My partner and I are first time homebuyers, so we really wanted to find a reputable inspection company. Structure Tech consistently came up as a recommendation and we decided to go with them since this is a big investment. It is definitely more pricey than most companies, but their quality of services and customer support reflected that price. We did a house inspection, radon test, and sewer inspection and the total was a little more than 1K. I'd say for a big purchase like this, it is a worthwhile investment. Our inspector was Bryce, he was super communicative before and during the inspection. The report was throughout and detailed. We showed up the last hour with our realtor and Bryce went over the "big items" that requires attention. He was very throughout in his explanation and explained to us in terms that help us understand the problem and the solutions needed without making it too overwhelming. You can tell he definitely took the time to inspect thoroughly. We really appreciated Bryce's time and willingness to further explain even after the inspection. We had some troubles with the sewer inspection due to blockages at the house itself. However, Taylor and Kim were quick to support and respond by working directly with our realtor and the sellers' realtor. They were so patient with the back and forth. Communication overall were clear and top tier. Sturcture Tech also sent out another inspector to inspect some areas where there were notes from the seller for radon testing after we noted that we felt we didn't get the full inspection. They were able to do so within the timeframe we needed as well. Overall, I would highly recommend Structure Tech based on their communication and inspection quality! read more

HI- These guys were great! We hired them to do a home inspection and a sewer inspection on a 125 yr old duplex we are hopefully buying in MSP. Mike K was our main inspector. He spent over 5 hours at the house, did a VERY thorough inspection and spent an hour with me- walking me through the whole thing, answering my questions (some of which were very specific to various parts of the house). His written report was comprehensive and informative. Joe K was our sewer inspector and his report and video was also great. When it turned out the sewer was too blocked to finish the inspection and after the seller got it cleaned out he agreed to come back and do it again. All of the ppl we worked with there from the admins to the inspectors were very professional and helpful. I have been through several house inspections over the years and these guys were very top notch! Yes, they are a bit more than some others in town but in my mind worth every penny. read more

After i moved in I found they had missed many things- all outside outlets were out, a sump pump was broken, the garage had sunk in an area, the deck was rotting, the humidifier was broken, the softwater system was not working, etc. They definitely could have done a better job. Our realtor suggested Structure Tech as the high-end choice of home inspectors when our offer was approved on a home. I now understand why, and I couldn't be happier that we chose Structure Tech as our inspectors. Eric L from the Structure Tech team was incredibly thorough in our inspection, included videos and photos of things he'd inspected, and answered any questions when we did our walkthrough after he'd finished up. I won't include photos or videos on this review since we don't technically own the house yet and I want to respect the sellers' privacy, but he takes them on an iPad and they're great quality. I will include some screenshots of the excellent communications we've received. Reports are color coded and sectioned and you can view them in a few different ways. Reports delivered via email and easy to reference or forward to your realtor or whoever you want to show. I was talking about the inspection we received with some friends who are recent homeowners. They were shocked at how much detail and information we'd been given compared to the inspections they received, and wished they'd also gone through Structure Tech. Eric's inspection has already saved us tens, if not hundreds of THOUSANDS of dollars. The $1,400 we paid for a full inspection including radon, mold, sewer, and more was WELL worth the money. SEE UPDATE BELOW I really hate to give Structure Tech a 1-star review, since we honestly thought we had a great experience with them during and immediately after the inspection. But we need to warn others about a big mistake that was made so they don't suffer the same fate as us. My wife and I are first-time homebuyers and just over a year ago (March 2022) we requested inspection services for a house we hoped to buy. Our initial request was to have the base inspection, plus a radon test, chimney inspection, and mold inspection. Soon after confirming our appointment via email, we were informed by Trina Pauly, Client Care Coordinator of Structure Tech, that she "did not see a wood burning fireplace in the listing or photos" and removed the chimney inspection from our request. Considering we never owned a home, we trusted Structure Tech's expertise and didn't try to fight this change. This also seems to align with what Structure Tech says on their website, which implies that chimney inspections are only necessary for homes with wood-burning appliances. After we received our regular inspection report from Structure Tech, the only comments about the chimney were that the chimney cap was not visible and that they recommended the cap be inspected and repaired as necessary. They also stated that "various bricks on the chimney were spalling" and "they may need replacement in the future, but there is currently no recommended service." Unfortunately, this quick assessment vastly underestimated the actual condition of the chimney. It's now June 2023 and we've been addressing problems in the house in order of necessity. Since the chimney didn't seem like a very pressing matter, we only just requested it have a true inspection. The result? We're told the chimney is essentially in total disrepair. It has many major issues, including an increased risk of carbon monoxide building up in the house. It's recommended that we have the chimney rebuilt from the roof on up. The estimated cost for the project is about $10,000. That's obviously a huge chunk of money. And we could have used that information as a negotiation tool when buying the house or even the info we needed for us to walk away and look for another house. But now we live here and are stuck with fixing this since we obviously don't want to risk carbon monoxide poisoning. I'm sorry Structure Tech, but you let us down. We asked for the chimney inspection and were told we didn't need it, which we should have pushed back on. If only we knew more. EDIT: Updating this review from 1 star to 3 stars. Structure Tech did reach out to us and we had a productive series of messages. We still feel like they could have been more clear about when and why a chimney inspection is necessary and what their limitations are compared to other companies offering the service. But they are otherwise a great company that's been very responsive and helpful to us as homeowners. read more
