Upon arrival you will see (and smell) the place is older. We booked our jacuzzi room and on the office and on our way down the hall to our room we noticed the "NO PETS allowed sign" while listening to a dog barking in one of the rooms. When we got into our room we first noticed the hole in the bathroom door about fist height and size. You will also notice small circle felt pads stuck to the mirror. (Both in photos). Neither were as concerning as the dried urine all over the toilet seat. We called the front office right away and no one answered so we then walked back down there and someone did come down right away and clean it off and apologized. Some shelves and a rolling desk chair have been update but the old carpet remains. I included a video of the wobbly, leaking jacuzzi tub faucet, (which is why we booked the room remember). We had to put towels on the floor to stop the river running down the side of the tub onto the floor. The water smelled of strong chlorine which was a little comforting after the tub filled up and it was not our small hairs floating in the pea green/brownish water. We left and returned after dark and even though the sign on the glass door in front says "this is an Exit only..." we tried to go back in the hotel through the office like how we checked in, but were very sternly told we had to go back outside and go through that door because the door going from the office to the hallway of rooms was locked. This made me question my own safety if the office person felt they needed to have a locked door between them and us? The moral of my stay is: Dont do it. You don't need a jacuzzi tub that bad.

The first day the driver asked one of the passengers (who is from out of town) where we were going, as if the company did not have very detailed itinerary instructions. That night our scheduled departure time from restaurant to hotel was 8pm. At 7:45 the driver entered the restaurant and announced that he was leaving in 5 minutes. After paying the bill and rounding up my colleagues we were outside by 8:00, but he had already left! So in addition to the $2,500 we paid this company to transport us, we then had order multiple ride share services to get us to the hotel. I strongly advise against hiring this company if you need reliable transportation.

We used CoD for our wedding, because our venue was about 20 minutes from the hotel block/city center where most of our guests were and we wanted to make sure people could have an amazing time at our reception without being in danger on the drive home :) I called a few months out and spoke with Gretchen (I think?) who could not have been more lovely and helpful. She helped me figure out exactly the vehicle timing and arrangement I needed to provide shuttle service for our guests before and after the ceremony and reception, as well as for my husband and I to get to our hotel at the end of the night! They truly think of every detail, down to color coordinating the paper napkins in each limo to your event colors and providing my husband and I with complimentary champagne at the end of the evening. She was highly communicative with the follow-ups and additional questions I had leading up to our wedding day, and it took SUCH a load off my mind knowing that someone as detail-oriented and customer service-oriented as Gretchen and her team were working with us. I know our guests (especially the out-of-towners) really appreciated the ease with which they got around that day...and I'm sorry a year late for our silly friends playing "Zombie" by The Cranberries pretty much the whole way back to the hotel at the end of the night lol! But truly the cap on the great experience was our driver after the party was over (whose name escapes me but I think he is actually Gretchen's husband and a co-owner of the company...Aaron, maybe?). This is the gentleman who drove my husband and I back to Des Moines after all our guests had left, and he was so polite and lovely and congratulatory, and offered to drive our belongings to our hotel for us while we went out for a late night bite post-reception! Overall, this company really does go above and beyond, for incredibly reasonable prices, and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

When asked about the ride, we were given two options between an older bus and a newer one. So we chose the newer one. When the driver arrived, before we took off, I asked if we could play Christmas music and the driver told me I could Bluetooth to the stereo which would have been perfect. We could not Bluetooth- the driver did not know how to do it, and couldn't add a device so we listened to the radio Christmas channel and all the ads and commercials. When I came time to look at lights, all of the windows were fogged over. The driver gave us a towel to wipe down our windows but as soon as you would wipe, they were covered in condensation again. There was one towel for all the windows- which after Wiping down the first two large windows, was soaked- and didn't do much for the rest of the windows on the bus. In 2.5 hours we made three stops to look at lights. We love the beaverdale area, but the driver only went down one street instead of both. The rest of the time we were driving the whole time on the interstate or down back roads through neighborhoods that did not have lights. We were very disappointed- we wanted to play fun songs to get the kids excited between stops, and expected more lights/stops. For the money spent (not at all cheap) we all walked away feeling very disappointed and looking for a different way to do this next year. I would never spend the money again with this company for the Christmas Lights Tour.

Luxxor was able to give me a decent price, and the driver Joe was excellent. He was early, had the car nice and pre-heated for me (an important thing to do on a cold Iowa morning!), offered to stop and get me coffee and got me to the airport with plenty of time to spare. The car was clean, well maintained and he had water waiting, as well. I appreciate the easy process to request the quote on line and the ability to accommodate such an early last minute pickup time.
