Food is OK at best looks and taste like it came straight out of the microwave. Salsa tastes like straight tomato paste and came out of a tin can (definitely not homemade). Service is horrible (and no it was not busy and more than enough staff moving at a snails pace). So glad we ordered the $8 lunch definitely would have been really disappointed if I had paid more! Amigos is a standard Tex-Mex restaurant. The quality of food is just fine, but it doesn't veer far from what you will find from other Tex-Mex restaurants in Northwest Arkansas, and I don't think it's the best Mexican food restaurant in Eureka Springs. That said, the downtown location is nice, my waiter was friendly and I received my food quickly even though there was a decent-sized crowd at the restaurant. Prices were fair. If you want to grab a bite to eat or a margarita in downtown Eureka Springs, Amigos is a perfectly fine stop, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go there. read more

I went here early Saturday evening for dinner. The wait staff was friendly and we were seated almost immediately, which is why I gave a two star rating.However, this was some of the worst Mexican food I've ever had. The chips and salsa were fine, but my main meal wasn't. I ordered the Taco Dinner Deluxe, which consisted of 3 ground beef crunchy tacos, refried beans, and rice. The beans and rice had absolutely ZERO flavor. I had to add a bunch of salt to them to make them edible and I hardly ever salt my food like that because I try to be careful about my salt intake, but this was so bland I had no choice. My tacos were not good at all and that is coming from someone who is not a picky eater. The meat had a very odd taste to it and was also extremely bland as well. I took two bites of it and couldn't eat the rest. I told the waiter he could take my plate because I didn't like the tacos and that the meat tasted weird. He looked a little annoyed and said "ok" and took the plate. I was surprised to find that even after the comment I made and the fact that I only ate about 15% of my meal, he didn't offer to give me something else, and didn't take the tacos off my bill or even comp me for 50% of it. I guess Amigos is ok with their customers leaving without being satisfied with their meal. I definitely won't be coming back here. read more

This food at this place is absolutely delicious. Everything was super fresh. I definitely want to point out that the guacamole was fantastic. I had the best frozen marg as well and they have so many different flavors to choose from. The only thing that was threw me off about this place is that they seemed low staffed. I'm a waitress and spend a lot of time checking on my tables but I could never find my waiter. He seemed like he had too many tables and was overwhelmed. read more

Very disappointed. Eureka Springs was very busy because of a local event but when we walking into Amigos, we were pleasantly surprised. They had open tables......however, we first waited at the hostess stand for several minutes before being greeted. We were put on a wait list(even with open tables). While we waited, we sat at the bar for more then ten minutes without being served. Staff would not make eye contact with us. I questioned wait staff if they were short staffed because someone called in and he said "No, we just were not prepared for this weekend". Others at the bar said that had been very hard to get anyone to serve them. We did not stay long enough to know how the food was. I can imagine that if the service is poor, how good can the food be. At the end of our day in Eureka Springs we were looking for a place to eat and watch the Final Four games. We ended up at Amigos after walking down the street. This was a great spot to watch the games with tons of tv's, the service was quick and friendly, and the food was reasonably priced. I took off a star for the quality of food. I just wasn't impressed, I felt like the food was pretty generic and bland. If a person was looking for a good place to watch sports I think this is a great place, but if you're a foodie this probably isn't the best restaurant to eat at in Eureka Springs. read more

Amigos was alright. This would be great for families with kids, or people who enjoy American-Mexican food that don't want a lot of flavor. Overall we enjoyed our experience but there are some minor things that could've made it so much better. The queso we ordered came out lukewarm, which was a bit of an unpleasant shock. The flavor and texture was good but it seemed like it may have been made with cornstarch or something, didn't seem like 100% cheese. The fajitas we ordered (steak) were completely unseasoned. It would be so easy to flavor it... but it didn't even have salt and pepper on them. Perhaps they do this to be safe? In case people don't like seasoned fajitas? The sopa-pillas we ordered were pretty dry. Sat outside, and felt kind of ignored. Weren't in a huge hurry or anything but def waited longer than we should have. We'd been walking and were very thirsty, probably took 20 minutes for water to appear. On the plus side: the salsa was pretty good. read more

We tried Amigos for all of good the Texan reviews. We are from Dallas and very spoiled with our Tex-Mex. we were unimpressed with the salsa and "cheese dip" aka queso. The Tres Amigos enchiladas, while under seasoned were adequate. I've always been nervous to try Mexican food East of Texas and considering this place is among the furthest East, it is better than expected. With that being said, a 3 star review is far more generous than if this place were located in Texas. This is my first Tex-Mex experience in Eureka Springs so I can't speak on how this place ranks amongst other local Tex-Mex spots. If we decide to try Tex-Mex again in Eureka Springs it will be another place. read more

Visited Amigos an hour before their closing time. Waitress was extremely friendly, but had too much going on. She was all over the place trying to keep up with a bunch of customers. Food was really good. I had beef enchiladas and a beef taco, rice and beans. My wife had cheese enchiladas with beef taco and rice. Salsa was outstanding but chips were dripping with grease. Overall, a very good place to eat supper. I will definitely go back if a return trip to Eureka Springs happens. read more

Very good Mexican food at very reasonable prices in downtown Eureka Springs. Their large outdoor deck is a great place to dine. Take or wear mosquito repellant if you are going to be outside at dusk. Their drinks are large and delicious. We loved the swirled frozen margaritas! We have eaten there twice and had great experiences each time. We will return soon. read more

Based on the positive nature of other reviews, I'm going to assume that our experience was incredibly rare. None of the four people in our group could finish anything made with beef. It actually tasted like it was cooked on an old abandoned grill you'd find in a public park. Very metallic with an aftertaste that wouldn't quit. I'm on a relatively strict fitness diet, but had to stop at a fudge shop afterward to get the taste of nasty meat out of my soul! All other ingredients seemed to be great, but for whatever reason on this day...it was unbearable. We actually watched the faces of others and no one else seemed to have the same reaction...it surely must have just been our food. We'll give it another chance someday...second chances are graceful. read more

I have to admit that as a Texan I was skeptical that we could find decent Tex Mex food in Arkansas, but I was wrong. From the chips and salsa they brought to the table right away to the taco/enchilada plate I had to the quesadillas my daughter had, it was all darn good. I've never been to a more terrible restaurant. Out of our group of six, three of us got food poisoning. We had the tacos de camaron, chicken quesadilla, and tamales. The service was just as bad. Our waitress took twenty minutes to get our drink order, and twenty more for food. The restaurant wasn't even busy. She scoffed at us when one of our people said he was allergic to cilantro, and when someone needed a fork, she came out with ten forks and spoons for this one person. Strolling around Eureka, we picked Amigos on a whim. Nice evening so we sat outside. Our waitperson was friendly and attentive; and answered all of our questions with patience. Watched a few Harleys rumble down the street. The chips were crisp and warm; and the salsa had a nice kick to it. Enchiladas and the nightly shrimp offering were stellar. We both had two very good margaritas and had to walk them off when we were through. Nice place to mellow out and kick back. Hope they are still there on our next visit to Eureka Springs. Group of family and friends met up in Eureka Springs, I think we had about 5 adults and 3 or 4 kids. Weather was nice so we sat out on the patio and were able to be seated right away. Waitress took our drink orders and they brought out chips & salsa. We got a couple bowls of queso, which I think might have been a white-cheese, it was different but good. Everyone ordered different things, and it was all good.... Nothing spectacular, but very solid quality. I would definitely eat there again. Sometimes our waitress would disappear for a while and with little kids sometimes when you need something you need it right away! LOL... But overall it was a pleasant time, we got to visit, and the weather managed not to rain. The only downer was even though we had little kids with us, and there was another family out there with little kids too.... One person (not with either party) decided they wanted to light up and smoke right in the middle of everyone... ugh... Not the restaurant's fault though. read more

My mom and I had been in search of a place to eat lunch this past Sunday. When we walked in, this place only had 1-2 other tables filled. We were a bit leery that the food may not be good. To our surprise, the food was pretty decent. The staff was very friendly. Being from Texas, you typically do not venture into Mexican restaurants in other states. However, the fajitas here were pretty good. Everything tasted fresh. The only complaint would be is that they didn't make their own tortillas. They were store bought tortillas. I think if they would make their own, it would really set them apart. The salsa was a bit weak for our liking. It seemed watered down. Once you got to the tomatoes and onions in the salsa, it had pretty good flavor. This place is on the verge of being a really good Mexican food place. Just a few tweak and I know they could knock it out of the park. read more
