We used to go here as a treat and we visit the bakery but the last 2 times have been horrible. The chicken looked like it had been sitting out and was so dry. The sausage was extremely dry as well. The corn had absolutely to flavor. For the price they charge with the small selection everything should be phenomenal but it's the opposite. We will unfortunately not be dining there but will continue to visit the bakery. read more

I've tried 2 other Ohio Amish buffets multiple times and this was my second time here. My sister and I both agree, the food here is the best. They have most of the usual offerings but also serve bbq beef and ribs here. The ribs are tender and delicious. We also think their homemade rolls are really good here along with their peanut butter spread. The restaurant is pretty big and both times that I came for lunch, there was not a huge line out the door. There is a nice bakery attached to this restaurant where you can purchase a pack of those rolls and a bunch of other baked goodies. Service was good and there was plenty of parking. read more

We came here this evening. We had been to visit in the past, and the food was good. This time, they had a special on the buffet. It was supposed to be fried chicken, roast beef and stuff that had been on the buffet all afternoon. They were out of roast beef and the chicken was rubbery. This is our last time eating here. My husband and I stopped to have lunch here today, Thursday, Aug 7, 2025. We were pretty disappointed. We both had the buffet and neither of us were impressed. The dinner rolls are very good, however the rest of the buffet food wasn't very desirable. Restaurant was big and clean. We were surprised to see a self service salad bar , but they did have hand sanitizer and disposable gloves for people to use. The food overall was good. The burger came with fresh cut fries and my salad was HUGE . I would have preferred it was served on a plate vs a deep bowl as it was a little hard to eat until I worked my way down . Me and my mom came here while outlines country for our annual fall trip. The staff was kind and helpful making sure we had everything we needed. The restaurant is large and open allowing for lots of seating without feeling too crowded and it was a nice place to sit and eat. We both got the buffet as we often do with restaurants like this. This buffet had some items we don't usually see on Amish buffets like fried shrimp. My mom also said their salad bar is the best she's seen out here whit a lot of choices. I thought the chicken was delicious, bursting with flavor when you take a bite. It's at the level of some of our other favorites in the area and only slightly behind our number one favorite. I thought their form tender roast beef was the best I've had on a buffet in this area and that was a highlight. The noodles were just average for this area (which is to say still pretty good) we would definetly come back again if we find the time. read more

The service was fantastic. The ambiance is nice. The restaurant is clean. The salad bar has many options. The roast beef was dry and somewhat bland. Pork chop was fine, but not out of this world. My baby enjoyed the macaroni and cheese and the mashed potatoes. I remember this being better years ago, and it was not necessarily bad per-se, but not outstanding either. I think there are better choices in Amish country. This property is in a beautiful idyllic setting, and I may try it again, but I would likely venture further past the "door" of Amish country and try a few others first. read more

My fiance and I have eaten here twice, we visit amish country about once a year around the holidays as a little day trip getaway for some shopping. We came for the breakfast buffet, and for the price it wasn't bad. The potatoes were not edible, they were so raw they had a crunch, also the bacon was so thin and had zero flavor it was a waste. BUT, the waffles were thick and delicious, they had apple butter out with biscuits and those were great, the sausage is definitely not cheap/freezer sausage because the taste was out of this world, i have never tried sausage this good especially not on a buffet, and im not a huge pork fan. Our waitress was very attentive, she did get talking to a table next to us and forgot my ketchup, which was no big deal but she felt bad and gave the senior discount off the bill, very nice gesture and things that keep people coming back to a place when service/food wasn't exceptional. Overall i'd recommend the breakfast buffet if your in the area, theres something for everyone, fruit, yogurt, pancakes, french toast, waffles, ham, bacon, sausage, potatoes, eggs, hash, biscuits/gravy etc. give it a try! read more

Great food. Literally the BEST chicken I've ever had: fall off the bone tender and the breading was tasty! The mashed potatoes were top 5 potatoes I've ever had in a restaurant. Sliders and roast beef sandwich my family had were good as well. A huge plus is the bakery right next door! Our only concern is seeing all the added stuff in the bakery ingredients list. If they're home made, why do they have things you usually find in store bought bakery items. Still, everything was yummy! read more

Also- there are 2 buffets, one little salad bar that's $11.99 and a hot bar that's $19.99. The mashed potatoes and gravy were good, as well as the fried chicken. Good home cooking! Nothing fancy but filling food. The buffet price of $15.99 was a bit high. Two kinds of chicken, roast beef, breaded fish, Mac & cheese, green beans and corn o the cob, noodles and gravy plus a salad bar! With a few desserts. Guess the $15.99 doesn't sound so bad after all! One small thing though, upon leaving I noticed a sign saying 10% discount for seniors on Monday. We were there on Monday and don't believe we were given it ! We are obviously seniors! If you are in the mood for sub-par cafeteria food in a pastoral setting, Amish Door is the place or you. I've been coming to Amish Door with family since I was around ten. My mom and I have continued to visit into adulthood, sometimes several times a month. We'd enjoy the scenic drive to Wilmont and enjoy a leisurely lunch and up until very recently, one could count on consistency in the quality of the food they offered. Last time we visited, many items on the buffet were "off"; the mashed potatoes were soupy, breading falling of the very dry chicken, the "Amish Pudding" clearly made with cheaper ingredients. Mom was disappointed there were no longer noodles being offered. Sure, it's just noodles, but when you've had noodles on your buffet for 30+ years, people kind of expect them. My first, and only trip to the buffet, I selected a chicken breast, a helping of mashed potatoes, and a taste of the pudding. What I sampled there was enough to let me know I wasn't interested in any more. My mother felt the same after her choices from the cold salad bar and piece of chicken. When asked how everything was, I commented to a waitress the food seemed "off". She mentioned speaking the the new manager and pointed her out. I approached the manager as advised and discreetly said the same thing, that the food seemed "off". Which caused her to immediately begin scowling at me while she sourly responded, "You're the only one who thinks so!" I wasn't interested in a dour discussion adjacent to the buffet, and went back to my table. The super attentive waitress comes over to ask if we need anything. At this point, all we want to do is go on to something better. The next thing we know, the unprofessional manager is at our table saying she's going to help us out and only charge us for the cold buffet. Which honestly is a bit of a screw you when it's only a dollar or so less than the hot buffet, and we didn't eat anything past a fork full of our choices. I'm sad to say, it's the end of an era. This place was cool. It's in the heart of Ohio Amish/Mennonite country. The Amish Door doesn't seem to be exploiting that and has Mennonite women working in the bakery. The food was very good and well priced. The breakfast buffet was only $8.50. The baked goods we got didn't disappoint! The breads were super soft and delicious. Oh, I almost forgot...this is probably the best restaurant coffee I've ever had. Man, it was good. There were only two servers working the whole place and the younger girl seemed to be hefting most of the load. I can't give this place 5 stars due to the stares and upturned snoots we got from staff. We are a young-ish, tattooed military couple. We are very soft spoken, smiley, and polite to staff and didn't feel we deserved the backwoods treatment we got from a place that is trying to so hard to draw the touristy crowds. I'm surprised this place has so little reviews. We came during a weekday afternoon to eat lunch at this establishment. This is a restaurant/inn. This establishment can seat over 200 people. They have a separate room that you can reserve for meetings or whatever else you need it for. Food. The reason why we came here. They have a sit down and you order from a menu or buffet style. We chose the buffet style. I'll say one thing, the Amish can definitely cook some delicious food. I took the mashed potatoes with gravy, ham, slow cooked pulled pork and some fried chicken. It was all good. I give the food a 5 star rating. It seems it's a bit outdated inside, the table covers could have been replaced with something more updated modern look. It pains me to make this disappointing review and it's not against the staff the staff there is absolutely wonderful. The prices and the food were so much better before covid. I used to come there all the time before the virus ..then the last time I was there was in April for our anniversary. it was just my husband and I and it was good. they had big Easter special and different foods out and it was OK. But today I took my family for a pre Christmas buffet because I like to do something different for them each year. They call it the grand buffet and I don't know what is so grand about it. there isn't that much on the buffet. Expect to pay 19.99 a person now for all you can eat. The chicken was very dry the shrimp was dry to the point you could break it apart. I think this stringy stuff was supposed to be ham? There was 2 desserts. they used to have all kinds of pudding and everything up there.. their chocolate pudding was the best now it's some kind of like I'll say banana pudding? It's like an inch of pudding with 3/4 covered in whip cream it's like they try to be as cheap as possible with their dessert so they're made out of Whip cream the other dessert? Was whip cream with crumbled oreo cookies so I guess they were trying to make a cookies and cream and I'm sorry this is TMI but I have been belching it all the way home. This used to be our go to place we've been there many times because the chicken used to be so thick and juicy and now I think it went on a hunger strike. We definitely will not be back until something changes for the better. The sign coming in was confusing because we expected this grand buffet for $20. And it just said pie right next to ad... my husband thought it meant it came with pie. I really should have taken a picture of the sign but at this point it was just completely disappointing . I can't believe if I wanted a hamburger it's $14. I completely understand the economy prices are up but the quality of food was not worth the price.
