They asked me to send photos of what I had in mind, I received an estimate, and then we got a date set up. Kyle is very nice and did a great job installing some shelves and fixtures for a "cat wall", basically a cat jungle gym. The price was actually less than what I was quoted and he used better fixtures than what the product came with. Overall, I'm super happy with the service and quality of work I received.

Disappointing experience overall…read more Verbal bid was given of 10k to 11k for the job over a FaceTime phone call as the project was explained. I politely asked if he could please try to keep it near the 10k. Written bid came in over 11k. (11,700$) Discussed that the bracing for the large metal stairs should probably be secured by something more than anchoring into stucco. To add proper supports the bid goes up again to over 12k. (12,800$) I would have liked a more professional experience where pricing didn't keep changing and for Christian to take the lead on making the stairs braced correctly and safely from jump. He kept saying this is simple we don't need to discuss the job so much. Also I had originally texted him to FaceTime me when he was onsite. He was on time but didn't respond to my texts. Had to wait 20 minutes for a response. He already left the job. Had to drive back to the job to be able to Facetime me. It is a large job that involves a lot of safety concerns. Was really looking for more professionalism to have the job bid correctly from the beginning and the scope of the job to be discussed throughly on time to get it created safely.

I found NorthBay Handyman and Hauling via yelp for several issues I had with my home which included replacing a flush mount ceiling light in my kitchen to an LED fixture, hanging items to my drywall, and replacing our door knob that eluded my husband. Matt kindly reviewed the light I was looking into purchasing and told me it worked ahead of time so I was able to purchase it from Home Depot. Matt communicated his ETA ahead of time and followed instructions clearly. He is friendly, patient, and extremely skilled. His rates are extremely affordable and fair. I wish I reached out to him sooner. My condo feels a lot more like a home now and I appreciate his time and expertise in fitting me in this week. They accept cash, card, check, and Venmo too to make transactions smooth. I absolutely will be hiring NorthBay Handyman and Hauling in the future and recommending Matt to my family and friends.
