I went with a friend to try Amici and it was a beautiful spot. The food was a 4/5 reasonable prices and they had good portions. -1 star for no bread or Parmesan. Best of the best! The ambiance is romantic. The food is outstanding. The staff is exceptional. We ordered pizza (everything is house made including the pizza dough and fresh mozzarella), lasagna, homemade ravioli . Every dish is a 5 starts!! For dessert we ate the Tiramisu and "The Vesuvius" - their signature dessert. MAMMAMIA! SOOO GOOD! Probably, the best food and service we had in the Berkshires. Highly Recommend! I hate myself for doing this but my experience at this restaurant was awful. The calamari were chewy and greasy. I come from where the ossobuco is a traditional dish, this was not even close. It was a stew with some undercooked shank obviously microwaved floating in too much liquid. The recommended tiramisù was OK, if I was in a better mood I would have called better than OK. Then, to top all that, the grappa I was looking forward to was served in a slush of watery crushed ice ! They won't see me again. read more

Ravioli and pizza are the fortes here, but everything is pretty darned good: drinks well made; bottle of water and triangles of dough with olive oil dip at every table. I had the special shrimp and crab ravioli -select your preferred sauce; I chose the alfredo. The dish was to-die-for delicious. My comrades had the eggplant (with choice of pasta or salad) and the harvest salad. Every morsel on every plate was deliciously devoured. Husband and I finally made it out for a kid free night to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had made a reservation, and stood waiting to be seated for 10 min. While entire dinning room of teenagers in booty shorts, ignored us without even greeting us. 4 people walked by us without even a hello or a well be right with you. When we finally got seated, no one talked to us for another 20, no drink order, no we'll be right over, nothing. The ONE kid they had working the patio finally came over and we told him we had been waiting in total 30 min with no acknowledgment from anyone. And on our 1 kid free night we were all set with the lack of service. They were not busy at all so the lack of service or even acknowledgment of existence was absolutely an embarrassment on their part. They will not survive long is this is the product they are selling. We were in search of a restaurant just off the highway to meet friends. We also needed gluten-free options, vegetarian options, and a dog-friendly establishment. Our group can be somewhat tough customers considering all our requirements. After reviewing Amici's listing it seemed to check all those boxes. I communicated with Evan through email, who was very friendly and informative in communications. His quick responses to my emails confirmed that I had chosen the right place. Once we arrived we were brought to our table which was already set and ready for our group. The menu was varied enough that we all had something terrific to eat. I was delighted to have the chicken parmesan platter made with gluten-free breaded chicken. Others ordered the Amici sandwich, pasta, eggplant parmesan sandwich, and an omelet. Everything was fresh and the portion size was just right. Again, a shoutout to Evan for his professional manner and kindness for doing a great job of managing our group (his coworkers were equally pleasant). A find in the Berkshires! Warm, friendly service and excellent light Italian cooking

Our family party of 12 enjoyed a nice meal at Amici. It was on a Sunday the week after Tanglewood ended so it was easy for them to accommodate such a large crowd. The service was great. The young staff was attentive and helpful. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I'd say the food was good. Not exceptional but good. The Ribollita vegetable and Wedding soups seemed to be based on the same broth. Both seemed a little under seasoned. The Ossobuco was good but, like the soup , the broth was a bit thin and under seasoned. It was a bit of a surprise the chicken was a thick breast and not a cutlet but the Chicken Parm was enjoyed. The Bolognese was a hit with those that got it. The Tartufo was a nice ending. The Vesuvius was shared by a couple folks and they loved it. I like my coffee strong but the coffee was exceptionally strong. We had a great time at Amici. It's a bit pricey so it's not a value. The metal chairs are not the most comfortable. You'd expect more comfortable chairs for the price of the meals. Overall Amici was a good experience. read more

This sweet stop is a charming space (both inside and out) easily seen from the road but secluded from the traffic. The service was prompt, friendly, and beautifully cooperative. It was wonderful to hear the staff have kind words for both guests and one another. The food was the best Italian we have had in a while. Specials of gazpacho and shrimp & squid ink pasta were delicious and filling. And the zucchini basket and tiramisu didn't disappoint either! Oh, the bread and the sauce. Just that alone is a meal. Outdoor deck is nice, service was good, food was just ok. I liked the salad: it was fresh, had the right amount of dressing (I don't like salads drenched in dressing), and the dressing tasted house-made. I tried calling to make a reservation was told they do not take reservations for any size group. It was only the two of us. When we arrived we were told we could sit by the bar which we did. We were seated in about 20 minutes. It was a nice table by the outdoor porch. It took forever to get a glass of water and to place our order. I received my ravioli dish and my husband didn't get his pizza until about 10 minutes later! We ordered a pizza, fried zucchini for an app, which was huge but greasy. The atmosphere is a warm and friendly. You can eat outside or inside and we chose inside. Our table was in a quaint little room off the main dining room which was super cute. Our waitress came right over and took drink orders which was nice. More variety for drinks would be useful though. We ordered truffle fries to start and they were absolutely delicious! We devoured them. I ordered gluten free pasta with tomato sauce and GF breaded chicken. I wanted to like it but it was not good at all. The chicken was very very dry and sauce was salty but bland. Sorry. My husband had chicken parmesan over pasta and his chicken was also over cooked. We were surprised at how small the portions were and there was nothing else with the meal...no bread or salad. That was a bummer. Also as an Italian restaurant I would have thought they would offer fresh parmesan.
