Came here around 7pm for ice cream. There was no crowd at all. I purchased lemon cheesecake ice cream and Cookie Monster. Both were on the less sweeter side which was great. Cookie Monster had a smooth texture whereas lemon cheesecake was rough although the taste was good.

The couple who runs this shop is always eager to serve their customers with both quality service and large scoops of their unique ice cream . With great coffee and ice cream flavors including "Mississippi Mud", "After Dinner Mint", "Cookie Monster", and "Pirate's Bounty", Amethyst offers its visitors delight and refreshment from the heat. Their strawberry ice cream is the best I've ever had! As Amethyst Creamery is my personal favorite ice cream shop in the Tri Cities, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

My toddler is dairy free and quite picky on flavors/textures but he has enjoyed the selections of ice cream from here every time! He enjoys coming in and chatting with the owner (his favorite game recently is "Ice Cream Shop") and always leaves with a cheesing smile. Fair prices and large scoops. Found this place online prior to visiting the city. Husband has a dairy, gluten, and soy allergy so finding sweets is hard. They had about 8-9 DF flavors. I was a fan of the DF huckleberry but he liked the DF raspberry chocolate chip. I got the dairy elephant tracks, choc ice cream with pb pieces and the Cookie Monster. My only complaint is 2 other people at my table also got the Cookie Monster and they actually had cookie dough pieces in there's while mine did not. My husband even noticed how mine looked different from theirs. If and when I visit again I will probably be back. read more

This is such a charming little shop! The ice cream is reasonably priced, and tastes so yummy. Plus there are dairy free options which is very inclusive for the lactose intolerant. Our family loves Amethyst Creamery!! Our girls love looking at all the rocks and love bringing their money to buy a new treasure. We appreciate that they're affordable for them and that they get to feel grown up getting something fun. The ice cream is delicious. And SO MANY dairy free flavors! best selection in town. Super rich and creamy. We always leave satisfied. We enjoy getting our scoops and going for a walk along the river. Wonderful selection of flavors in general. My husband doesn't need dairy free and he's always happy with the ice cream. The owner is delightful and we enjoy visiting with him. He uses eco friendly bowels and spoons. Their ice cream is awesome! I tried Pirates Bounty, Cookie Monster and Jamocha Joe. All of them were awesome! I also had a Affogato (1 ice cream scoop and 2 Espresso shots) and it was amazing! They order their ice cream from Wisconsin! Which is impressive but, and this is a big but, their ice cream has artificial colors! Why ship ice cream from across the country if it's not even made with natural, wholesome ingredients? The taste is ok, I expected something more higher quality based on the reviews.
