My children went to AMKO Auto to buy a 2017 Ford Mustang. The car was on the lift when we got there. They said they were putting the catalytic converters back on the car to pass inspections. They told us that they were approved by global lending $1000 down my son said I can do that Friday. The sales person insisted on doing something with the numbers to bring down the down payment $500 told us they where approved car would be ready Wednesday just call the finance company to finish up. So they did Wednesday came went to pick up the car we we were 10 minutes away and they called to say the car needed tires and breaks but the shop didn't do them. So then they were supposed to to deliver the car to us but it got finished to late and they had nobody to deliver it so we drove down again this place was 69 miles from our house 3 hour round trip. Friday the finance company told them they were not approved. The dealership refused to answer my daughter's calls. Meanwhile my son realized the clutch petal box was cracked. Plus the air bag sensor light was on because the front sensor was broken. By the way the catalytic converters were never put on Tje tent was illegal in Maryland as well. The mileage on the paperwork didn't match the inspection papers. They kept telling my daughter the car was financed until it wasn't they were told that they had a new finance company they just had to come sign the new papers. So they did. Only they drove all the way there to have to wait 2 hours for them to run their credit a second time. They told my daughter to claim she was a 1099 instead of a w-2. They were quick to take that down payment though. They sent. Both my children a treating message because they wanted the car back because they relisted while it was sitting in front of my apartment being insured by me because they dropped their insurance kn the car. Before making the trip, I secured financing through my lender and arrived with a cashier's check in hand. The truck was within my budget, so I was fully prepared to complete the purchase that day. Once I arrived, instead of being helped with the truck I came to buy, I spent a significant amount of time being shown other vehicles and encouraged to consider different options. Eventually, I was told the truck I traveled there for had already been sold. What makes this even more frustrating is that the truck is still listed as available on the dealership's website, even though I was told it had already been sold. As of the time I'm writing this review, the listing remains active. I ended up wasting roughly six hours of driving, fuel, and valuable personal time for a vehicle that I was told was available before I made the trip. Fortunately, I purchased a truck from another dealership, where the process was straightforward and professional. My advice to anyone considering AMKO Auto is to be extremely cautious before traveling a long distance. If you're making a special trip for a specific vehicle, get written confirmation that the vehicle is physically on the lot and available for purchase before you leave home. LAUREL LOCATION !!!! If you are looking for a stressful and unprofessional car-buying experience, this is the place. I purchased a Sprinter van from this dealership on May 26. From the very beginning, the experience was unacceptable. The vehicle had several issues at the time of purchase, and I was told they would be addressed the following morning. When I arrived after 12 PM the next day, the van had not even been touched. I waited over four hours, and nothing was repaired. One of the main issues was with the air conditioning (AC). Because it happened to be raining and cooler outside that day, the AC seemed to function better temporarily. The dealership falsely claimed they had fixed the problem. The very next day, when I drove the van, the AC failed again. I took it to a mechanic, who discovered a cracked hose that needed replacement--an issue not covered under warranty. As a result, I had to pay out of pocket just two days after purchasing the vehicle. The problems didn't stop there. After my temporary license plate expired, I was told the van had to be re-inspected before I could receive another temporary tag. On September 10, the dealership claimed they had my permanent plates and would pick up the van to install them, perform an alignment, and fill the gas tank as an "apology" for the inconvenience. They collected the van in the morning, but by 7 PM I had heard nothing. The manager pretended he had been trying to contact me when, in reality, I had received no updates. I had to threaten to come to the dealership in person before they finally returned my van that evening--with no alignment, no gas, and still no permanent tags. I was promised that my plates would be delivered on September 11, but again, I received no communication. I did not get my tags until September 25--a full five months after my original purchase. During this time, I lost business contracts because I was unable to operate legally without proper registration. This dealership is the worst, most unprofessional business I have ever dealt with. They are dishonest, unreliable, and provide no meaningful customer service or accountability. As reflected in my text message records, I had to chase them for every update and was consistently misled. I am now seeking legal counsel due to the financial and professional harm caused by their negligence. Be extremely cautious before doing business here. read more

Terrible experience. I called to see if a car was available. They said it was. I drove to the location and they said they sent the car to their Laurel location for a state inspection. They tried to show me other cars. They said they had called the Laurel manager and the car was available there. I drove to Laurel and the manager said they had not called and they knew the car had a busted engine and had been returned to auction. Don't believe a word they say. At least the Laurel manager who honest with me. read more

Do not sign the paper that "waives" your right to a warranty. In Maryland cars can only be sold as is if the car is over 6 years old AND over 60k miles. regardless they will ignore request for issues to be covered. make sure to file a Maryland Attorney General consumer complaint, File Maryland MVA dealer violation complaint, Consider federal complaint for safety violations. Document everything incase they are unwilling come to a resolution. read more

They sold me a lemon. I have had my car a year and a half with the warranty. First month I had the car they had to replace the engine and the transmission. Then the Escalade dealership in Waldorf had to replace the differential. All these repairs my car has been in the shop for 6 months at a time. So many broken promises. I would give them a zero if I could. A little over a year and still having transmission problems. I took it to Escalade in Waldorf and it's the transmission again. They first told me from AAmco did not last a year. It took so long for the research the warranty company to come out to verify that it was the trans again the warranty on the transmission from AAmco had expired. The warranty company AAmco offers has a cap on how much they will cover to fix your parts. So they will not cover another transmission. I've barely drove this truck it has been in the shop more than I have driven it. It's a shame I spent $30,000 on a truck a little over a year ago and need a second transmission and I do not have a dependable vehicle from them after all this time. I'm so disappointed. read more

I purchased a used car from them and was never informed -- in person or in the contract -- that the car had battery issues. Shortly after driving it off the lot, I learned the battery was bad, and now I'm looking at $4,300 in maintenance costs just to fix something that should've been disclosed up front. It's clear to me that Amko Auto doesn't know their vehicles well -- or worse, they knowingly sell cars with hidden issues just to move inventory. There was no real care or concern for me as a customer after the sale was made. I'm a hardworking mom of four. I trusted them to sell me something reliable, and instead I ended up with stress, unexpected costs, and a car that needs major repairs. I hope this review helps others be more cautious. Janky motors. Sold me Mercedes still under warranty they refuse to fix the engine. Car cost way too much to be playing these games. They are not a reputable business. One word - "Janky"! First off, they keep a running advertisement for a vehicle they don't even have. When you show up the try to sell you something else. The sales woman was very pushy trying to make a purchase on a vehicle that was falling apart, had damaged paint and the back of the seat fall off. Oh, she says, we can fix that. Her attitude was not pleasant and not good for business. We left and purchased a better quality vehicle else. 1 of the worst dealerships that I've ever experienced in my life! Very unprofessional, my car salesman, when I asked him a question, gave me a very smart reply. This was after the sale of the car. I had to bring the vehicle back to have the tire repaired and his smart a** reply was, I should've did research on the fact that the vehicle didn't have a spare tire! Let me start off by saying this is by far the WORSE dealership to go too. They never answer the phones , horrible on communication. I took my truck back for maintenance (bad battery , horrible breaks +more) I had to go too the dealership to schedule an appointment because they don't answer their phones ( let it be sales their answering). Anyways once my battery was changed (breaks was NEVER changed) I explained too them the problems I had with the car I was told " it's a used car" understood but there's warranty meaning whatever's wrong with the car it needs too be fixed. I bought my truck back literally 5 times just for them too do so little I had this truck now for 2mnths riding around with dead tags, They don't know where my tags are. They never called in advanced too let me know anything. I had too call them over 4 times too figure out what's going on with my hard tags. Nothings been said but they're gonna extend my tags. Back too maintenance. They've took my car too figure out what's wrong with it let alone they constantly ask YOU what's wrong with the car as if you work in that service ... they take the car in the back fake fix what's wrong (DONT EVEN TELL YOU WHATS WRONG WITH IT ) and goes about they're day like nothing. I arranged to come in with one of the sales personnel about a car I was interested in. She was extremely nice upon arrival but than asked me for my ID and a credit check to make sure I'm approved for financing before even seeing the car. I expressed my discomfort with that and she went to speak with the manager "Leon" and after viewing me he decided to let me proceed without it. As soon as I put the key in the ignition the engine light came on which is a huge red flag. I test drove it came back and spoke with "Leon" and he was dismissive and would not give me eye contact while conversing. At this point his behavior is telling me I'm not a valued customer and my money is no good here. He became defensive and insisted the engine light was my fault. It was flashing before I pulled off. Don't come here unless your ready to be gaslighted. After all of this they still would not tell me the price and it's not listed on their site. Especially black women do not come here. read more
