A professional welding shop did this.

If you are serious about getting something welded, don't stop here. I dropped off a 1965 Nova fuel tank to have a sump welded to the bottom. This was a brand new fuel tank and brand new sump. They had the parts for 7 business days and when I went to pick up the part, I was in disbelief. Look at the pictures. It looked as if a person with zero welding experience did this. Actually, it looked more like a backyard welding job. Jim looked at it and said, "Yeah, it's not pretty, but I didn't do it." If this "Jim" is Jim Webb, the owner, what a poor excuse of an owner. How could you let a crappy weld job leave your building when your reputation is riding on it. Jim said he can clean it up for me, but when I told him I came all the way from Sacramento, he had nothing to say. I told him that they had the project for over a week, he said, "Yeah, I know. You dropped it off on a Friday when I wasn't here." To make it even worse, I told him that I wanted it TIG welded. He turned to the other guy in the shop, the one who took my stuff when I dropped it off, and asked him if this was supposed to be TIG and he said he knew nothing about it. No integrity. Finally, the best part yet. I asked Jim how much was this going to cost me. He looked at the invoice and said $100. I said, "$100?" Jim said that the quote was between $150-200. I told him it was because it was supposed to be TIG welded. He said, "I know." Well, if you knew and it wasn't what the customer wanted, then why would you not fix the problem? I wasn't there to have a favor done for free. I was a paying customer. This place does not take any pride in their work. Look at the pictures and tell me if you were the owner of a welding shop, would you let this project leave your shop? The fact that he did, the fact that he didn't stop what he was doing to fix it, the fact that he didn't take ownership of the project regardless if he welded it or not, all these facts combined is a revelation that maybe you shouldn't be in business.

Took my harley exhaust there to have the baffle rebuilt. told the guy exactly what needed to be done and why he said he could do it.... came to pick it up and it looked like he just shoved a bunch of metal in there and welded it in the guy did the total opposite from what I asked him to do then tryed charging me 180 bucks I'm like screw u this is not what I asked for must have been on dope or something we settled for 100 and I walked out pissed I will never go back or Recommend that shit hole to anyone.

I first used Martin's Metal Fab company around 2021 with a simple aluminum-to-aluminum welding job…read morethat I was really happy with. Expensive, but they did a good job. Next time around, in September 2025, they basically failed to get the job done. I came in with a ham radio antenna which required two copper-to-copper welds and two copper-to-aluminum welds. The relatively easy copper-to-copper welds were done OK, but two attempts to do the copper-to-aluminum welds failed when the copper wires pulled out of the welds. When I went to pick up the antenna after the third try, the welds appeared to be OK, and I paid the requested $460. Took the antenna home, where the copper wires again pulled out of the welds. I called in to protest, saying the antenna was still unusable. $460 for a failed job. The young man I talked to who coordinated the job would only say, "That's the way the cookie crumbles." So I wrote letters to two of the company's owners (in the Martin family) complaining about paying for a failed job. I never heard anything back. I expected at least a partial refund. Sure the job was unique and challenging, but they accepted the job with my understanding that they could accomplish it. Now, they have lost a customer and I'm out $460. Customer satisfaction: zero.
