We used Gadget Home Inspections for our home inspection and will not use any other service from now…read moreon. I will tell everyone I know purchasing a new home to get it inspected by Jeff. First of all, I appreciated how quick and easy it was to get the inspection appointment set up with Gadget Home Inspections. During the actual inspection I was amazed at how thorough Jeff was. (I even shared our results with many family members, and everyone also commented how thorough of a job he did!) Then during the walk-through towards the end of the inspection he answered all my questions with no hesitation. I know nothing about home repairs or what causes certain things, so I just wanted to have a better understanding of the things he was recommending. I felt like I was a nuisance with all my questions but he was so knowledgeable and patient with me. I truly appreciated it! After the inspection he sent us an electronic version of our report. It was nice to have a picture and notes with all of his recommendations. Also, there's a feature in the report that you can easily create a Request List of all the recommendations that you'd like to bring forward. It made things so easy for us! To top it all off, there was an area that Jeff wasn't able to access at the time of the inspection. The seller was able to make adjustments and Jeff came back to look at the area he was initially not able to. That is an example of how thorough Jeff is. Thank you Jeff and Gadget Home Inspections! Your knowledge and expertise make me a lot more comfortable making decisions regarding purchasing our new home!

We would give 0 stars if we could. You are better off going with no home inspection than using…read moreScott, because you would at least not waste the money on the inspection fee. Please note that his "errors and omissions" insurance only covers the cost of the inspection, and it expires after one year. We hired Scott to do a home inspection (November 2020) on our house we were considering buying, as he was recommended by our realtor. Scott completely missed many obvious things on the inspection that have (so far) cost us upwards of $34,000 in repairs in the 2 years that we've owned our home. A couple of these items are major. Major Miss 1: During the inspection, Scott mentioned that there was some indications of moisture in the attic, but explained to us that it was probably because the house was north/south facing, which can cause some condensation on the north side, which made sense to us at the time. The following winter, we noticed some water stains on an upstairs window sill. When we investigated this, we found that there was so much moisture in the attic that condensation was dripping down the walls from the attic above and onto the window sill. We also found moisture pooling in a light fixture. The cause of the buildup of moisture was because THERE WAS NO EXHAUST VENTILATION IN THE ATTIC. In the inspection report, Scott marked that the ventilation in the attic was "functional". When looking back at the interior and exterior pictures of the attic/roof, it was very obvious that exhaust venting was not there, and definitely not "functional". We had Scott come back and take a look at the attic, and although he never admitted he missed anything in the inspection, he said he would give us our money back because "we had a good realtor". 6 months later, and we have yet to see the money from him. Major Miss 2: During the inspection, when we were walking around the outside of the house with Scott, we pointed out a crack in the foundation, which seemed somewhat substantial as it was visible from the exterior. Scott walked over, looked at the crack, shrugged his shoulders and walked away, not saying a thing. He never put anything about it in the inspection report, and never talked to us about it any further. We have since discovered that our foundation is failing (critically in areas), to the point where it is so severe that the bottom course of cement block has sheared. This could have been investigated during the negotiation window. Other misses that should have been in the report: - Doors not closing properly (indicative of settling/foundation issues) - Exterior lighting that was not working, because fixtures were not installed correctly and were hanging off of the house. Moisture has gotten behind the fixtures and corroded the wires. - A cantilevered bump-out over the foundation was completely missing the exterior sheathing on the bottom of the joists, and there was a huge opening into the basement. Leaves were blowing in, and animals had gotten in previously. Please do yourself a favor and hire a different inspector, preferably one not recommended by your realtor.

We were getting ready to sell our home and it was recommended to get our home inspected prior to…read morelisting so that we could have it available when prospective buyers come through our open house and viewings. Two main reasons for this: 1) transparency and trust, and 2) a differentiator in the market. We have taken immaculate care of our home and were happy to have a third party inspector say so. Additionally, we knew we would be listing during a busy spring with lots of inventory, so having the inspection report in hand when we went live was a huge differentiator. Chris was amazing through this whole process. Super communicative, punctual, and professional. Chris and I are both veterans, so I trust his integrity and attention to detail on how he approaches his work. He arrived right on time, explained his process with a quick walkthrough of the home, left him to do his thing. The inspection took a few hours and when he was complete, he walked us through the highlights of his work. The majority of our home had no issues. He found a few things that he noted in his report and we discussed those in detail. It's critical to understand that inspectors review homes based on International Residential Code (IRC) and not local building code. Some things that are "deficiencies" in IRC may be allowed by local building code. He was super thorough and walked us through his findings and the impact it could have for occupants. His report was very comprehensive and supported by measurements, pictures, and recommendations. Overall, very satisfied with the process and report. I would trust Trailblazer Home Inspections with any future home inspection needs and am so glad we did it prior to listing our home. We came under contract to sell our home 4 days after listing and I'm convinced that having our inspection upfront played heavily in the buyer's decision!

I quickly googled emergency electrician in my area and reached out to Harrison without doing my usual review checks, etc. They quoted $79 for the call and service to be determined once the electrician was here. Ok. Once here, I was quoted over $400 for him to remove the can to look for the problem. I was shocked at the ridiculous price, but also very concerned because I knew my roof needed replacing. So, I went ahead. He removed the can and felt around. The insulation above was dry, the Sheetrock was wet. No further explanation when I asked why that could happen. He looked outside and didn't see any signs of a hole, etc. and said he didn't know. But, if I wanted, he could change out all the cans in the kitchen/dining/living room for a mere $xx,xxx. Ridiculous. Goodbye. Would not recommend to anyone!! Expensive lesson. Always check!!

I agreed to accommodate their requested window and waited for them to arrive. By 1:00 PM, no one had shown up and I had received no phone call or update. I called to find out what was going on, only to be told that they were still at another job and would be there for at least another 30 minutes before even heading my way. The lack of communication and consideration for my time was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. I had rearranged my day to accommodate their schedule, only to be left waiting with no notice that they were running behind. A simple courtesy call letting me know they were delayed would have made a significant difference. Unfortunately, this experience left me feeling that my time was not respected. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Harrison Electric. This is not the level of professionalism or customer service I would expect from a company I am trusting to work on my home.
