due to a reserved spot. Please keep in mind that AMLI took our phone numbers, car make, model and license plate when we signed our leases. When my husband parked there, not two hours before going back to his car, there was no reserved sticker. after receiving the warnging there was NO RESERVED STICKER. And yet he received this warning. Why not just call us? or send us an email? They are quick to contact us when there's a welcome mat outside our door but not when they're about to boot our car and tow Furthermore the sticker made it impossible to see out of the driver window and when we tried to peel it off it left white residue that was impossible to see through.
While this can appear to be a small problem, it appears indicative of general lack of organization or perhaps care after a lease is signed. When we first moved in, no one pointed out where the trash on our floor was, where to put boxes, the fact that there are 2 different ways to receive mail, etc.
Most worrisome is the situation with the car.My husband is active duty military. If he is deployed or in the field, I have no reason to go look at his car. They would have just booted and towed it away without calling us? Thanks for the consideration for our troops AMLI.
Customer relations should always be the forefront of a leasing company, regardless of price. However, the fact that we pay over 2300 for an apartment for this type of treatment adds insult to injury.
Updated: My husband went and talked to the office management. Get this: there are stickers that need to be on the car. Not only did we not get stickers, no one told us we needed stickers! Wtf? So our cars would have just been towed through no fault of our own? Not sure whats happening with the management but utterly unacceptable! I don't care if you have a pool and 2 grills, if your mgmt can't get their act together, its worth less than nothing. read more
