Staff was very helpful and friendly. The ladies at the front desk are always so cheerful. Such a huge convenience to have my Dr Appt, Lab work, and Vaccine done all at one time. Also noticed they are fluent in many languages. I would recommend this Drs Office to everyone. read more

NP Joanne was helpful and the bright spot here, but the rest of the office has been frustrating. Appointments are repeatedly canceled at the last minute, referrals have been to the wrong clinics, and prescriptions have been entered incorrectly, leaving me to sort things out with little to no help from the office. I've never met or heard from Dr. Sharma despite being a patient here for a while. I've just been shuffled between different NPs. At this point, I don't even know if she exists, or if they are just running an office under her name. No one in this office communicates with each other. When I tried to resolve repeatedly last-minute canceled appointments needed for my work clearance, the Office Manager's solution was simply: Go elsewhere. . . Sure: Go elsewhere and pay 400+ for an otherwise free vaccine, or try to find an available PCP with my tier of insurance when no one is accepting . . . Hard to recommend if you want consistent, coordinated care. read more

Amita Sharma, MD - Family Practice Near Me - Hayward, California

NP Joanne Fascio gets a pass bc she was very helpful. However - if I could rate this place ZERO stars, I would. The prescription process here was a nightmare. They had to send me to 3 different pharmacies, because all businesses claimed to NOT receive the script or fax from this office. If it was just 1 or even 2, maybe its just an error.. I can understand that. But when it's 3 different pharmacies, obviously there's some clerical error or network issue. That should be a clear indication that something is wrong, and idk..maybe your team should follow up?? But no... instead, it was me that was calling back & forth, sending emails, requesting follow ups, talking to pharmacists... Why am I doing the job that the office workers should be doing?? Ultimately I decided to part ways because I deserve to receive better care and their blatant disregard to find a resolution was disrespectful. Don't waste your time here. They dropped the ball and never took accountability. read more

Amita Sharma is the worst doctor i have ever met. she refused to prescribe my life saving medication even with other doctors and neurologists and cardiologists calling her and telling her it was needed for me to stay alive. she is currently under investigation by the california medical board. This doctors office is the worst doctors office i have ever been to. they called me slurs AND canceled my lifesaving medication. lied and say they weren't my primary even after i called my insurance to confirm they were. called me slurs over the phone (i recorded it) and also cut me off and wouldn't let me communicate anything without being talked over and interrupted. they don't care for their patients i wouldn't go if you value your health read more

I initially had significant reservations about choosing this primary care provider, specifically because I had seen their low ratings on both Google and Yelp. Switching doctors is stressful, and those poor reviews made me seriously reconsider. However, after several appointments, both in-office and via telehealth, I am incredibly impressed and genuinely relieved that I chose this practice. My experience has been entirely positive and completely contrary to the ratings I saw online. The entire team is great, but the Nurse Practitioners (NPs) specifically have been exceptional and supportive. They have been instrumental in managing my health, especially throughout my disability, providing comprehensive care and guidance that has truly helped me. I especially appreciate the NPs' dedication to detail; they consistently ensure that all my blood work is up to date and that my overall medical records are current and complete. This level of proactive care has been outstanding. If you are looking for a practice with fantastic providers who combine modern convenience (telehealth) with comprehensive, thorough patient support, I highly recommend this office. The NPs have truly made a positive difference in my life and health journey, and I encourage others to look past the low ratings read more

Dr. Sharma, her nurse practitioners, and her staff, are all very friendly, conscientious, caring, efficient, and eager to make sure that all medical needs of their patients are addressed and taken care of. They are careful in making referrals to doctors in other specialties, making sure the doctor they send you to is competent and a good choice for you and your situation, and is covered by your insurance. The worst PCP I have ever experienced. They do not answer refill requests from the pharmacy and require you to call in and name your prescriptions one by one, and you have to pray they transmit the right information or it's a back and forth arguing again with the office staff until they get it right. They require phone call appointments for everything so they can bill your insurance, even scheduling appointments that you don't even know about so they can charge you no show fees. Complete scam of an operation and they have no business being in the medical field. I have moved to another PCP who actually practices with professionalism and decency. However I am still getting billed for "non covered charges" from over 6 months ago that they can't explain and won't assist with. Please send it to collections so I can file a complaint with the Medical Board of California. read more

After I received a new insurance I chose Dr Sharma as my primary care provider and was in need of medication refills. Multiple times Dr Sharma's office sent incorrect dosage to refill and I had to work with them during the course of weeks to correct the problem with no avail. They completely ignored emails submitted via my chart secured portal but randomly communicated via unsecured e-mail. Office doesn't return phone calls either. I suffer with a serious life threatening medical condition. Dr Sharma failed to send prescriptions for refill leaving me without medication and worsening my symptoms. There are numerous negative reviews about her and I think her license needs to be suspended. read more

this place is the worst of the worst. they're in business to make money and you are the product they use. Nurse Amberlee not only runs the office she runs the Practice too. Everything goes through her first and if she can make money by creating unnecessary blood work to generate an office visit, she will. If you attempt to set up an appointment with Dr. Sharma, she will block that. I told her it was my right whether I wanted to do the blood work and she told me I had no rights and if I didn't do what she said, she would drop me as a patient. God help us!!!!! read more

Very poor service. Been my physician for almost a year. Never seen her face. She's totally using NP to treat patients. There's only lab work and results over the phone. Exorbitant charges. Office staff lack the appropriate skills. They set up appts. through email only. They didn't let patients choose their preferred day and time. The message includes threatening notes of extra fee for violating their conditions set forth. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE A SECOND THOUGHT ABOUT THIS PHYSICIAN read more

I paid a bill over 6 months ago that they have confirmed is paid yet they still sent collections after me. Every time I call to speak to billing they send me to a voicemail & no one ever gets back to me. Plus they will also send you random bills from 2-3 years ago. So now I have a credit hit for something that's paid due to their incompetence. Avoid at all costs! read more

Unfortunately, the Nurse Practitioner for Amita Sharma is unable to simply refill prescriptions for a 71 year old with end stage renal disease. The new patient already had medications ready for refill, but Amberlee Montarella NP in not competent to simply refill several existing medications. She got her feelings hurt when asked to do her job efficiently so she disconnected phone call and later dropped the patient without any having concern to help or to give Primary Care Support or continue the ongoing prescriptions for life saving medications. Very Disappointing! Uncaring staff at this office. Adios! read more

Dr Sharma is great and very assertive about one's health. However, there could be some improvement amongst her staff.

I was billed for a service I don't even remember going to from 3 years ago (not sure I actually had a visit). The automated emails said they would send it to collections if I did not pay it. I called the billing office and left a voicemail but was never called back. read more

DO NOT go to Dr. Sharma. This doctor's practice seems to be most concerned with what they can bill the insurance (or patient) for and are less concerned with actual patient care. My family member sought out Dr. Sharma as a primary care physician in December 2022 when my family member's previous physician retired. A call was placed to the office to confirm Dr. Sharma was accepting new patients. Once it was confirmed that Dr. Sharma was accepting new patients, my family member requested a wellness visit to start the relationship with Dr. Sharma. My family member was asked to fill out some preliminary paperwork and submit it online to start the process. After the paperwork was submitted, the office called my family member to review the paperwork. The insurance was billed $500 for that phone call. At no time was my family member made aware this was a billable appointment. When my family member tried to resolve this with the office, the response was "Why would you think you wouldn't be charged?". So, basically, my family member incurred a medical bill because they answered the phone and responded to the questions that the office asked. (Note: the insurance did not cover the bill as the code used was not related to an annual wellness visit and the annual deductible had not yet been met) At the same time as the "review the paperwork" phone call, the office said we want to do some bloodwork prior to you meeting with the doctor. When my family member inquired if the doctor visit should happen first, the response was, "This is the way we do it". So, orders for bloodwork were emailed and bloodwork was completed. That was followed by a video appointment with a nurse practitioner who made some comments and recommendations based only on blood work results. Keep in mind, my family member has not been seen in person. No weight has been taken, no blood pressure. No one has listened to heart or lungs. When my family member inquired, again the response was, "This is the way we do it." This video appointment resulted in another $500 bill to the insurance. So far the office has billed the insurance for $1,000 and no one has physically been in the same space as my family member and that will not happen until April. And, as they medical used when the insurance was billed were not consistent with a "wellness visit" or "preventive care" the insurance is not covering the visits. When the office was made aware of this, they said there's no such thing as a code for a 'wellness visit' or "preventive care". Hence my reasoning for believing this practice is interested in what they can bill for and how many things they can bill for rather than focusing on patient care. Again, DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR! read more

My former doctor retired and was replaced by Doctor Amita Sharma. I was so disappointed with her and her medical staff. Her medical staff does'nt meet the high standard of medical profession in a world of medical provider. The doctor when having a doctors phone appointment to the patient, either she is late or never call at all without follow up. On my experience with her, she lacks apathy and understanding how patients are in need during her professional assistance. I also witness that one of her staff was verbally abusive in the phone while on line and the doctor allows this . I have no choice but to find other doctor coz I wont trust my health with her. read more

I finally got to see Dr. Sharma today for the first time after 5 months waiting. While she was pleasant, she was extremely direct, and considering this was my first ever visit, I felt underwhelmed by the lack of empathy that was forthcoming. I would suggest that her office staff should be much more coordinated, as the lack of interest was pretty obvious. Overall, I felt short changed with the whole experience. if the practice is willing to accept you ( or your insurance premium) then I would hope for a better experience. I hope I don't have to wait 5 months the next time I need an appointment. read more

I've been going to Dr. Amita Sharma for 15 years. Dr. Sharma is a very good doctor, but her staff, especially Amberlee Montarella, is the worst person to talk to. Do not see Dr.Sharma, after months of having an appointment at 12pm, the day before appointment got 2 calls, one to confirm the 12pm appointment and the next one right after saying the appointment has been moved to 5:30pm. Why? Because someone else who didn't have medical wanted the 12pm time slot... so good to know because you have medical they just think they can treat you like a second class citizen. Then after being in the exam room the doctor shows up 20 min late and is immediately rushing the appointment, she does a papsmear test and then afterwards asks if there's any concerns you have and then when you say you have concerns she proceeds to tell you you can only address them if its quick. Extremely unprofessional! She then is extremely rude and dismissive and tells you to "make it easy on her". Later on all papsmear results say cancelled and was told the test was never ordered. So she just did the papsmear and then never sends it in for testing??? Doctor does NOT care about her patients and only cares about making a quick buck, she should not have her license, probably doesn't even know how to diagnose herself if she was sick... read more

Don't do it. Made the appt a month ahead, it was supposed to be a first time physical, got 2 confirmation calls because after they confirmed the time I scheduled they insisted on moving me 5 hours later, why? Because someone who didn't have medi-cal wanted my appt slot. I sat in the room waiting for 20 min before being seen, she wouldn't hear my concerns because she was rushed. She told me she had been in there for an hour, when I tried to rebut she told me she wouldn't have this argument with me. At the end of the appt she was by the door before I got up from my physical exam and asked if she could go to her next patient, I said "I guess I don't have a choice" since she had already told me she couldn't hear my list of concerns unless they were "quick." She then asked, "can you just make this easy for me?" They rushed me out of the room and then when I received my papsmear results, it said "CANCELED" all the way down. When I emailed to ask for an explanation, I was told the papsmear was never even ordered. I seem to remember being part of the procedure? So I called and they said they don't know why I was told my results were cancelled because she had them in front of her but they aren't allowed to discuss that with me and I have to wait for an appt to find out. Don't waste your time with this place. As soon as I get my results I'm finding a new provider. read more

The office (apparently following the orders of Amita Sharma) repeatedly scheduled my mom appointments without our knowledge, and appointments that she didn't need nor want; and if she didn't show up she would be charged a $25 no-show fee. She would get emails letting her know that an appointment has been made with a specific date and time, usually on days I work and couldn't take her. My mom has dementia and can't drive herself. After each one of these emails I called the office to ask them to please stop scheduling appointments on my mom's behalf, and to wait until we reach out and need an appointment. Each time they said it would not happen again. Regardless I proceeded to get about six different emails throughout the year scheduling her an appointment that was not asked for. I finally lost my temper on the office manager, Sivesh Pradhaan, and called their practice sleazy. He responded by screaming his head off at me, telling me I had one brain cell and calling me stupid and telling me to shut up. Not gonna lie, I cussed him out because I was so enraged and disgusted by him. Definitely not a proud moment on my part. However, it appears from the comments that I am not the only one experiencing problems with these people. Steer clear of this place, they are useless as well as dangerous, as they don't care about their patients health whatsoever. Their only concern is billing the insurance company for money any chance they get. read more
