Ivan is an honest and great technician! My appointment time was 11/19/2014, noon to 2 pm. When Ivan had to handle another emergency, Ameritec office called me around noon to reschedule it evening, 5 - 7 pm. Ivan did show up around 6 pm. It took him some efforts to found the problem, and he fixed it. I'm very happy with his services, and will definitely call him, whenever I have needs. read more

I have had 5 estimates. They're not the lowest. In fact they're exactly in the middle. You can probably find others who will give you a lower estimate, but that is what you will get. This father and son team, goes above and beyond the call of duty and goes deeper even more after that!!! Case in point, I only hired them to replace my A/C and furnace. I came away having my water heater inspected and Sr crawling under my house to make sure my ducts were good. One side of my house was not blowing much air before. Not even 8 hours later, my house is cooler with a new a/c. If another company did all the jobs that they did for me, I would have paid extra. So again, if you want to hunt for the lowest estimate knock your socks off. But if you want more bang for your bucks, there is no other HVAC company I will call in the area but Ivan and his Son. read more

My AC fan motor was failing this past weekend. Ivan Sr got out to my house in Reston late Saturday to do the diagnosis and determine what parts were needed. He personally picked up the parts from Trane, rather than waiting for delivery, and got my AC fixed Monday afternoon. He saved me several uncomfortable days in this sweltering weather. He went out of his way to get me fixed as rapidly as possible, at the lowest possible costs. Highly recommended!!! read more

They were able to isolate the gas leak, obtain the part, and install it rapidly. The technician was knowledgeable and friendly. The only reason that I would not give a five star rating is that we were kept waiting for a very long time, and had to call several times for the status. It turns out that there was a schedule mixup...I would definitely use them again. read more

Called for a furnace checkup and Ivan was great. Very flexible for scheduling, reasonably priced, and very friendly. And most importantly very knowledgeable, thorough and helpful. He got our system running better and I learned a few things about how to maintain it throughout the year. Highly recommend. read more

Ameritech was a perfect decision for my HVAC repairs. Of course it was a 90° day and the AC stopped working. Darius came out and solved the solution very quickly and showed me how to maintain and clean my unit and explained if he or anyone did it, it would cost around $300. I can't believe there are still great people out there that doesn't take advantage of customers. I will always use Ameritech for all of my HVAC needs. read more

I had a very good experience with this company! My boiler heat went out Thursday night, and I found out Friday evening that the issue was a busted copper pipe (thank you polar vortex!), a finicky zone valve, and a need to purge and refill the boiler, consequently. I called a few HVAC places Friday and Saturday; many were unable/unwilling to come out till Tuesday/Wednesday (definitely not on the weekend unless I paid an extra $200), and really didn't care that I didn't have heat in the dead of winter. I called Ameritec and explained the situation and they were willing to come to my house within 2-3 hours to work on my busted pipe and boiler. I am very happy with the service. Ivan was the tech who came out. He was very pleasant and answered my MANY questions with a smile. He was patient and did a great job! I had heat in 2 hours!!! He gave me some good ideas for my basement to reduce the instances of the cracked pipes in future. The fee was very reasonable; I didn't feel ripped off, I wasn't sold anything I didn't need, and I wasn't presented with other problems to be fixed that I did not have. Ivan was honest and upfront with me and I appreciated that. I will definitely recommend him to anyone without hesitation. Five stars! read more

I called and set up an appointment for an estimate with this company, and they never showed up or called me. I went through some amount inconvenience to be there for the appointment, so I was not happy about the no-show. read more

Today I have a deep appreciation for the work of HVAC technicians! Shout out to Ameritec Services for having such knowledgeable and customer service oriented workers who braved the brutal wind and 19 degrees today while de-icing my frozen heat pump. Ivan Jr has to come back on Wednesday but right now it looks like he managed a fix that won't cost me a fortune. Last January Ivan Sr did the same. Two encounters with this company and I will continue to be a customer and recommend them to all my friends and family. read more

I used to use a giant AC service with Sons in the name. Every time we had an issue they were late for the appointment, and ALL WAYS found two or three unrelated other issues that had to be fixed. Ameritec is on time, offers a fair price, for solid work. I highly recommend them. read more

These guys are great! They have repaired my HVAC on my rental unit, installed a new, more efficient unit at my condo and always been prompt with service. Their customer service is fantastic and they work late (past 9pm) to get the job done! Awesome guys and couldn't ask for better results. read more

Our heat pump was struggling and on its last legs. I was impressed with ameritec's positive reviews, so I gave them a call for an estimate on a full system replacement. They came out on my desired day (saturday AM). The estimate was very thorough and I appreciated that Ivan gave us a good description of the job (one that we could actually understand). He also suggested solutions to allow for more uniform heating/cooling for different levels in our townhouse. The free estimate was very fair and there was no pressure from Ivan. During the replacement, the crew came out (on time) and got to work. They were all very professional and worked hard to get the job done correctly and on time - both of which they accomplished! After the job was done, Ivan gave me a walkthrough of the new unit and answered all of my questions. At the end, I couldn't believe how painless the process was. There were no surprises or call-backs. I needed a service and ameritec provided it flawlessly from start to finish! read more

We have a REALLY old heater that runs off heating oil. It is original to the house, making it about 50 years old. I can't remember how we found Ameritec, but they were one of the few companies out there that still works on these old boilers. 2 of the 3 times we have had Ameritec come out, it has been a weekend emergency when it was really cold out. Ivan has always been great about getting back to us within an hour and usually out to service the boiler in less than 24 hours. He even had me text photos once for diagnosis and to make sure he had the correct parts when he came to fix it, making the process smooth and quick. They are really great about helping our ancient boiler stay functional so that we can keep putting off buying another one. read more

This review isn't about the actual service or work Ameritec provided, but rather their availability and reliability. While Ivan was very genuine and sincere on the phone an over email, he was NOT reliable at all. I had emailed Ameritec (Ivan specifically) back and forth about an issue with my HVAC and decided to schedule an appointment on Tuesday morning between 11am and 1pm. However, Ivan was a no call/no show that morning so I called Ameritec back. The operator explained how busy Ivan had been so we rescheduled for later that evening around 6:30pm. Again, Ivan was a no call/no show for the second time. I hesitantly called Ivan and received the same excuse. Ivan told me would be done soon and would come by around 8:30pm. Not surprisingly, Ivan did not call or show up for the third time that night. Finally, I just gave up and called someone else. I get that Ivan may have been really busy and needed to reschedule. But why did he set 3 separate appointments that he couldn't meet? And why did Ivan and Ameritec not call first so I didn't have to wait the entire day?!? read more

I called out Ameritec to inspect my HVAC as I'm preparing to sell my house. The technician walked me through the status of my system, showed me what potential issues I'd have which a home inspector might notice, and showed me how to use the humidifier that I haven't touched in the years since I bought the house. He went above and beyond by also making notes on the humidifier itself, fixing a minor issue (added some vinyl piping for condensation drainage), and told me where/how to get a replacement pad for the humidifier. He was quick and clean. One star was lost as they had to push the service back a day and didn't tell me until I reached out to them to ask when they would be there. Would have lost more on that, but the technician's speed, thoroughness, and explanation were top-notch. read more

We chose Ameritec to install a ductless heating and air system in our 1930's house and could not be happier with our decision. My husband and I had several contractors bid on the job, and we were very impressed with the time Ivan took to go through his approach to the installation and explain the process to us. He was about the fourth contractor that came through, so we thought we had heard it all (it all gets to be pretty much the same at some point), but he raised some points we had not considered and worked with us to make sure that the final layout would not only operate correctly, but would also look neat and professional in our home. My husband is an exacting client and has meticulous attention to detail (real tough cookie) and he was incredibly impressed with Ameritec's professionalism in our home. They covered their shoes to make sure our hardwoods were not damaged, kept their work area as clean as possible, and left our home (interior & exterior) as neat as they found it. I don't give 5 start reviews regularly and these guys are truly top notch. read more

Just plain great customer service and knowledge. Even though I have a home warranty I still call Ameritec because I know they'll provide consistent and reputable service. Been using them since 2013 and will continue to do so. Thanks again Ameritec team! read more

Ivan was great! Fixed my heatpump. He had to come back a second day and didnt even charge me.

Fast, inexpensive, quality work on furnace. Quote was $1,200 less than a competitor.

Had A/C not working issue. Called Friday evening after 7pm, was able to schedule next day Sat. morning appointment. Ivan was on time, able to identify and resolve issue quickly and show me the alternative / workarounds, not persuading me into replacing.. Price was reasonable. Do Recommend. read more

Excellent service. Prompt, reasonably priced. Can't ask for more. Will definitely recommend and call on them in the future. Thanks!!!

I was selling my home and buyers' inspector found some issues on the HVAC. I called Ameritec as they had good reviews. I'd say Ameritec exceeded my expectations on every dimension: customer service, professionalism, price! Ivan Sr inspected my HVAC and found no issues (i didn't tell him that I was selling my property, so his assessment was completely unbiased). Then we had more questions from the buyers' inspector. I called Ivan Sr, and he came on Saturday morning, with no charge! If anyone is trying to find better service than Ameritec, then good luck finding one. Ameritec deserves more than 5 stars, truly. read more

Suddenly realized the house was at 82 and climbing. No cold air coming out. Called the special after-hours number and got a call-back almost immediately from Ivan who said he would stop by after his next call. He was here an hour later (about 6:30 p.m.) and instead of trying to sell us an expensive compressor, found and replaced the much cheaper capacitor. Offered to check the level of our gas...and found it perfect, no need of anything. Pleasant, fast, honest...couldn't ask for anything more. Thank you. read more

I can only echo what others are saying here - Ivan is prompt, courteous, knows HVAC systems well and charges reasonable rates. We've had to call him twice now and both times he's done great work. The first time he came, I was out on a business trip my wife was home. My wife said he was great and did a very thorough job of explaining what the issue with the heat was, and the options for fixing it. The second time, I was home, and he was again able to quickly fix the problem. read more

I have been doing business with Ameritec Services for two years now and the service is top notch. The owner and his son are professional technicians who show up when they say they will be there and give you an informed, detailed explanation of any problems. They saved me a nice chunk of $$ when my furnace motor blew up on the hottest day of the year by giving me options on repairs. I also appreciated how quickly they responded after my initial call. I will not call any other HVAC Service now that I have their number. Kathie W. Springfield, VA read more

We are already convinced that for any HVAC service or repair or replacement, no one can beat Ameritec. And now, our water heater has "died" and winter has been extra cold. We needed to get a new one ASAP. Called Ivan of Ameritec and he came at 8:30 am NEXT DAY and installed a new heater. PERFECTLY and at a great price. My husband and I LOVE Ivan and his team. They are super professional, efficient, HONEST, and always do perfect work. We don't even bother getting cost estimates from other companies. We call Ivan straight away for these types of services because we know he is the best! read more

I found them on Yelp one morning when our heating wasn't working. Called them on a Saturday morning, and Ivan II came a couple hours later, right on time. Quickly diagnosed it (simple cleaning and a bad belt) and fixed it for a fair price. He was very friendly. Bottom line: This is a safe bet. Bottom line #2: It's worth maintaining your system! read more

Excellent! Ivan is a great guy, excellent tech and down-to-earth sales guy. He is very flexible (although extremely busy), and he provides you with the most rational and not the most expensive option. We had him install our new HVAC system and the price he quoted was cheaper than some other offers. The work was done professionally and we are overall very satisfied with our choice. read more

I couldn't be happier with Ameritec. I bought a 1909 rowhouse and the only good air flow was in the kitchen -- I was wasting a ton of energy/money and most of the house was a miserable temperature. Ivan Sr. figured out a great solution really quickly and quoted me a very reasonable price. Ivan and his son finished the job in only a day and a half and did a wonderful job -- better than I had even hoped for. They are also incredibly nice, responsive and professional. read more

I too chose Ameritech based on the positive reviews. I have a rental condo in Falls Church that the AC went out on and in a day Ameritech was able to fit me in. I called 5 other places that couldn't, so this was pretty good. Ivan Jr quickly identified the problem, fixed it, and did a fast/thorough inspection so I could get back to work. My unit has a pretty old heating/ac unit so I was ecstatic he was able to resolve the problem and for a reasonable price. I definitely plan on using them again if *knock on wood* anything happens. read more

Based on the positive reviews, I called to schedule a fix for my balky A/C unit. Ivan II came fixed the problem quickly and competently. He was very personable and professional. Will definitely use them in the future. read more

I've had Ameritec come out a few times to service my HVAC unit. Ivan Sr and his son, Ivan Jr, are amazing. Friendly, helpful, and fair, they walked me through every step of their diagnosis of problems with my unit. They offered helpful hints and tips, and most importantly, they went out of their way to schedule appointments that fit my calendar / schedule. I feel that you rarely get this level of service and honesty these days - I'm a customer for life. read more

Mr. Ivan and the Ameritec team are fantastic and I absolutely recommend them to anyone needing high quality HVAC/heating system repair in Northern Virginia! We've used them several times, most recently when we called with a weekend emergency repair for our tenant-occupied property, and they were kind enough to talk our tenant through the issue and resolve the problem on the phone. In every interaction we've had with Ameritec, they were friendly, courteous, and followed up as promised. Excellent technicians and outstanding customer service! read more

Ivan is the great guy. The service is good and the cost is decent. He seems to be very knowledgeable of what he's doing. Thanks

Ivan has a new client for life. After having a lot of trouble (months of trouble) with a big name HVAC company, I found Ivan on yelp. He came out the next day and did an assessment himself. The following day he sent out a team of very competent young men with very impressive bearing and professionalism. They did great work and the air-conditioning has been working perfectly for two weeks. I couldn't be happier with, and more grateful for, Ivan and his team. I wish I would've gotten smart and gone away from the big guys long before I did. read more

My fiance and I are purchasing a home and during our home inspection, an extremely strong sulphur smell came from the vents when the inspector turned on the AC. We wanted to have an HVAC tech check things out to give us an idea of what the problem might be and if it could be easily fixed. Our contract does not allow us to negotiate repairs so we needed to know if the problem was something we would walk away from the deal over. The sellers graciously extended the inspection period three days so we could set something up. I read reviews for a dozen different companies in the area and chose Ameritec because of all the five star reviews. Because we had such a limited time frame to get the AC looked at, I wanted to find a company that I could rely on to actually show up when they said they would. Unfortunately Ameritec was just the opposite. My fiance made the appointment first thing Monday morning for Wednesday afternoon. We were told that the tech would be there sometime between 3 and 5PM and that he would call our realtor when he was on his way so our realtor could get to the house to let him in. By 4:30 neither we nor our realtor had heard from the technician. We called the office and was told they would call the tech and find out when he'd be there. When they called us back they claimed that they'd been having problems with their scheduling system and that our appointment "never got scheduled." Funny that when we first called them they made no mention of not seeing our appointment in their system. Long story short, the technician didn't come and because the inspection period ended that day, there was no time to call anybody else. We had to make the largest purchasing decision of our lives without all the information we needed. Both of us had also taken several hours off of work that afternoon for this appointment and we inconvenienced the sellers all for nothing. Needless to say, we will not be using Ameritec for any future work we may need done and we will advise everyone we know to look for a more reliable HVAC company with better customer service. read more

Ivan and Ivan Jr. are very responsive and always get the job done. My neighbor recommended them when our air condition both went out on a Saturday back in 2010. He has also done excellent work for my cousin's home as well. read more
