Once a great company to work with... one of the early pioneers in internet based lending with great rates/costs and customer service. We've financed/refinanced through them multiple times over the years. The latest attempt, though, has been a complete joke. I tried to 'chat' multiple with them on the website - they never responded even though it indicates there's an agent available. I filled out the most of the loan app on the site and then a couple of days later I get a phone call, I explain the project and am told to expect financing rates/cost breakdown via email which never arrived. I followed up with both email and a voicemail to my 'banker', again requesting the promised information. no response. Too bad AmeriSave - you had a good thing going once upon a time and had a very loyal customer - one that is now taking his business elsewhere since you don't seem to want it. Good luck. read more

Supposed to close on the 10th, but that came and went. They said everything is approved and cleared but waiting in Underwriting to get back on closing date. They dragged their feet and we are STILL waiting for them to close. I do not understand what the hold up is. I spoke to supervisors of supervisors on this and they said they are short-staffed and it's sitting there waiting to be completed. Tomorrow we will move forward with another lender because AmeriSave is not what they pretend to be. RUN FROM AMERISAVE MORTGAGE! Amerisave solicited my buyer and told that they do mortgages for mobile homes on leased land. Yay! They also gave the buyer a great interest rate of 7.25%. This loan is for a mobile home on leased land. That means you do not own the land below your home. You rent it. We went on providing buyer information for 3.5 weeks and all of a sudden 4 days till we close escrow they say , "oops sorry we can't give you this loan as the 1998 mobile home is on leased land." Now, they had already told me the park is on their list of approved parks!! What did they approve? Why didn't they know this Park is on leased land? I had provided a copy of the MLS showing, leased land. They ordered the appraisal, it was clear as day on the appraisal, leased land. Amerisave is selling loans on manufactured homes. They are so new to this business the mortgage agent and their underwriting did not even know that when a home is on leased land us use the tags for ID. Manufactured homes that are land owned you have a Parcel #, APN not tags. Go with a trusted company!! Not these fly by night people that don't know their loans. This is the first time in 27 years that I was duped. I immediately called local Bay Federal Credit Union & they have come to the rescue. I forwarded all of our documents and they are pre approving tonight. I am told they should be able to close it in 2.5 weeks read more

I was looking for home equity loan and was originally told by Jane that they couldn't help me. She called me a day or 2 later telling me they could help me. I spoke to Jane, Spoke to Matt, And I spoke to Robbin. I gave them all my information I gave them social security I gave them what I had on my W2's, I gave them my tax return from last year and they were going to get me $10000 For home Improvements. Suddenly their system let them down and they were unable to help me Get my loan to pay off my credit cards and fix my house. They blamed underwriting and their system and in the meantime they got every bit of information they could from me. They sent me an email today after calling me yesterday telling me they couldn't help me, Asking me to take their survey when I clicked on the link of course it couldn't find my account. Another thing I couldn't figure out is I'm in Illinois, They are all in Georgia. Why didn't someone from Illinois call me. The buyer was not happy with the lack of communication/poor communication. Two times throughout the transaction the loan officer disappeared. Once we were able to finally reach him, he became very defensive and lashed out toward me. The buyer expressed to me multiple times she was very unhappy and even went so far as to have another lender schedule an appraisal as she wanted to switch lenders very badly. Unfortunately we were too close to the close date to leave AmeriSave. I would NEVER use AmeriSave again and will NEVER recommend your sub-par services. Completely unacceptable in my book! read more

Stay far away from this company. They will run a hard credit report without authorization. I was looking at the different rates for a HELOC. They only wanted to re-fi at a higher rate. I felt they were trying to drive hard sales and appeared to be unethical. I tried sending a note to the person that ran the credit and the email came back undeliverable. Online refi sounds easy. Maybe it is, but I don't know. Started with one loan officer, but received a new one half way through. Couldn't get anyone to text me back or email me with questions, and for help for providing the correct documents needed. Processor for documentation would not answer my questions by emails. She would just keep sending me to "my portal" which said I needn't need anything else. I received loan approved email, only to receive another 2 days later that said I didn't provide the needed documentation and my loan was cancelled. Then I received a text a notary was coming to my house to sign final closing papers. Ultimately it did close in a relatively short period of time (around 22 days.) it was not a cheap refi. You need $500 upfront non refundable application fee. Lots of other fees, charges, points, and the likes and frustration, but it is done. read more

Update: First conversation was wonderful and you have the highest Fico they look for to offer the best rate the loan looks good go for it, then your hit with a required 500.00 admin fee to lock the loan and proceed. That seemed OK when you were primed you would get the loan just have to provide some docs. Mind you I told this person I hadn't filed my last years taxes yet and all they said is you need to get them done and of course I knew that. So now I'm uploading every document imaginable to the website which takes considerable time and I file my taxes to find out something they should know is they can't get a transcript from IRS for two months after receiving my taxes at least, so this was never going to happen and my locked rate meant nothing because it will expire first. Now I'm out 500.00 for something that should of been foreseeable by the loan originator. I'm pissed now. I was having second thoughts a long the way anyway because they didn't want to count all my income (rental) and that was way off from my past experiences getting loans and their reasons seemed to not make any sense other than they didn't want to bother with it. So the originator is deciding what kind of loan I am getting. Good luck if you dismiss this advice, this is not a company I would ever do business with again. AmeriSave Mortgage 1 Year Review When I first contacted ASM, the rep made it sound like the best deal on the plant; and I jumped on the opportunity without doing my homework. I hope you, the reader, is reading this in time to make your own informed decision. 1st issue with this deal, is the rep never told me the interest rate offered was a point purchased rate. I didn't know I was buying the rate upfront. I didn't have to pay anything out of pocket, ASM just baked the cost into the deal. It wasn't until I reviewed the loan documents that I realized this issue. At this point, I just went ahead and completed the almost complete process. I have to take some of the responsibility for not asking the right questions, but ASM deserves most of it for shady practices. 2ndissue is regarding the horrible customer service which clearly shows ASM doesn't care about its customers. As I approach the end of my first year with ASM, I received notice renewal from my Hazard Insurance of a significant increase. About 6 weeks before the policy ends for renewal, I use the ASM secure message center to send a secure message that I was not pleased with the Hazard renewal quote and would be shopping around for a new policy; and advised them not to pay that policy. I also advised them I would notify them once I located a new policy. About 2 weeks prior to the policy ending, I sent another secure email advising ASM of the new company and policy I selected and that said company would also outreach to ASM for payment. The week the policy ended; I checked my account to find ASM paid the previous Hazard renewal. Upon contacting ASM, they put the blame for the error on me; stating, I should have contacted the vendor to cancel the policy because once they get the renewal, they just pay them. If that is the process, I'm ok with that, but my problem is, I sent a secure email 6 weeks prior to this becoming an issue and no one responded to my secure email advising me of the appropriate action before it became a problem. My email continues to sit in their system without a response to date. 3rdissue on the backside of issue 2. I had to contact the previous Hazard vendor and request a cancellation and refund. Once the refund was received in my bank, I contacted ASM via telephone, because we surely don't want to communicate via secure email anymore. I wanted to place the funds back into my escrow account, and I was advised on sending a one-time payment to escrow. The rep walked me through submitting the online payment. A couple of weeks later when I'm reviewing my monthly expenses, I find that ASM's one time payment drafted my bank account for the escrow refund and a monthly mortgage payment. About a week later, the regularly monthly mortgage draft was also processed. Again, I'm on the call with ASM customer service, but there's nothing customer service can do. I have to first provide proof that the funds have cleared my bank via a printout and send that to a special ASM email address for them to review and verify. The earliest one of the payments can be refunded to my account is about 10 days. If you are seeking to refi your home, I would not recommend this company due to the shady practices I've encountered with them, and their failure to even attempt to provide customer service. If you can't find a bank to match the rate they offer, I would rather go with a bank that is a full point over whatever ASM offers you. Having peace of mind, is worth a few extra dollars. read more

This company called me at least 22 times in a four hour period, with 18 of those calls in a two hour period. They texted once just prior [1 minute] the first call. From the text I responded they had the wrong phone number. Then the calls began from Hale, Mi, Akron, Mi, Elsie, Mi, and several numbers from Indianapolis, Indiana. I finally answered one of the calls and the person wanted to speak to James. The first time I explained that there was no James at this number and the obviously had the incorrect number and to please show that on their records. This was in the first hour of the calls. Obviously they continued from the several different numbers and not one person left a message. Finally hour 4 I started answering and telling them to stop calling me. I did get the name of the person allegedly applying for a mortgage and the town he was buying in. However I kept hearing well that's the number he put on the application. NOT MY FAULT. I finally told the last two people I spoke to that that application was fraudulant and to not call me again and remove my phone number. The last person I spoke to I told him that since my ID has been stolen I wanted that application voided. He told me he couldn't but would put my number on a do not call list. So I contacted the Corporate office and no one ever answered even though it was not yet 5 pm their time. I did leave a message so we will see if they respond back to me. I did remind them I was in another time zone and to remember than when calling me back tomorrow. I also said since this was going on for over 4 hours, I expected compensation for the harassment and inconvenience. Because of their relentless harassment in calling every few minutes [example-10:03, 10:04, 10:09, 10:20, 10:26, 10:28, 10:30, 10:32, 10:34, 10:37, 10:38, 10:50. 11:02, 10:03, 11:08, 11:10.] then I put my phone on airplane mode to make it stop. Nope, once I turned it back on - 12:05, 1:05, 1:12, 1:49, 1:50, and 1:55. Ridiculous - absolutely. They took turns calling and harassing me. If I were to be in the market to refinance or finance a mortgage, I would NEVER use this pest company. Nor will I ever recommend this to anyone else. read more

Every day is a new request, then after few months some of the files expires and they started asking everything again. My actual loan is with LoanDepot, much better company. Finally they get to the point that you need to give them a $500 application fee on a credit card upfront, PLUS, they put around $5,000 in closing costs and $18,000 in vague "other costs" into the application that I would need to agree to just to proceed. Looking at all the comments about this business I can see I am not the only one that feels this way. I was repeatedly asked for the same paperwork every day, Cory Walker & his "team". they must never communicate with each other. Cory was quick to take my $500 to get started, but I rarely spoke with him after that. Plus, he went on vacation right after he started my refinance. I complained to customer service 3 separate times & one of those times they said they would have Cory Walker's supervisor call me back, & he never did. I ended my contract with Amerisave & I did get my $500 back, but I am telling you guys, read the comments in Yelp about this company before you borrow from them, they don't put the customer first, all they care about is making a buck. This company is the worst ever. We applied in February and at the beginning of May we still had not closed. We had to pay a fee of $500 to apply and that was money wasted. They delayed the loan by constantly asking for another document and then at the beginning of May raised the fees by over 20%. Questions we asked went unanswered, staff apparently never read the emails we sent, the man to whom we talked when we finally decided not to go ahead became angry with us and the whole bad experience cost us $500 plus appraisal and other fees. Documents have been requested multiple times because they say they never received them although I don't believe that. And because they have waited too long, extra documents have had to be provided now. We've had 6 different people working on this and it appears they don't communicate with each other. Today, trying to get some information on status, 2 people have emails that are completely shut down. Quit? Got fired? Either way, does not give me any confidence. We were looking to refinance our mortgage & a friend recommended we look at Amerisave. They had the best interest rate out of all the other mortgage companies we looked at. So we decided to use them for the refinancing. Had several issues with the initial process that delayed our closing the loan. Finally everything was fixed and after closely reviewing the paperwork we finished the refinancing. After everything was settled my wife & I came into some extra money. Our friend suggested we try to request a recast of our mortgage. I called the company to find out if they did recasts and how I would go about it. The initial representatives were very pleasant & told me who I needed to speak with about the process. That is where everything stopped. After multiple calls over several days no one from the Special Loans dept would answer the phone & did not respond to the emails I sent to two different mailboxes. After several weeks we gave up & just paid our loan down. They may have very good interest rates but everything else including customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Would not recommend them after our experience. Unfortunately we are stuck with them for our mortgage. Lesson learned. read more
